Believe it or not, I still have more to discuss here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), regarding last Saturday!
After enjoying lunch with my friends and church family, last Saturday, I did a bit of shopping. Then, headed home.
Even though I felt totally worn out and felt exhausted, I did some computer work. Then, enjoyed a nap for about an hour.
Once I finished some more computer work, I made my way back to meet up at my church building.
You see, we were having a women's group meeting!
The group meeting was a fun time. It was being held as an auction... to raise money to be donated for God's use, in the future.
Almost everyone brought a wrapped gift.
It didn't have to be new. But, it was to be in good condition.
Whoever wanted to participate in the auction, chose a number sign so they could bid. Then, after the auction was finished, everyone paid for the items they obtained.
My friend C had joined us, again. She had her daughter C with her. Plus, she brought her friend, N. And, N's mom, S.
Knowing that C's friends didn't realize they needed to bring anything to donate, C actually brought quite a few items.
I must admit, I truly enjoyed our time having the auction. And, so did others.
Our pastor, who was upstairs, heard us all laugh.
It was fun. Even though we had no idea what we were offering to buy.
But, we truly had a time of laughter and fun, together!
Thinking about how my friend C had actually brought various things to be auctioned individually, made me think about how she was literally giving things to others. Much like I did, along with everyone else who participated.
But, C didn't do this just for herself. She did it to help the friends she brought with her.
This brought to mind, Luke 6:38, "Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again."
Yes, we need to give, just as we just read in today's Bible verse. For, it shall be given unto all who give, with the same measure, and it shall be measured to you, again.
This truly happened. In some ways to each of us. But, in other ways, to C and to me.
You see, knowing that C has been selling Avon, and knowing that she had literally given away some products for the auction, and knowing I had actually purchased (on purpose, knowing what was in it) a bag with Avon products that I didn't need, I had done so, because I thought about giving it back to C, after the auction.
After the auction, while enjoying some food again, I asked C if she would take back her Avon items. C agreed. So, I gave her back her Avon products.
After all, I thought it was nice of her to have donated them for the auction. But, I also thought it would be good for her to be able to either sell those items, or give them as gifts to people.
Instead of just taking them back, C responded by giving me a gift she paid for, during the auction.
It was an item that she knew I'd enjoy having.
Because C knows that I adore Paris.
You see, she had purchased a gift bag that had in it, an item that had a picture of the Eiffel Tower, in Paris.
C gave it to me.
She didn't need to. But, she knew it would make me happy. And, it did.
Thank you, C!
May God bless you, C. Not just for your giving that gift to me. But, also for your loving and caring heart.
I do believe, both C and I felt blessed.
My reader friend, may you be blessed, also.
Until next time...
