Knowing that yesterday was our Lord's Day, I'm sure you will understand here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), that I want to let you know I went to spend time with my church family.
Like normal, I went early enough to join in our group for the Bible study/Adult Sunday school class. Close to the end of it, I was shocked by something that happened.
While I was reading an information sheet, I looked up and saw someone I've never seen there, before. It was my friend J, who we call B. He's the fellow whose wedding I attended just a few weeks ago!
B had been told where I was to be found, so he came down and hugged me. His wife, my friend M, was upstairs in the sanctuary, with her mom. I was able to hug and welcome them, when I went into the sanctuary for our worship service.
Being Mother's Day, our pastor's sermon related to this.
At the end of our service, women were called to come forward to receive a red rose. Not just women who are mothers. Also, grandmothers, great-grandmothers, and women who may become mothers at some point in their lives. :)
While we were gathered together, our pastor and a couple of other brothers in the Lord prayed for each and every one of us women. For this, I am truly thankful! May God bless you...
To me, it was truly a blessing, being honoured there, yesterday. Especially, since I am not a young woman, who is a mother of young children.
Thinking about this, brought to mind Proverbs 23:22, "Hearken unto thy father that begat thee, and despise not thy mother when she is old."
As God told us, we need to hearken unto our father that begat thee. And, despise not thy mother when she is old.
I'm not young. So, being honoured by my church family, was truly a blessing. And, was done in compliance with what we are supposed to do.
What a blessing!
God has truly blessed me, by making me part of this church family. For this, I am truly grateful. And, always will be.
Thank You, Lord!
Until next time...
