There's something I feel I need to mention, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL).
It's something that I found out about last week. When I got a phone call from someone I know.
The phone call was from a past church family member. A lady that is a sister in the Lord.
She called to let me know that her pastor, who used to be my pastor, had a loss of a family member.
Pastor Tom Perry, from Walkerville Evangelical Baptist Church (WEBC) was the person who lost a family member. His mom died, on March 3, 2018.
I was grateful that I had been called and notified of the funeral/memorial service. Not just because I heard of Tom Perry's mom's death.
I was grateful, because I've known Tom Perry since the mid 1990's.
Back then, we both worshipped at Campbell Baptist Church (CBC). At that time, he was not a pastor. But, he and I, along with many other people attended group meetings, there.
We not only attended Bible study. We also met with another group, there. We both had friends within the group.
So, when he became a pastor, I was truly happy to know him while he was doing that work for our Lord.
Did I know Tom Perry's mom? Yes. In the mid 1990's, I met her.
Many of us joined Tom Perry at his mom's home, and had great time, together. Plus, she did attend worship from time to time, while Tom Perry began working as a pastor.
The funeral/memorial service was truly a blessing.
Tom Perry and his twin brother both spoke for their family members, about their mom. And, honoured her.
This made me think of Exodus 20:12, "Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee."
Amen! Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
Yes, they had a long time together, here on earth. You see, their mom was 81 years old.
God truly blessed Tom Perry's family.
For this, I'm grateful.
Thank You, Lord!
Until next time...
