Once again, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I'll be telling you about my time in Laughlin, Nevada, USA.
While spending my time there, I felt very relaxed.
You probably are aware that I read my Bible. Well, while I was there, I did a lot of reading!
Also, I spent time in the pool.
It was wonderful exercising in the pool. After all, I enjoy doing this, even at home!
While there, I met several people though. We had nice conversations.
One woman I met, was there with her husband and family.
Apparently, they lived in California. They regularly travelled there, so they could have a fairly inexpensive holiday, where they could spend a lot of time jet skiing on the Colorado River.
She let me know that this was the last vacation she would have with her family, for a while. She had health problems, and was scheduled to have neck surgery, shortly after they were due to arrive home.
It was wonderful meeting her. We had friendly conversation, as you can tell. And, we prayed, together.
There is something else I need to let you know about.
As I have done in the past, I met a Facebook (FB) friend.
To be honest, we had been friends for quite a while. And, he had let me know he was Canadian, even though he lived in Arizona.
When he found out quite a while ago, that I had a cousin I would sometimes visit in Arizona, he told me that I needed to let him know if/when I was planning a trip. He wanted to meet with me.
I should let you know that in the past, I met a FB friend from Germany, who visited with her husband in Canada a few years ago. We talk by phone and chat on FB, regularly.
So, this wasn't a problem for me.
We arranged to meet in the lobby of the reception area of the hotel where I was staying.
There were some chairs in the area, so we enjoyed conversation there for a while. Then, we decided to enter the restaurant.
While enjoying conversation, we enjoyed tea, together.
I must admit, I thank R for driving from his home. I'm glad it was only about a 20 minute drive for him.
It was a true blessing, getting together with a FB friend!
Hopefully, the next time I'm in that area, we'll get together for tea, again. Or, if he ever returns to Canada, and is close to where I live.
Thank You, Lord!
You made my time there, wonderful.
Thinking of this, brought to mind James 1:4, "But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing."
While this verse may not truly be meant for the time I experienced in Laughlin, I do feel it applies to me.
After all, He provided for me, by answering prayer. To the point where I didn't feel badly about being there, without any family or friends.
I must admit, while there, I wanted nothing.
Thank You, Lord!
Until next time...
