But, it's July 12th!
Today's date is known to be The Twelfth, and is also called Orangemen's Day. It is a bank holiday, in Northern Ireland, to commemorate The Battle of Boyne.
My Facebook (FB) friend, D shared a song that I had never before heard. To me, it was a wonderful song.
Plus, it was an Irish song. An Irish song that focused on our Lord.
So, I decided to share it today.
The song is sung by Robin Mark, a Northern Ireland musical evangelist, and is entitled, When Its All Been Said And Done. Here is a link so you can listen and/or sing along: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=POU7foVgTpc . The lyrics are below.
When Its All Been Said And Done
When it's all been said and done
There is just one thing that matters
Did I do my best to live for truth?
Did I live my life for you?
When it's all been said and done
All my treasures will mean nothing
Only what I have done
For love's rewards
Will stand the test of time
Lord, your mercy is so great
That you look beyond our weakness
And find purest gold in miry clay
Making sinners into saints
I will always sing your praise
Here on earth and ever after
For you've shown me Heaven's my true home
When it's all been said and done
You're my life when life is gone...
When it's all been said and done
There is just one thing that matters
Did I do my best to live for truth?
Did I live my life for you?
Lord, I'll live my life for You...
These lyrics are truly wonderful. At least, to me.
They talk about living our lives for our Lord. And, about how anything/treasures we have here on earth, truly mean nothing.
As quoted, love's rewards will stand the test of time.
Our Lord's mercy is so great, that He will look beyond our weakness and find purest gold in miry clay.
Making sinners into saints.
These lyrics reminded me of the fact that I live for Christ.
Just as we read in Philippians 1:21, "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain."
While the Apostle Paul said that, I think the same way. And, do everything I can, to live my life that way.
Hopefully, you do too, my friend.
Happy Orangemen's Day!
Until next time...
