Rejoice!

Every other SONday, when I am well enough to do so, I let you know here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), that I'm going to worship with my church family.  Just as I am saying, today.

Like I've said before, we worship in spirit and in truth.  And, through music.

What we will sing during our worship service today, is unknown to me.  But, I feel that even though Christmas has now passed, we need to rejoice.  Rejoice, over the birth of Christ.  Rejoice, every day of the year!

The music I'm sharing today, is actually an advent Christian hymn, by John Mason Neale and Henry Sloan Coffin.  It's entitled, O Come, O Come, Emmanuel.  Here's a link for you to listen to and/or sing along: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RP4iyJqrPvY .  The lyrics of this recording, are below.

O Come, O Come, Emmanuel

O come, O come, Emmanuel
And ransom captive Israel
That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appears.

Rejoice, rejoice, Emmanuel!
Shall come to thee, O Israel!

O come, Thou Dayspring, come and cheer
Thy people with Thine advent here;
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night
And, death's dark shadows put to flight.

Rejoice, rejoice, Emmanuel!
Shall come to thee, O Israel!

O come, Thou Rod of Jesse's, free
Thine own from Satan's tyranny
From depths of Hell, Thy people save
And, give them victory o'er the grave.

Rejoice, rejoice, Emmanuel!
Shall come to thee, O Israel!

Rejoice, rejoice, Emmanuel!
Shall come to thee, O Israel!

How grateful I am that prophecy was fulfilled.  God sent His only begotten Son to earth, to Israel.  Just as those lyrics, say.

Even though not all Jews accepted Jesus at that time, God opened the door for each of us in the world, to gain salvation, by trusting in/believing upon our Lord, Jesus Christ.

For this, I am thankful.  And, always will be.  Especially, since I rejoice in what God did for us.

Just as we read, in Philippians 4:4, "Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice."

My friend, rejoice.  Rejoice.  Rejoice, always.

If you do, you will be blessed.

Until next time...
