Were You There?

What do you think I'll do today, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL)?

After all, today is a day when we need to go and worship.  Worship is so very important.

However, if you know me, or have read LwL for a while, you'll know that in addition to worshipping with church family, I enjoy worshipping through music.  So, that's what I'll do, today!

The music I'll share with you today is entitled, Were You there, When they Crucified my Lord?  Here is a link for you to click on, so you can listen to and/or sing along:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLJ0IjLAmOA.  The lyrics are below.

Were You There, When They Crucified My Lord?

Where you there
when they crucified my Lord?
Were you there
when they crucified my Lord?
Oh, sometimes it causes me to
tremble, tremble, tremble.
Were you there
when they crucified my Lord?

Were you there
when they nailed Him to a tree?
Were you there
when they nailed Him to a tree?
Oh, sometimes it causes me to
tremble, tremble, tremble.
Were you there
when they nailed Him to a tree?

Were you there
when they laid Him in a tomb?
Were you there
when they laid Him in a tomb?
Oh, sometimes it causes me to
tremble, tremble, tremble.
Were you there
when they laid Him in a tomb?

Were you there
when He rose up from the dead?
Were you there
when He rose up from the dead?
Oh, sometimes it causes me to
tremble, tremble, tremble.
Were you there
when He rose up from the dead?

Oooohhhh!  It makes me wonder... were you there?

Not really.  We who are alive today, were not really there.

But, there were people there.  People who saw and knew what happened to Jesus, when He was crucified.

Even thinking about being there, makes me tremble.

Before I gained salvation, when I was really young, I felt stressed and sick in my heart that Jesus was hurt so badly... and crucified.

But, once I was preached to and read God's Word, the Bible, I began to realize that what happened with Jesus being crucified on the cross was absolutely the best thing that could ever have happened.

After all, God sent His son to earth.  Jesus, God's Son, fulfilled the plan of redemption that God the Father planned.

Yes, He made a way for us to gain salvation, and everlasting life, by trusting in/believing upon our Lord, Jesus Christ, who died on the cross, to pay the price for the sin of the world, for all who believe upon Him.

Thinking of that, made me think of 1 Corinthians 1:18, "For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God."

Amen!  For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

Yes, it's true.  Anyone who has been saved, realizes that what happened, it was done by the power of God.

However, those who have not gained salvation and everlasting life, haven't come to Christ.  And, when they hear about the preaching of the cross, to them, it is foolishness.

Hopefully, you have become saved.  If so, then we will both spend eternity in Heaven, with Him.

For this, I thank Him.

Thank You, Lord!

Until next time...
