Like I've said in the past, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), today is a day when we need to worship. And, honour God.
Hopefully, you will worship Him. I know I will!
Of course, I also enjoy music as a method of worship. So, I decided to share a song with you.
This song is not a hymn. And, it's not really showing that it is honouring God. But, I feel that the lyrics actually honour Him.
The song is by Anne Murray and is entitled, You Needed Me. Here is a link for you to listen to and/or sing along: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-X79Jko9bBI. The lyrics are below.
You Needed Me
I cried a tear, you wiped it dry
I was confused, you cleared my mind
I sold my soul, you bought it back for me
And held me up and gave me dignity
Somehow you needed me
You gave me strength to stand alone again
To face the world out on my own again
You put me high upon a pedestal
So high that I could almost see eternity
You needed me, you needed me
And I can't believe it's you I can't believe it's true
I needed you and you were there
And I'll never leave, why should I leave, I'd be a fool
'Cause I finally found someone who really cares
You held my hand when it was cold
When I was lost, you took me home
You gave me hope when I was at the end
And turned my lies back into truth again
You even called me friend
You gave me strength to stand alone again
To face the world out on my own again
You put me high upon a pedestal
So high that I could almost see eternity
You needed me, you needed me
You needed me, you needed me
Even though Jesus' name isn't part of the lyrics of this song, I always think of Him, whenever I hear, think of, or sing this song.
As I mentioned recently, I've had tears and sadness, but He cleared my mind. And, He lifted me up so much, that I know He was there for me, because I needed Him.
He has held my hand, and has provided for me. He's given me hope. And, even calls me... friend.
Jesus has given me strength to stand alone again, to face the world out on my own again.
For this, I will always be thankful. And, will always praise Him.
Thinking of this, brought to mind, Psalm 28:7, "The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him."
Yes, the Lord IS my strength, and my sheld. My heart trusts Him, and I am helped. Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him.
This may have not been my song, but it was a song I felt honoured Him. Which is why I shared it with you.
Do you worship Him? Do you honour Him?
I do.
If you do, you'll truly be blessed.
Until next time...
