Today, I'll be telling you, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), about something I did last week.
If you know me, or if you've read LwL for a while, you'll know that I have been a member of several injured workers groups (IW), here in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
Please don't think there is more than one (1) IW group. As far as I know, there isn't.
In the past, groups began, and finished. So, you can see why I've been an IW member of a few different groups.
Last year, a new group was created. I am a member, there.
It's known as: Unifor Local 195 Injured Workers Group. The meetings are held at 3400 Somme Ave., Windsor, ON.
Every month, we meet on the first (1st) Thursday of each month, at 6:30 p.m.
So, this means we met last week on Thursday, May 4th. It wasn't a normal meeting.
We celebrated the 1st year anniversary of the group!
Like normal, I arrived just a couple minutes after the meeting began. And, some people were happy I didn't miss the meeting.
I was happy I was there, also!
Why?
Well, we enjoyed a lovely dinner of salad, pizza, cup cakes, plus soda/pop and coffee!
Yes, it was delicious! But, that wasn't the only thing I liked about the meeting.
When I first arrived, T... who is a fellow Christian who I've seen where I've worshipped several times, handed me a booklet. Thank you, T!
The booklet had a lovely cover. Inside, were pictures of things that the group participated in, of various kinds. e.g. yard sale and various other events.
I must admit that even though I had been at the yard sale, I hadn't participated in the events at that time, so the pictures were wonderful for me to see.
While we enjoyed eating our dinner, a video was shown. The video was put together by a member. M, showed us what he created on the large screen in front of us. It was wonderful! Thank you, M!
One of the women at the meeting N, spoke about how she would be participating in the bike ride from Ottawa, Ontario... to... Toronto, Ontario.
All the riders will be riding their bicycles! And, it will take several days for them to arrive in Toronto.
However, they will be there in time to attend the Injured Workers gathering in Toronto for June 1st, 2017... which is Injured Workers Day! I'll talk more about it, another day.
N and a man in attendance, K gave each of us a T-shirt that advertised the bike ride for injured workers. They even gave me a T-shirt for each of my daughters. Thank you, so much!
It was so nice of them to do this. And, it was nice that all of us, who attended were all treated in a loving way.
Thinking of this, made me think of Hebrews 13:1, "Let brotherly love continue."
Just as we read in today's Bible verse, we must let brotherly love continue.
We need to treat other people in loving ways.
Just as we were treated at the 1st year anniversary of our injured workers group.
For this, I am thankful to all who participated in/with our group. I must admit, I felt blessed. Thank you.
And, I'm thankful to our Lord. For, He provides for all our needs.
Thank You, Lord!
Until next time...
