Greater!

Being SONday, I'll let you know here on Life with Lynnie (LwL) that I will be going to worship with my church family.  Just as I normally do!

Like always, I will worship in spirit and in truth.  And, through music!

There's a hymn that I've always enjoyed.

It was by Julia H. Johnston and Daniel B. Towner, and is entitled, Grace Greater than Our Sin.  Here is a link for you to listen and/or sing along:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8zlq5k5S0M.  The lyrics are below.

Grace Greater than Our Sin

Marvelous grace of our loving Lord,
Grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt!
Yonder on Calvary’s mount outpoured,
There where the blood of the Lamb was spilled.

(Refrain)
Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that is greater than all our sin.

N.B.  These next non-Italic lyrics were not recorded:)

Sin and despair, like the sea waves cold,
Threaten the soul with infinite loss;
Grace that is greater, yes, grace untold,
Points to the refuge, the mighty cross.

(Refrain)

Dark is the stain that we cannot hide.
What can avail to wash it away?
Look! There is flowing a crimson tide,
Brighter than snow you may be today.

(Refrain)

Marvelous, infinite, matchless grace,
Freely bestowed on all who believe!
You that are longing to see His face,
Will you this moment His grace receive?

Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that is greater than all our sin.

These lyrics truly touch my heart.

After all, they not only say that we have sinned, but that we have God's grace.  Grace that is greater than all our sin.

Thinking of God's grace, brought to mind Ephesians 2:8-9, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast."

Grace.  God's grace.

It's the only grace that we can be saved by.  Through faith, and not of ourselves.  It's the gift of God... not of anything/works we can do, lest any man should/would boast.

There's absolutely nothing any of us can do, to gain salvation.

It all comes from God.

How can you receive salvation?

Trust in/believe upon our Lord, Jesus Christ and you shall be saved (Acts 16:31).

Until next time...
