If you read Life with Lynnie (LwL) yesterday, then you'll know I was happy to participate in having communion, and worshipping God.
Was this the end of my day?
Afterwards, I made my way across town. I went to visit a friend of mine, L.
L now lives at a retirement home called, Devonshire Riverside House Retirement Residence: http://devonshireretirement.ca/.
Please know that I have visited L, many times there. Plus we speak by phone calls.
Even though I was going to see L, I wasn't the only person who was doing so.
Well, a group of us people, who have known L for a long time, decided to celebrate L's birthday! We are all her church family, too.
L's birthday was actually on Monday, March 27th. However, a friend of hers arranged with some people from where L worships, to get together on Sunday, April 2nd, to celebrate L's birthday.
L became 70 years old!
I must admit, it was nice seeing some of the people in attendance, who wanted to celebrate L's 70th birthday. Some people I see fairly often. Some people, I hadn't seen in a while.
In any case, we enjoyed a wonderful lunch, together.
Those who provided for the meal, I thanked. Originally, I offered to bring some food to share, but was told not to. So, I thank you, again here on LwL!
Not only did we all enjoy lunch together, but it was wonderful watching L blow out the candles on her birthday cake!
Of course, it was also nice seeing L unwrap birthday presents she received! :)
It truly touched my heart in a loving way, to celebrate L's 70th birthday.
Thinking of this, made me think of Hebrews 10:24, "And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:"
Yes, let us consider one another, to provoke unto love and to good works.
Even though L enjoyed the celebration of her 70th birthday, I thought it was wonderful that so many people did good things for L. And, showed her love.
Hopefully, we'll all get together again in the future for another special year birthday celebration for her.
If so, God will bless us. Especially, since she is a widow, with no children.
So, please... pray for L.
Thank you for praying for L.
If you do, I know God will bless you.
Until next time...
