Here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I'll be discussing something I did.
On Saturday, February 18th, 2017, I went to Banwell Community Church for their games night. This happened almost a week after worshipping there, as I mentioned, previously.
As I arrived about 7 p.m., I was able to speak with a friend that I know works there, but worships with another church group. D's husband, G was with her, along with a couple of their other friends. Their friend R, I have known a long time, but met N, for the first time.
My friend, D asked me if I had seen her Facebook (FB) event about this. I told her I did not. And, explained that when I had worshipped there, it was given as information. So, I decided to attend.
People in attendance all brought snacks. Just as I did.
Eight (8) people played Euchre. It's a card game that I rarely play, but adore.
My friend D, her husband G and friend D, played a game I had never before heard of. It's called... Bibleopoly.
Here's a link for you to check out Bibleopoly: http://monopoly.wikia.com/wiki/Bibleopoly.
If you read about Bibleopoly, you'll know that it was set up to be played similar, but different to Monopoly... a game I played even when I was young.
On Monopoly, there are various amounts of money that is used. Players buy properties and build apartment buildings, in order to win.
On Bibleopoly, money is not used. Instead, there are 3 papers of offerings that are used. Players buy Bible-named properties and build churches, in order to win.
I must admit that the game Bibleopoly was absolutely wonderful! Our group laughed much, as it was played. My friend D's husband, G... won. :)
Yes, the game was very nice. If ever I can locate where to buy it, I will!
Knowing it's regarding the Bible, really made me feel good. It made me think about our Lord, throughout the game.
By feeling this way, I thought about Colossians 3:2, "Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.", even though the verse wasn't meant for games being played. Still, it made me think about how we need to always set our affection on things above, not on things on the earth, just as the Bible verse tells us.
I must admit, I'm truly thankful I attended that games night event, at that church building, for it made me continue to think about our Lord, in many ways, instead of thinking about things here on earth.
What a blessing it was to me, attending that event. Hopefully, there will be other events in the future.
I'm thankful for spending time with some brothers and sisters in the Lord. And, being able to do something to focus on God.
Hallelujah!
Until next time...
