If you read Life with Lynnie (LwL) yesterday, you'll know that I was happy regarding what happened at our Sunday worship service, with my granddaughter, A.
A was also happy to be with me. :) Just as she was on last Friday.
What happened last Friday?
My church family had a FREE PASTA DINNER event. We were to invite people to attend.
Just as I did.
Some people said they couldn't attend. And, some said they would. So, we had many people there!
The time we spent together, was wonderful. We were all blessed, even when our pastor spoke for a short time.
Of course, our meal was absolutely delicious!
A friend who lives in my apartment building arrived and sat at the table with my daughter B, her daughter (my granddaughter) A, plus B's friend T and her seven (7) month old baby boy, S.
For a few minutes, I went and introduced myself to others who attended, who I didn't know.
The funny thing was, that one person let me know he worshipped at another church, where my neighbour who attended, worships.
Then, another funny thing happened.
Two (2) sisters, who are my sisters in the Lord, who worked hard to present our dinner event, came and talked with my neighbour. They apparently, used to worship where my neighbour does.
This truly touched my heart.
You see, even though my neighbour loves that church where they all worshipped in the past, my neighbour has also went and worshipped, elsewhere from time to time.
I must admit, I truly was happy to hear this.
After all, not everyone gets together with brothers and sisters in the Lord, to worship. Some Christians do not see the need to do so
Even though God told us, in Hebrews 10:23-25, "Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."
Just as we read, we Christians should not forsake the assembling of ourselves, together. God prefers us to gather together, to consider one another, and exhort one another.
Whether or not anyone who attended our Friday evening dinner will ever come to worship with us, no one but God, knows.
And, it truly doesn't matter. Well, as long as they are worshipping elsewhere.
My friend, if you aren't worshipping, please do so.
For when we are obedient to God, He blesses us.
Until next time...
