Memory & Peace...

If you read Life with Lynnie (LwL) a while ago, you'll know that I attended the funeral of Rolly Marentette.  You'll also know that Rolly was an important person for injured workers.

If you didn't read it, please do.  For if you do, you'll know a lot about him.

Not as much as I know.  Or, recall.

While my now deceased husband, Gordon was alive, there were many times when both Rolly and Gordon did things together, at meetings for injured workers.

I won't give details about the problem at a meeting that was held outside Windsor, Ontario, Canada, in a nearby town of Belle River.  Some people may recall, while others may not... since it happened many, many years ago.

However, I will let you know that there was such anger at that large meeting, that both Rolly and Gordon, along with another fellow, S... were threatened to be arrested.  They were threatened by someone who was actually hurting some of the injured workers at that meeting.

No.  They did not get arrested.  Nor, had they done anything to hurt anyone.  But, they had spoken up/out, and then were threatened.

Remembering some of the things they did and/or talked about together to help others, made me cry.  :'(

It truly touched my heart.  And, made me sad to realize that they are both no longer alive.

Yes, it's truly grief.

Sigh...

The thing that makes my heart feel good about both Rolly and Gordon, is that they both truly had loving hearts.

And, they both did whatever they could, whenever they could, to speak up/out to help other people.

This truly brought peace to anyone who suffered and heard or saw both Rolly and Gordon do what they could.

Peace.

It's so very important.  Not just to me... or other injured workers.

Peace is important to everyone.  And, it's something God wants for us.

Just as we read, in Romans 15:33, "Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen."

Amen.

May the God of peace be with you... all.

Until next time...
