Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Today, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I'd like to share something with you.  It relates to the Republic of Ireland.

On the day of New Year's Eve, 2016... some music touched my heart and mind.  I couldn't stop thinking and singing it.

Knowing that my granny came from Northern Ireland, I doubt if she would have sung this.  However, if she were alive today, and understood that the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland were far more peaceful than in the past, she may have.

So, I decided to share it with you on the day when the Republic of Ireland celebrates St. Patrick's Day.

The song is by James Royce Shannon and is entitled, Too-Ra-Loo-Ra-Loo-Ra.  Here is a link for you to listen to and/or sing along:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aw9B49epS_M.  The lyrics are below.

Too-Ra-Loo-Ra-Loo-Ra

Too ra loo ra loo ra
Too ra loo ra li
Too ra loo ra loo ra
Hush now, don't you cry
Too ra loo ra loo ra
Too ra loo ra li
Too ra loo ra loo ra
That's an Irish lullaby

Over in Killarney, many years ago
My mother sang a song to me in tones so sweet and low
Just a simple little ditty in her good old Irish way
And I'd give the world if I could hear
That song of hers today

Too ra loo ra loo ra
Too ra loo ra li
Too ra loo ra loo ra
Hush now, don't you cry
Too ra loo ra loo ra
Too ra loo ra li
Too ra loo ra loo ra
That's an Irish

These lyrics show it is an Irish way of loving family... and others.

Thinking of this, made me think of 1 John 4:7, "Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God."

Just as we read in today's Bible verse, we need to love one another, for love is of God; and everyone that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

So, let us all love each other.

Knowing that in the past, there wasn't love and/or peace between the Republic of Ireland, and Northern Ireland, I am truly happy that today's lifestyle and environment is different.

Yes, I've been in both the Republic and Northern Ireland.  And, I must admit, I truly love the whole island... of Ireland (at least, all of which I've seen!).

So, now I will wish all from the Republic of Ireland... Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Until next time...
