There's something I didn't tell you about on Life with Lynnie (LwL), yesterday. But, I'll tell you, today! :)
After finding out that my daughter, B and my granddaughter, A were going to worship at Walkerville Evangelical Baptist Church (WEBC), with my church family, I let you know I was going to meet them, there. And, I did... just as you know, if you read yesterday's LwL entry.
However, there was something else that was going to happen on SONday, that I feel I need to mention. We had a pot-luck luncheon!
Prior to worshipping with both church groups, I had prepared two (2) types of dessert items and brought them with me. This was to participate in the pot-luck luncheon.
My granddaughter, A absolutely adores eating at those luncheons!
I'm sure there are other reasons, but she definitely likes eating the type of rice that is made every time. It's a type of rice that she doesn't get served at home, so she is so happy when she can enjoy lunch, with my church family, who are mostly Pilipino, Indonesian, or Chinese... and of course, Canadian!
A absolutely adores the children she participates with, in Sunday school, also.
However, this past Sunday, when my daughter, B spoke with a friend of hers who doesn't live too far from WEBC, apparently her friend's son, D wanted to come with my granddaughter, A... to Sunday school. To me, this was shocking, but it made me very happy, also!
Both A and D enjoyed Sunday school. And, also... their lunch! Of course, so did B, and I, also. :)
To me, this was so wonderful. I felt like my heart would burst from feeling so blessed and loved by our Lord!
Something happened that didn't just make me happy, but also made an elder of my church family, happy.
D... told us that he wants to come again, for Sunday school! He was so happy! :)
Knowing that this was what we had called Mission Sunday, with our church family, when my elder, W heard that, it made him happy, too. Then, he turned to me, and said... that I was a great missionary, even though I am at home here, in Canada.
Why did he say this? I believe it was because as Christians who are evangelical, we plant seeds for Christ, in all ways we can.
Thinking of this, brought to mind, Psalms 96:3, "Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people."
Yes, we as Christians are supposed to declare His glory among unbelievers, and His wonders among all people. Even children, like D... who have not yet come to know about Jesus.
This made me happy.
To be honest, I laughed. And, thanked that elder.
Well, when my deceased husband, Gordon was alive, we had both gotten certificates to teach English as a Second Language (ESL). We had hoped to go somewhere in the world, and do work as missionaries, while teaching ESL.
After thanking him, and thinking about what I just told you, I almost wanted to cry. But then, God placed something on my mind.
It wasn't me, who invited, D to join us in worshipping. It was my granddaughter, A... and her mom, B.
Now, I must say that I pray God will bless my daughter, B... along with my granddaughter, A... her friend, D... and all who have the door opened to come to know, love, and grow in faith, with our Lord.
Hallelujah! Thank You, Lord!
Until next time...
