Lately, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I've discussed things that happened on Father's Day.
One thing I would like to discuss is a hymn. It's one that we sang during our worship service, last SONday!
Most of you are probably familiar with it. It was written by Phil Keaggy and is entitled, Rise Up, O Men of God. Here is a link for you to listen and/or sing along: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ap80RP-L0k . The lyrics are below.
Rise Up, O Men of God
Rise up O men of God,
Have done with lesser things.
Give heart and soul and mind and strength,
To serve the King of Kings.
Rise up O men of God,
His Kingdom tarries long,
Bring in the day of brotherhood,
And end the night of wrong.
Rise up O men of God,
The Church for you doth wait.
Her strength unequal to her task;
Rise up and make her great.
Lift high the Cross of Christ,
Tread where His feet have trod,
As brothers of the Son of Man,
Rise up O men of God.
Yes, men of God need to rise up. And, serve God.
When they do, they will be rewarded.
Just as we read, in Colossians 3:23-24, "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ."
Yes, men need to stand up for Christ. And, do everything heartily, unto our Lord... and not unto men.
By doing so, they shall receive the reward of inheritance, for serving our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Everyone needs to put God, first in their lives. And, do everything for Him, and not for mankind.
So my friend, rise up! And, do what you can... for Him!
He'll be honoured.
And, you'll be blessed.
Until next time...
