Once again, I'm letting you know here on Life with Lynnie (LwL) that I'll be going to worship with my church family.
Of course, I'll go early enough to join in with my Bible study/Adult Sunday school group, that meets about an hour before our worship service.
Together, we'll worship... in spirit, and in truth. And, with music.
Thinking about music... I came across a hymn that was by William Longstaff and George Stebbins that is entitled, Take Time to Be Holy. Here is a link for you to listen to and/or sing along: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qIxD9By43mc. The lyrics are below.
Take Time to Be Holy
Take time to be holy, speak oft with thy Lord;
Abide in Him always and feed on His Word.
Make friends of God's children
Help those who are weak;
Forgetting in nothing His blessing to seek.
Take time to be holy, the world rushes on;
Spend much time in secret with Jesus alone.
By looking to Jesus,
Like Him thou shalt be;
Thy friends in thy conduct His likeness shall see.
Take time to be holy, let Him be thy Guide,
And run not before Him, whatever betide.
In joy or in sorrow
Still follow thy Lord,
And, looking to Jesus, still trust in His Word.
(this verse is not recorded:)
Take time to be holy, be calm in thy soul--
Each thought and each motive beneath His control.
Thus led by His Spirit
To fountains of love,
Thou soon shall be fitted for service above.
Take time to be holy
With Jesus, alone.
Take time to be holy...
Yes, we must take time to be holy.
We must look to Jesus. Always.
And, we must follow Him. For, He is our Guide.
Thinking about the lyrics of this hymn made me think of 2 Timothy 1:9, "Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,".
Yes, we who belong to Him, have been saved. And, He called us with a holy calling. Not to our works, but for His own purpose and grace.
My friend, hopefully, you are part of His family.
If not, when your human life ends here on earth, you will suffer in Hell, for eternity. You 'll be separated from God... with no chance of escape.
But, if you are part of His family, I'll see you in Heaven. And, we will spend eternity with God.
Forever is a very long time.
All you need to do... is trust in/believe upon our Lord, Jesus Christ... and you will be saved (Acts 16:31).
May you be blessed with salvation.
Until net time...
