Speak Truth!

From time to time, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I address issues that require prayer.  And, help.  Today, this is what I'll be doing.

Not too long ago, I received an e-mail from Jay Sekulow, the Chief Counsel for the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ).

Here is what that e-mail message said:

Lynn,

Two Christian Pastors have just been banned from leaving Sudan.

Their lives are again in great danger.

Pastors Michael and Peter were recently released from a possible death sentence, but they are not truly free.

Sudan's National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS) - the same radical Islamists that charged these two innocent pastors with false "crimes" for their faith carrying the death penalty - placed a travel ban on the pastors.

They can't return home. They can't reach safety. They and their families are at risk.

We're mobilizing our international offices and preparing critical legal letters to Sudan. It must allow these two South Sudanese pastors to leave Sudan and travel to safety.

We are taking swift action, but Pastors Michael and Peter need to hear from you again. Your voice led to their release, but they will not be truly free until they are safely out of Sudan. Be heard again.

Then, a few days ago, I received another e-mail message from ACLJ.  Here's what it said:

Lynn,

ISIS is brutal beyond words.

It is beheading, raping, and selling Christians.

A Christian priest was kidnapped, held for ransom, and then chopped into pieces and mailed to his devastated family.

For more than a year, ISIS's jihadist army has been on a bloody rampage, profiting from genocide, and tracking down Christians for sale and slaughter.

It kidnaps Christians. It massacres Christians.

Christians are dying every day.

At the ACLJ, we've been aggressively working in Congress and through our global offices - including in the region - to defend persecuted Christians. We're leading the charge.

America must not be silent. Unless we defeat and destroy ISIS, Christians in the region will be exterminated.

Christians facing ISIS genocide desperately need your voice. They must not be forgotten.
Take direct action with us to defend persecuted Christians from jihadist genocide.

Sign Our New Petition: Stop ISIS's Genocide of Christians.

In addition, I need to let you know that after I signed the petitions, ACLJ asked me to speak up/out.  I was thanked by e-mail for doing so.

I realize that some of you may not agree with me speaking about Islam, and what they are doing to Christians, and to all infidels... those who are not believers in Islam.  However, I do believe we need to speak up.

If we don't speak up/out, how can others know what is happening?

How could there be enough people to help those who are being persecuted for their Christian faith?

You may laugh, when I remind you that I am not American.  I am Canadian.

My friend, even if you are not American, you can sign their petitions.  And, by doing so, you will help your brothers and sisters in the Lord.

Also, I believe that since we do not have a group here in Canada, doing the same work that ACLJ does, we need to stand up in support of them.  And, speak out.

Just as we read, in Zechariah 8:16, "These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates:"

Truth... is so-o-o very important.

Not just to us.

But, also to God.

We need to speak truth.  Always.  For this is what God would have us do.

My friend, I must ask... are you speaking up/out?

Are you speaking truth?

Are you doing whatever you can to help brothers and sisters in Christ?

Hopefully, so.

After all, this is what Jesus did for you.

Until next time...
