As I sometimes discuss, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I continue with the theme of politics and religion.
Please know that even though you may think I wrote this entry recently, I didn't. I actually wrote it Dec 17, 2011).
Well, not only do I believe that our religious and/or non-religious backgrounds contribute to our political points of view, we can see it in reality, just by looking around the world.
Many countries in Africa for example, who used to have freedom of religion, have been taken over and dominated by those of another religious background, mainly by killing those who were not of the same religion.
That seems to be the easiest of ways to dominate an area. Kill off all who do not believe and who refuse to convert. Then, proceed to instill governments and enact laws against religious freedom.
Of course, in poor nations, where the people cannot protect themselves and where their government cannot/will not protect them, this happens. Not so, in N. America. Our nations are too strong for this agenda.
Instead, our freedoms are being eroded from within.
What I am about to post, some may say has no bearing on us in Canada. I beg to differ. It has been our historical nature to follow whatever happens in USA.
Things are changing in USA. For this, I am truly happy!
Please realize that at some point in the future, I could be one imprisoned just for writing about this topic. Yes, it's possible here in Canada, now.
Why do I say this? Well, both in Canada and in USA, the people enjoy freedom of speech and have done so for many a year. This is about to change, at least in USA.
(N.B. Please realize that I am adding today, that we here in Canada have lost some of our freedom of speech. Just as I've discussed in the past.)
Here is a link that can better explain to you what is happening, than I:

In the above video you'll hear about how the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) & the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) are being legislated.
Both claim to provide for detaining those from any country in the world who speak out against anyone/anything happening in USA.
Both acts allow people to be imprisoned for an indefinite period of time, without any proof or conviction. On the basis of terrorism.
Hmmm... This means if someone in a governmental position doesn't like a remark made in real life, or on the internet, a person can be arrested and held, without conviction or proof, for an indeterminate period of time. Possibly, forever... or as long as they live.
Don't believe me? There's more to come, tomorrow.
Meanwhile, I must mention to you, that we truly need to be patient in dealing with what is happening here in our countries. And, not be hurtful.
Thinking of that, made me think of Romans 12:14, "Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not."
Amen! Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
Even though hurtful things are happening at this time, I will do as God insists. I will not curse anyone.
Hopefully, you feel the same.
If you do, I know God will bless you.
Until next time...
