Never To Be Forgotten!

Here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I will be telling you about something that is a memory, many will never forget!

Who is this that will always remember? Me, and my family.

Last Wednesday, July 29th, my daughter P, her boyfriend K, her children (my grandchildren), my grandson D's girlfriend, plus my daughter B's son N (my grandson), came to visit me. :)

We had arranged for all eight (8) of us, to relax in the swimming pool for a while. Then, we were going to BBQ for supper.

Did we do this?

Well, I can only say... yes. And, no.

Once everyone arrived, my daughter P's boyfriend, K and a couple of my grandsons did something for me. K removed the filter from my air-conditioner (A/C). Once it was ready to be re-installed, he proceeded to do it.

Unfortunately, he had trouble replacing the filter, so a couple of my grandsons also tried to do it. Eventually, the majority of the filter was put back in place. But, the whole thing cannot go in, again. :(

Even so, my A/C was turned on. I was happy that I was finally able to use it, this summer! Thank you, K and my grandsons!

We went down to the deck area, where both the BBQ and the swimming pool are located.

Some went in the pool. Then others joined in. That is, everyone except K.

I truly feel badly he wasn't able to get in the pool.

You see, after we were all in there for a few minutes, other people began to leave the pool. And, a man who is on our membership board, came and told us we needed to leave the pool.

I asked why? He responded that there was lightning in the distance.

When I turned around, I couldn't see any lightning, but did see that dark clouds were arriving.

Out we went.

At first, I thought we should go inside the apartment building, and figure out what to do. But, my family/visitors thought that since the BBQ area is covered as well as the eating area, we would be okay to stay out there.

I placed the meat and potatoes on the BBQ.

A few minutes later, the wind picked up. It was so strong that things were blowing away, including my tin foil! :(

After discussing again, about changing our plan, it was decided that we would be okay to stay out there.

The rain came. It was so strong, and blowing so hard since the wind was strong, that we decided to return into the building.

It broke my heart that my daughter P suffered greatly.

As you're probably aware, she had surgery on her foot about a month ago. Unfortunately, she is still not healed well enough to stand on her foot. So, she had to literally hop along, using her crutches. :(

Even so, I was truly grateful that God provided for us! No one was hurt by this troublesome time of horrible weather!

Praise God! Hallelujah!

Thinking about this, brought to mind Ephesians 3:13-19, "Wherefore I desire that ye faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory.

14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,

16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;

19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God
."

I praise God that He provided so that no one was hurt, even though it was truly troublesome.

In my mind, I bowed my knees unto God, and thanked Him. Not just silently, but also aloud!

God showed us His love for us, by ensuring no one was struck by the lightning that occurred when we were all trying to get into the building.

Thank You, Lord!

We were all soaking wet. Some got changed into dry clothing they had on hand. So, did I.

Then, dry towels were given to those who needed to be wrapped up. Their wet bathing suits, clothing, and towels were rinsed and placed in the dryers.

I placed our food into the oven to finish cooking. And, we gathered around my living room area.

Together, we enjoyed conversation. And, our semi-BBQ'd dinner.

Thinking about how that day seemed to become a tragedy, I commented that even though it turned out to be not as fun a time as we expected, it was definitely a memory that would never be forgotten!

How thankful I was and still am, that God loved us so much, that He took care of us. And, provided.

Once again, I thank You, Lord! You are always such a blessing to me!

Until next time...
