Here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I'll be letting you know about something.
It has to do with what I did last Sunday. Easter Sunday. Resurrection Day!
Before I tell you what I did that day, I need to remind you that on the Saturday of last weekend, it wasn't a fun and/or happy day for me. After all, even though it wasn't truly the anniversary of my wedding day, my now deceased husband, Gordon and I were married on the Saturday of Easter weekend.
Even though I felt rather calm that day, I had trouble sleeping that night.
Well, to be honest, I never had even 1 minute of sleep, that night.
So, just after 5:00 a.m., which was Sunday morning, I decided to get ready and go to attend the sunrise worship service with the church family I used to be a member of. Even though I thought I'd be there before 6:00 a.m., when the service was to begin, I found I was about eight (8) minutes late.
Believe me when I say it was upsetting when I arrived at the church building.
Not just because I was arriving late. But, also because even though the worship service had begun, the man who in the past had done damage to my vehicle and to vehicles of some friends, was outside.
I had thought he wouldn't have seen which street I had parked at, rather than in the church building parking lot. But, he did see where I came from.
He was smoking and drinking coffee by the front door.
I asked him why he was there. He said he felt too warm inside, so he was outside for a while.
I responded letting him know that even though I was late, I felt we both needed to be inside.
He didn't come. I prayed that he wouldn't do anything to damage my vehicle.
The worship service had begun, but knowing it was music at that time, I was glad I hadn't missed the sermon.
That man came into the sanctuary, but also left several times during the worship service. Believe me when I say I felt stressed, but I prayed for him.
The service was absolutely wonderful! A true blessing! Thank You, Lord!
Of course, to me it is truly loving to honour Jesus. Just as we did, who worshipped there, that early on Resurrection Sunday!
Knowing what we did on Resurrection Sunday, made me think of Romans 10:9, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."
If we confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we shall be saved.
I have done this, and gained salvation.
Have you? If not, please do it, today.
Tomorrow may be too late.
Until next time...
