Hopefully, you read Life with Lynnie (LwL) yesterday. If you did, you'll be more aware about the worship service that I attended at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, here in downtown Windsor.
At the end of the worship service, all in attendance were invited to join members for fellowship and refreshments in the gym.
C, and I went into the gym and sat together at a table. Another lady... T, came and sat with us, along with her family members.
T looked familiar to me. She suggested that she thought we met at a meeting held for injured workers, a few months ago. I realized that she was correct.
After more conversation, T and I decided we should become Facebook (FB) friends. And, we did, later!
While there, I spoke with several other people. People that I have known quite a while.
Including my friend, M.
I hadn't seen M for quite a long time. In fact, since just before Christmas, last year.
Before I attended, I wondered if I would see her there, since she used to worship at St. Andrew's, a while ago.
M joined us at the table. We enjoyed conversation, together.
It was shocking to me that it wasn't truly just refreshments being served. After all, most places consider refreshments to be liquids to drink and usually just sweet treats to enjoy.
However, what we received was lunch!
Various kinds of sandwiches were there, along with cheese, veggies, and fruits. Plus, sweets for dessert. And, of course, liquids to drink.
To me, this wasn't just surprising.
I felt that the church members supplied lunch to all who wanted to enjoy fellowship and refreshments in the gym area.
To me, this was rather kind. And, loving.
Thinking about this, brought to mind Hebrews 10:23-24, "Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:"
Yes, the profession of the members faith didn't waver. In fact, they considered one another to provide unto love. And, did good works.
In addition to receiving fellowship time and refreshments, we also received other things.
We received information regarding St. Andrew's.
Plus notes with envelopes that had St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church photographed on them. We also received a mug, showing the same pic.
Believe me when I say I felt blessed. And, was thankful!
Talk about love. And, good works.
The sadness wasn't there.
Until next time...
