Not Yet!

Here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I'm telling you what I'll be doing today.

With it being our SONday, like I have done for a while now, I'll be picking up my granddaughter A, and bringing her to worship with my church family!  :)

I should tell you that A truly likes attending Sunday school!  For this, I praise God!  Thank You, Lord!

Knowing that a few days ago was Remembrance Day, I was drawn to share with you a hymn entitled, The Battle Hymn of the Republic.  Here's a link for you to listen and/or sing along:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5iOF0_z7MM.  The lyrics are below.

The Battle Hymn of the Republic

Mine eyes have seen the glory
Of the coming of the Lord
He is trampling out the vintage
Where the grapes of wrath are stored
He has loosed the fateful lightening
Of His terrible swift sword
His truth is marching on

Glory, glory, hallelujah
Glory, glory, hallelujah
Glory, glory, hallelujah
His Truth is marching on

I have seen him in the watch-fires
Of a hundred circling camps
They have builded him an altar
In the evening dews and damps
I can read his righteous sentence
By the dim and flaring lamps
His truth is marching on

Glory, glory, hallelujah
Glory, glory, hallelujah
Glory, glory, hallelujah
His Truth is marching on

I have read a fiery gospel
Writ in burnish'd rows of steel
As ye deal with my condemners
So with you my grace shall deal
Let the hero, born of woman
Crush the serpent with his heel
His truth is marching on

Glory, glory, hallelujah
Glory, glory, hallelujah
Glory, glory, hallelujah
His Truth is marching on

He has sounded forth the trumpet
That shall never call retreat
He is sifting out the hearts of men
Before His judgment-seat
Oh, be swift, my soldier answer
Oh, be jubilant, my feet
His Truth is marching on

Glory, glory, hallelujah
Glory, glory, hallelujah

In the beauty of the lilies
Christ was born across the sea
With a glory in his bosom
That transfigures you and me
As he died to make men holy
Let us die to make men free
His Truth is marching on

Glory, glory, hallelujah
Glory, glory, hallelujah
Glory, glory, hallelujah
His Truth is marching on

While there are other recordings of this hymn, I truly felt it was worthwhile to share this version with you.  After all, it seemed to be based on WW2.

Even though it showed what Americans were doing, they weren't alone.  They were part of a group called... Allies.

Many countries worked together in the allied intention.

As did many people.  Including both my parents, as I've said, previously.

Yes, war was fought by many people, from many countries.

Thinking of this reminded me of Matthew 24:6, "And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet."

Just as we read in today's Bible verse, we did hear of war.  And, participated in it.

Since then, we've heard of rumours of wars.  But, we were told to not be troubled, for all these things must come to pass.  And, they have.

Just as we were told... the end is not yet.

We are still here on earth.  And, there is still much fighting going on.

Fighting physically.  And, fighting spiritually.

My friend, please join me in prayer.

Let us pray that those who have not yet come to Christ to gain salvation, will do so, before it's too late.

Thank you.  May God bless you.

Until next time...
