105th Year Anniversary!

There's something I'd like to tell you about, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL).

What is it?

Well, if you've read LwL for quite a while, you'll know that in the past I worshipped at a couple of churches that are actually sister church groups.

The pastor of the latest church group, Tom Perry was a fellow I met back in 1994.  We worshipped at the same church group and attended Bible study with our pastor at that time.

Eventually, Tom became a pastor of Walkerville Evangelical Baptist Church (WEBC), where I worshipped for a few years.  Here's a link for you to check it out:  http://gowebc.com/.

If you clicked on the link, you'll be aware that on Saturday, March 25, 2017 there was a special event.  Yes, I attended!

We celebrated the 105th anniversary of WEBC!

At 4:00 p.m., the anniversary service began, with opening prayer.  Praise and worship took place, and pastor Tom welcomed everyone, including several pastors from other church groups.

Special music happened, that was lovely!

Then, the message was spoken.  Not by pastor Tom.  It was spoken by the pastor who had been both ours for so many years at the church where we both first met.

Dr. Donald McKay gave the message.

I must admit, it was absolutely a blessing to me, to hear him speak, preach and teach, when Don gave the message.  I'll tell you about it, tomorrow.

Afterwards, there was prayer of the churches of Christ.  Then, special music and response to God's Word.

After the benediction and provision prayers, we celebrated in a different way.

We all made our way downstairs into the fellowship room, where we enjoyed a delicious meal, together!  Yes, I brought some dessert, but I have to admit, the meal itself was wonderful.  Thank you!

I felt so blessed to be able to sit next to pastor Dr. Donald McKay, along with his uncle, another pastor, and a person who used to worship at the same church group.

The glory of being together, and being thankful to God, made me think of 1 Corinthians 10:31, "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God."

Believe me, I did all to the glory of God.  And, so did all who were there.

What a blessing!  Our Lord, truly blessed me, and everyone in attendance.

Yes, I am truly thankful.

And, always will be.

Thank You, Lord!

Until next time...
