Once again, I will let you know about some music, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL).
Recently, I awoke one morning with a song on my mind.
Yes, this happens from time to time. And, I usually wonder why.
However, today I believe I know why. Just as I discussed, yesterday here on LwL.
The song is by Hall & Oates entitled, You Make My Dreams. Here is a link for you to listen and/or sing along: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wIyiQ9DrCf8. The lyrics are below.
You Make My Dreams
What I want you've got
And it might be hard to handle
Like the flame that burns the candle
The candle feeds the flame, yeah, yeah
What I've got's full stock
Of thoughts and dreams that scatter
Then you pull them all together
And how I can't explain
Oh, yeah
Well, well you
You make my dreams come true
(You-hoo, you, you-hoo, hoo, you, hoo)
Well, well, well you
(You-hoo, you, you-hoo, hoo, you, hoo)
Oh, yeah you make my dreams come true.
Well, yeah!
On a night when bad dreams become a screamer
When they're messin' with the dreamer
I can laugh it in the face
Twist and shout my way out
And wrap yourself around me
'Cos I ain't the way you found me
And I'll never be the same
Oh, yeah
Well, 'cos you
You make my dreams come true
(You-hoo, you, you-hoo, hoo, you, hoo)
Well, yeah
Well, well, well you
(You-hoo, hoo-hoo-ooh)
You make my dreams come true
(You-hoo, you, you-hoo, hoo, you, hoo)
Oh yeah
Listen to this...
I'm down on my daydream
Oh, that sleepwalk should be over by now
I know
'Bout you
Yeah, yeah
You make my dreams come true
(You-hoo, you, you-hoo, hoo, you, hoo)
Oh, yeah
I've waited, waited for you, girl
Oh, yeah
You make my dreams come true
(You make my dreams)
(You-hoo, you, you-hoo, hoo, you, hoo)
Me, you, me, you and me...
I've been waiting for, waiting for you, girl
All my life...
You make my dreams come true
(You-hoo, you, you-hoo, hoo, you, hoo)
I've been waiting for, waiting for
Waiting for, waiting for...
You make my dreams, oh
I've been waiting for you, girl
I must admit... yes... He's waited for me. Throughout most of my life.
But, I believe I now make His dreams come true.
You see, like God said about each and every one of us, I was not a perfect person. And, am still not, either.
Earlier in my life, my focus wasn't always on Him. And, on His Word, the Bible.
But, today... it is.
Thinking about Jesus being my focus, brought to mind Colossians 2:6-10, "As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:"
Just as we read here in today's Bible verses, once we have received Christ Jesus, we need to walk in/with Him.
We need to be rooted and built up in Him, established in faith, just as we've been taught, abounding with being thankful.
We must not let any person spoil us, through secularism... focusing on human philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men and the world, instead of Christ.
For in Christ dwells all the fullness of the Godhead. And, we are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.
I will not allow anyone to try and convince me I need to focus on people and the way the unsaved think. I will continue to focus on my Lord.
For this, I will always be thankful. Thank You, Lord!
Until next time...
