Truest Love...

In the past, I've written here on Life with Lynnie (LwL) about songs that have resonated within me.  Today, will be one of those days.

I must admit, I wasn't sure if I should discuss this issue, or not.

Especially, since it was something that happened when I awoke on the day of my deceased husband Gordon's birthday.  On the morning of July 31st.

Since then, it has been on my mind so much, that I decided God must want me to let you know about it.

The song is by Elvis Presley, and is entitled, Puppet On A String.  Here is a link for you to listen and/or sing along: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P96A5esw-xI .  The lyrics are below.

Puppet On A String

Every time you look at me
I'm as helpless as can be
I become a puppet on a string
You can do 'most anything with me

All you do is touch my hand
And your wish is my command
I become a puppet on a string
And you can do 'most anything with me

If you really love me
Darling please be kind
I offer you the truest love
That you will ever find

Take my heart and please be fair
Handle it with loving care
For I'm just a puppet on a string
You can do 'most anything with me

If you really love me
Darling please be kind
I offer you the truest love
That you will ever find

Take my heart and please be fair
Handle it with loving care
For I'm just a puppet on a string
You can do 'most anything with me
You can do 'most anything with me

The lyrics of this song, truly touched my heart.

Especially, the chorus... where it says, "If you really love me, Darling please be kind, I offer you the truest love, That you will ever find."

Some people might think it was Gordon placing these thoughts on my mind.

But, I don't believe so.  After all, he is not the person in control.

God is who usually has music resonating inside me.  Music that is on my heart and mind, even as I wake up.

With the chorus repeating itself over and over inside me, it made me think about how God truly loves me.

His love is the truest love anyone could ever find.

Thinking of this brought to mind 1 John 4:7-11, "Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.
10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another."

I believe God used this music/lyrics to touch my heart.  And, to remind me that we, here on earth, need to love one another.

I believe He used this music, to remind me that even though Gordon truly loved me, His love is so much stronger.

God provided for me.

Not just through Gordon.  But, in many ways in my life.

God's loved me with an everlasting love.  A love that can never be taken away from me.

He has offered me the truest love, that I will ever find.  And, I have received it from Him.

For this, I am truly thankful.  Thank You, Lord!

Until next time...
