If you read yesterday's Life with Lynnie (LwL) entry, you'll know that I discussed someone who has been part of my life. Well, as a friend, many years ago.
As you hopefully read, this person is a minister.
A couple of my Facebook (FB) friends read the entry. And, they both commented on it.
One FB friend let me know that... if you don't have the attributes of Christ they are none of His.
The other, let me know that... her mom has been a church goer all her life, and has taught Sunday school, and plays the church organ. She said... her mom isn't a born-again Christian.
Her brother however, attended a secular university. And, he apparently is a Methodist minister, who is born-again.
I must admit, I have to agree with both of these friends who commented.
Even though that friend of mine who I wrote about is a minister, he has never ever said that he is a born-again Christian. Plus, he works for a group that considers themselves Christian, yet teach all in the world that sin is acceptable to God... when it isn't. In addition, he considers himself to be a follower of Christ.
Is being a follower of Christ the same as being a born-again Christian? To be honest, I do not know.
Only God knows for sure.
However, I must admit that I have never read in God's Word, the Bible about gaining salvation by being a follower of Christ.
What we are told is that we need to be born-again.
Just as we read, in John 3:3, "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."
Just as Jesus said... except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
This is why I do whatever I can to preach the gospel to all the creatures of the world. Just as God told us to do.
I do it... and plant seeds for Christ, to everyone who needs salvation, whenever and wherever I can... to all who are not born-again believers.
Like those who are atheists, and those who do not believe they even need to know God. Plus of course, Muslims and other groups who have gods who do not provide salvation.
So, is my minister friend I wrote about a born-again Christian?
I must admit, I do not know for sure. But, hopefully he is. Or, will be.
And, I feel the same for you, who read Life with Lynnie (LwL).
Please know that I adore you, and will pray for you. Always.
Hopefully, you are or will become, born-again!
Until next time...
