Mighty...

Like I've mentioned before here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), today is SONday!

Worshipping is so very important.

I haven't been able to go to worship with my church family, for more than a couple of months.  Even so, I read my Bible, and worship Him, here at home.

Of course, worshipping can be done through music, as well.

A hymn I want to share today, is by Martin Luther, and is entitled, A Mighty Fortress Is Our God.  Here's a link for you to listen to and/or sing along:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBlU07rCQS0.  The lyrics are below.

A Mighty Fortress Is Our God

A mighty fortress is our God, a bulwark never failing;
Our helper He, amid the flood of mortal ills prevailing:
For still our ancient foe doth seek to work us woe;
His craft and power are great, and, armed with cruel hate,
On earth is not his equal.

Did we in our own strength confide, our striving would be losing;
Were not the right Man on our side, the Man of God’s own choosing:
Dost ask who that may be? Christ Jesus, it is He;
Lord Sabaoth, His Name, from age to age the same,
And He must win the battle.

(lyrics added to the recording:)
A mighty fortress
A mighty fortress is our God
A mighty fortress
A mighty fortress is our God

(not included to the recording:
And though this world, with devils filled, should threaten to undo us,
We will not fear, for God hath willed His truth to triumph through us:
The Prince of Darkness grim, we tremble not for him;
His rage we can endure, for lo, his doom is sure,
One little word shall fell him.)

That word above all earthly powers, no thanks to them, abideth;
The Spirit and the gifts are ours through Him Who with us sideth:
Let goods and kindred go, this mortal life also;
The body they may kill: God’s truth abideth still,
His kingdom is forever.

(lyrics added to the recording:)
A mighty fortress
A mighty fortress is our God
A mighty fortress
A mighty fortress is our God
A mighty fortress
A mighty fortress is our God
Our God...

Yes, our God is a mighty fortress to us.  He provides for us, who belong to Him.

Just as we read, in Psalm 18:2, "The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower."

He is my rock, and my fortress.  He's my deliverer.  He's my God, my strength in whom I will trust.  He's my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

Without Him, I would be nothing.  But, belonging to Him, I receive very much from Him.

I could not survive without Him.

Could you?

Do you belong to Him?  Are you His child?

In order to be in His family, we need to gain salvation, by trusting in/believing upon our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Hopefully, you've done this.

If not, you won't become part of His family, and won't gain salvation.  This means that when your life here on earth ends, you will then spend eternity in Hell, separated from God, with no chance of escape.

If you have gained salvation by trusting in/believing upon our Lord, Jesus Christ, then you'll spend eternity in Heaven with Him.

The choice is yours.

Hopefully, I'll see you in Heaven.

Until next time...
