Peace...

Rather than discuss Christmas, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I decided that I would like to let you know something.

God has truly helped me.

Yes, He's helped me in many ways.  Just as He probably has, you.

But, there's something that happens at Christmas that has affected me, since my husband, Gordon... died.  Over seven (7) years ago.

You see, even though I love Jesus, and adore celebrating His birthday even though we don't know the actual date he was born, there's been a Christmas Carol that has truly touched my heart.  And, made me cry, since Gordon died.

Why?

Because, Gordon's favourite Christmas Carol was... Silent Night.  And, whenever it was played and/or sung, it made me cry.  Even at church.

However, this year, something happened.  For some reason, it didn't affect me the same as it had since Gordon died.

In fact, I found myself actually singing Silent Night.  Not just on Christmas Eve at church.  But, also throughout most of December, this year.

Here is a link for you to listen to and/or sing along, for Silent Nighthttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nEH7_2c644Q.  The lyrics are below.

Silent Night

Silent night, holy night!
All is calm, all is bright.
Round yon Virgin, Mother and Child.
Holy infant so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace

Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight.
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia,
Christ the Savior is born!
Christ the Savior is born

Silent night, holy night!
Son of God love's pure light.
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With dawn of redeeming grace,
Jesus Lord, at Thy birth
Jesus Lord, at Thy birth

Silent night, holy night!
All is calm, all is bright.
Round yon Virgin, Mother and Child.
Holy infant so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace,
Sleep in heavenly peace

As we see/hear in the lyrics, silent night, holy night... all is calm, all is bright.  And, sleep in heavenly peace.

God has helped me deal with grief.  I feel glory unto Him.

Thinking of this, brought to mind, Luke 2:14, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men."

Yes, glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

I feel this, for Him.

Plus, He's done this for me.  He's done this, for others.

And, if you've been suffering grief and/or troubles in life, He'll do this, for you.  He'll give you peace.

Just trust Him.  As I've done.

And, thank Him.

Thank You, Lord!

Until next time...
