Did you read Life with Lynnie (LwL) yesterday?
Hopefully, so. For if you did, you'll know that I had been asked to sing during a worship service, with a different church family than where I normally, do.
You may wonder how the missions group knew I enjoy singing. Well, it's because I had been heard singing a few years back by a sister in the Lord, D who worships with another different church family.
After getting together again a while ago, she let me know she enjoyed my singing. Just so you know, I prefer singing a capella (without music).
In fact, D asked me to sing at a meeting she was in charge of arranging, with the women with whom she worships.
It was on Tuesday, September 15th, when I sang for her church's women's group. Here's a link, for you to check it out, in case you'd like to go worship, there with them: http://www.lynnieministries.blogspot.ca/2015/09/tuesday-september-15-2015.html.
Riverside Baptist Church, is a sister church to where I worship, at Walkerville Evangelical Baptist Church. In fact, in the past, I've worshipped there, several times.
But, this was a blessing to me, being asked to sing for the women's meeting. Thank you, Lord! And, thank you, D!
Just so you know, my friend D works for another church group. It was D, who told Grant D. Fairley that I would probably agree to worship and sing, where he needed someone to help.
For this, I am truly thankful to God, as I've said before. Not just for singing. But, also for doing it to honour and glorify our Lord.
Much like we read, in Colossians 3:17, "And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him."
Yes, I'll always be thankful.
No, I'm not perfect. But, I love our Lord. And, am so thankful to God!
You see, it's been a while since I have been asked to do anything like this. Especially, since I've had so many repeated surgeries over the last three+ years!
But, I love to work for Him. And, honour and glorify Him!
Later on Sunday afternoon, I dropped by to see a Christian sister in the Lord, who had asked me to drop by her home. This is someone I only met a few months ago.
Until our conversation when we got together, she didn't know I sang. She recognized the church group, where I had sung, but had no idea I would even do what I did.
She asked me to sing for her. I did.
Then, she asked if I would sing at her church, if they requested me to do so. I let her know I would.
So this fairly new friend let me know that she would let her church's office know that I would be willing to do this. And, she's hoping they will ask me to sing.
I know that if God wills it, it will be done.
So, I'll trust Him. Just as I've always done.
Until next time...
