Here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I would like to wish my grandson, T... Happy Birthday! I'm looking forward to seeing you!
Now, I'll let you know about what happened when I saw my great-grandson, E.
Even though it wasn't his birthday, we and other relatives got together on Saturday, October 7th, to celebrate E's 2nd birthday!
It was a wonderful time to see E! And, it was surprising to see him do things that in the past, he had never done, before. :)
Older children climbed on the trampoline, at E's aunt's home, where we all met. After a couple of hours, E's dad, my grandson, D... was shocked when he saw E climb onto the trampoline, without any help! I have to admit, I was shocked, too!
The children had a good time. So did we adults. Plus of course, we also enjoyed some delicious food and birthday cake. Thank you! :)
When E sat with his mom to open his birthday presents, it was truly nice seeing this happened. E enjoyed seeing the items he received as birthday gifts.
Was this shocking? Absolutely, not! It was what everyone expected.
However, something happened that shocked everyone.
Just so you know, E never tried to play with any of the gifts he received and got to see with his mom. Except once.
When the box I gave E was opened, I'm not sure he even noticed anything else I had placed into the box, other than an item that he adored! When he saw the 'minion' ball inside the box, he smiled, stood up, picked up the ball, and wouldn't put it down.
E carried the minion ball, rolled it, played with it, and hugged it, continuously!
His dad, my grandson, D... made a few comments about how it was the gift E seemed to like best. lol
I'm not sure other people were happy, but I know I was. I was truly thankful to my Lord.
Why? Well, at the time when I bought the ball, I wasn't sure if he'd like it, at all. But, E.. loved it! Thank you, Lord, for placing it on my heart to obtain it and give it to E!
After all, I had prayed that He would help me obtain a gift that E would love to have. And, He did!
Thinking about how I prayed and how He helped me, made me think of Colossians 4:2, "Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving;"
Amen! We need to continue in prayer, just as I had done. Plus, we need to watch in the same with thanksgiving, just a I had done.
Yes, I was happy, and thankful. I silently prayed and honoured Him for helping me do what my great-grandson, E would adore.
Thank You, Lord!
Of course, being the Saturday of our Canadian Thanksgiving weekend, I was truly thankful.
Thank You, Lord!
Until next time...
