Giving...

As I mentioned yesterday, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I felt Memorial Day was a very special day. 

A day, when we who live in every country, need to celebrate the fact that people gave of themselves for our freedom.  Some, in ways that affected their lives.  And, some who gave their lives.

This is so important to me.  Even though I am Canadian.

Here in Canada, we honour those in the same way on November 11th... Remembrance Day.

But, Americans, Canadians and those from other countries worked together as allies. 

God led them.  And, guided them. 

He made a way where there wasn't one, in many ways. 

For this reason, we have freedom.  Freedom that was obtained by those who gave of themselves.

As I've said in the past, freedom... isn't free.

A price is paid, by all who give of themselves. 

Something that truly touches my heart, is the fact that many have given of themselves, not because they've had to.  Many gave of themselves, because it was part of their heart's desires.

Much like what we read, in 2 Corinthians 9:7, "Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver."

Just as God told us in this verse, we need to give because it is a heart's desire, as a cheerful giver.

Many have done this.

Some were honoured/honored on a program I watched, National Memorial Day Concert, on PBS, on Sunday evening.

For this, I will always be grateful.  And, will always remember them.
