Darkness and Light...

Like normal, I'm letting you know here on Life with Lynnie (LwL) that I am going to meet up with my church family.

On my way there, I'll be heading to my daughter B's home.  Why?  To pick up her daughter (my granddaughter), A!

I must admit that I missed having A with me last SONday.

I'm truly looking forward to having her with me, today.  You see, she's been improving with me, by joining in during the beginning of our worship service.

In fact, instead of being bored having music she didn't know about, she was actually singing with us, a couple of weeks ago... when she could!  For this, I praise God!

Thinking about music, I need to tell you about a hymn that I thought I'd share with you, today.

It was written by H. Ernest Nichol, and is entitled, A Story to Tell to the Nations.  Here's a link, so you can listen to and/or sing along:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkNNtHAQWDo.  The lyrics are below.

We've A Story to Tell to the Nations

We’ve a story to tell to the nations,
That shall turn their hearts to the right,
A story of truth and mercy,
A story of peace and light,
A story of peace and light.

For the darkness shall turn to dawning,
And the dawning to noonday bright;
And Christ’s great kingdom shall come to earth,
The kingdom of love and light.

We’ve a song to be sung to the nations,
That shall lift their hearts to the Lord,
A song that shall conquer evil
And shatter the spear and sword,
And shatter the spear and sword.

For the darkness shall turn to dawning,
And the dawning to noonday bright;
And Christ’s great kingdom shall come to earth,
The kingdom of love and light.

We’ve a message to give to the nations,
That the Lord who reigneth above
Has sent us His Son to save us,
And show us that God is love,
And show us that God is love.

For the darkness shall turn to dawning,
And the dawning to noonday bright;
And Christ’s great kingdom shall come to earth,
The kingdom of love and light.

We’ve a Savior to show to the nations,
Who the path of sorrow has trod,
That all of the world’s great peoples
Might come to the truth of God,
Might come to the truth of God.

For the darkness shall turn to dawning,
And the dawning to noonday bright;
And Christ’s great kingdom shall come to earth,
The kingdom of love and light.

As the lyrics say, darkness shall turn to dawning and dawning to noonday bright.  Christ's great kingdom shall come to earth, the kingdom of love and light.

Whenever I hear and/or sing those lyrics I think about how we have been darkness.  And, how once we've come to Christ, we become part of His kingdom... of love and light.

Just like we read, in Ephesians 5:8, "For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:"

Yes, we were sometimes in darkness.  At least, I was, to be sure.

But now, I am light in the Lord.  And, do all I can to walk as a child of light.  Jesus's light.

How did I become light in the Lord?

By trusting in/believing upon our Lord, Jesus Christ.  Plus, I read God's Word, the Bible, every day.

For by gaining salvation, we become saved... and, belong to Him.

Reading the Bible, educates us.

For this, I am truly thankful.  And, will always be.  Thank You, Lord!

Until next time...
