It's been a while since I discussed something on Life with Lynnie (LwL). I'm referring to Christian Singles Café.
If you know me, or if you've read LwL for a while, you'll know that once a month, I meet with Christian singles. We meet up on the first Saturday of each month, at 7 p.m. at Tim Hortons, on Tecumseh Rd. E. (next door to Red Lobster restaurant and Joseph's Market), here in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
As I've said in the past, we used to have as many as 30 people get together. However, after being off and unable to attend for so long, due to having had repeated surgeries/operations, I found our group dropped to very few.
Why? I'm not really sure.
However, I know that some people left the group, because they got married. Some moved away from here, and could no longer attend. And, some died, unfortunately.
Even so, last Saturday, I picked up a lady that was going to join us for the first time. :)
Another friend joined us. I was happy that she did. You see, no one else attended.
Sigh...
Tim Hortons is a great place to meet. And, we did enjoy our time together!
Just so you know, that particular location of Tim Hortons is not the closest to where I live. In fact, there are two (2) other locations that are much closer.
Even so, I tend to meet there, from time to time. Just as I did again, yesterday.
I met with my friend A. That particular Tim Hortons is about half-way between where we both live. So, it's a good location to meet at.
As you may know, A is also a widow. However, we only meet during the day. Not during any evenings.
Hopefully, A enjoyed our time together, as much as I did! I must admit, I was truly happy about spending time with A, since it had been a very long time, since we met and enjoyed time, together.
To me, it's wonderful spending time together with friends.
Not just married friends.
But especially, fellow single friends. Friends who are Christian.
Why?
Some people might think we get together to find someone to love. To some people that might be what they think and want.
To me, it's about getting together to be able to get out of my home and enjoy some time out, for a change.
Spending time with friends out and about, can be refreshing. It can be encouraging to each other. And, comforting. Especially since not being married, means it can be very lonely at times, at home.
Thinking of this, brought to mind 1 Thessalonians 5:11, "Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do."
Yes, we need to comfort ourselves together. And, edify whenever it is needed.
To me, it is amazing how God has provided for us. And, told us what to do with our lives.
It is because He loves us. His children.
Are you one of His children? I am.
I became His child, when I gained salvation by trusting in/believing upon our Lord, Jesus Christ.
That is the only way any of us can get to Heaven, one day. There is no other way.
So, my friend... if you haven't yet come to Christ, now is the time. Tomorrow, may be too late.
Until next time...
