It's been quite a while, since I mentioned here on Life with Lynnie (LwL) about something I did. I'm referring to attending a senior's dinner, at the legion.
No, I wasn't able to attend the legion on Howard Ave., in Windsor, on Monday. But, on Wednesday, the legion in Tecumseh held its monthly senior's dinner. I went!
This was only the second (2nd) time I attended the senior's dinner, there.
I want you to know I am not a drinker. While there, I usually drink water.
Yes, I have had lunch there, with a friend. And, in the past I attended an indoor sale function.
However, I knew from being there once before, that the chances were good I would see some of the people from the Monday evening events. And, I did.
Unfortunately, their table was full. So, I went to sit at another table, immediately behind theirs.
Within a couple of minutes, everyone got up from their table. They came to me and my table... and moved it up to join it into a group with both tables connected.
As they were doing this, I kept insisting they didn't need to do that. They insisted they needed to.
This truly touched my heart.
To my left, sat my line dancing teacher and her husband. I let her know I felt badly that I hadn't been able to attend the dancing lessons for more than a month. And, let her know I felt the same regarding the legion dinners on Mondays.
To my right, sat a line dancing fellow student, who is a member at the church where I attended the Ladies Mother's Day Tea Party, last Saturday. Her husband was there, also.
Others at the table were all couples. Husbands and wives. People I know either from the legions and/or their church.
When dinner began to be served, something happened that I was truly happy about. My line-dancing teacher reached out, and all of us held hands... as she said grace.
This truly made me feel happy!
It confirmed to me that everyone at our double tabled group, was Christian... including the one (1) couple I only knew well enough to say 'hello' to. And, it filled my heart with joy, not having to silently pray, alone.
I truly felt blessed.
I felt that everyone in our group had love for God. And, had pure hearts.
Thinking of this, brought to mind, Matthew 5:8, "Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God."
Just so you know, normally we do not sit together at the other legion. Normally, I sit with my Asian friends, who are not Christian. With who do not want to pray with me, normally. So, I normally pray, silently.
Being seated together, chatting and even sharing line dancing a few times, made me feel truly blessed. Thank You, Lord! And, my friends...
Oh, I'd like you to know that later... I found out that a fellow injured worker had also attended that senior dinner.
This surprised me, for I didn't see him, there. He must have been with the group of people that were disabled.
Even so, after I was told this by an e-mail, I prayed for him. Because, now he is living in a nursing home.
My friend, if you can find it in your heart, please pray for him, and for all who need healing. Including yourself, if healing is needed.
For this, I thank you. And, pray God will bless you.
Until next time...
