Once again, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I am letting you know that I will be heading to meet up with my church family.
After all, today is our Lord's Day!
So, we will study God's Word, the Bible. And, we will worship, together. :)
Of course, music is so very important to me. Especially, when it honours Him.
A few weeks ago, we sang a hymn during our worship service that has always touched my heart.
It was written by Will L. Thompson and is entitled, Jesus Is All The World To Me. Here is a link for you to listen to and/or sing along: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jh6TR7Szlgc. The lyrics are below.
Jesus Is All The World To Me
Jesus is all the world to me,
My life, my joy, my all;
He is my strength from day to day,
Without Him I would fall.
When I am sad to Him I go,
No other one can cheer me so;
When I am sad He makes me glad,
He's my friend.
Jesus is all the world to me,
And true to Him I'll be;
O how could I this Friend deny,
When He's so true to me?
Following Him I know I'm right,
He watches o'er me day and night;
Following Him by day and night,
He's my Friend.
Jesus is all the world to me,
I want no better friend;
I trust Him now, I'll trust Him when
Life's fleeting days shall end.
Beautiful life with such a Friend;
Beautiful life that has no end;
Eternal life, eternal joy,
He's my Friend.
Yes, Jesus is my friend. He's all the world, to me!
I do for Him, what He desires.
Why?
Because it is necessary.
Just as He told us, in John 15:14, "Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you."
Some people think that all they have to do is believe Jesus existed in the world. This is not really what God expects of us.
Of course, even non-Christians believe Jesus existed. People recognize that He truly lived here on earth. Even if they don't love Him.
But, if we want to be His friends, we need to be committed to Him. We need to do whatever He commands us.
I do whatever I can, to glorify and honour Him. By doing so, I believe I am His friend.
Are you His friend?
Are you only believing Jesus lived on this earth? Or, are you truly trusting in/believing upon Him, to gain salvation?
Even if you believe you are saved, are you doing whatsoever He commanded?
If so, you are also His friend. I'll be grateful, for this means I will one day see you, in Heaven.
Until next time...
