Here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I did something last evening, that I have been doing once again. It's something that didn't happen during the week, for a while at my church.
I attended our Bible Study class!
It began again, a few weeks ago. Even though I attended when it first started up, again... I wasn't able to attend each week. But, I did last evening!
In the past, our group was on Thursday evenings.
However, with so many people whose English is their second language, the numbers had been low. Especially, since many groups were meeting in homes, and speaking in their original languages.
This made our Thursday evening group end for a while.
When our pastor decided we should once again have a Bible Study class during the week, he asked people to sign up and let him know which days would be best for them. Tuesday, became the day selected.
Unfortunately, it hasn't been the best evening time for me. Especially, since I've had many other things happen that I needed to attend on Tuesdays, since our Bible Study group began.
Even so, I must admit, I appreciate being able to get together with some of my church family, for studying God's Word, the Bible. With both my pastor at times, and with our Bible Study/Adult Sunday School class teacher.
In addition, I enjoy meeting with some of my brothers and sisters in the Lord. Both on SONday mornings to study God's Word, and now on Tuesday evenings, as well.
After all, it is important for everyone to read scripture and understand what God's Word, tells us.
Just as we read, in 2 Timothy 3:16, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:"
Yes, all scripture is given by inspiration of God. And, it's profitable for doctrine... for reproof, for correction and for instruction in righteousness.
Wow! How this touches my heart!
After all, we who belong to God, truly need to know what He has told us. We need to not just understand what He says, but also what He expects of us!
Some people say they read the Bible.
Yet, they incorrectly make quotes. Or, they pick and choose scriptures, as if they were selecting from a buffet, without understanding the bigger picture.
Are you like this?
Or, do you attend Bible Study classes? Classes where you become educated in what God says, and what He wants of you?
Or, not.
My friend, if you truly are not committed to God, and don't understand His Word, the Bible, then you may be shocked with what happens during the day of judgement. When many will stand before Christ.
Instead of hearing well done, you good and faithful servant, you may hear... get away from me, I never knew you.
Please know, I will continue praying for you, my friend. Hopefully, we're on the same page.
Until next time...
