Great!

As I've said before, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I adore worshipping God.

Being our Lord's Day, I will worship Him in spirit and in truth.  And, through music.

Great is the Lord, is a wonderful hymn by Michael W. Smith and Deborah D. Smith.  Here is a link for you to listen to and/or sing along, if you like:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocmCTU_rEeI.  The lyrics are below.

Great is the Lord

Great is the Lord
He is holy and just
By His power we trust
In his love
Great is the Lord
He is faithful and true
By his mercy he proves
He is love

Great is the Lord
And worthy of glory
Great is the Lord
And worthy of praise
Great if the Lord
Now lift up your voice
Now lift up your voice
Great is the Lord
Great is the Lord

Great is the Lord
He is holy and just
By His power we trust
In his love
Great is the Lord
He is faithful and true
By his mercy he proves
He is love

Great is the Lord
And worthy of glory
Great is the Lord
And worthy of praise
Great if the Lord
Now lift up your voice
Now lift up your voice
Great is the Lord
Great is the Lord

Great are you Lord
And worthy of glory
Great are you Lord
And worthy of praise
Great are you Lord
I lift up my voice
I lift up my voice
Great are you Lord
Great are you Lord

Great are you Lord
Great are you Lord
Great are you...
Lord

Yes, our God is so-o-o great!

Just as we read, in Psalm 95:3, "For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods."

Our Lord, is a great God.  And, a great King above all gods.

There is none like Him.

None.

We need to honour Him.  And, glorify Him.

After all, He loved us so much that He created a plan of redemption for us.  To save us from sin.  And, Hell.

My friend, if you haven't yet come to Christ, please... do so, today.

Tomorrow, may be too late.

Asking... Please!

In yesterday's Life with Lynnie (LwL) entry, I let you know about John Mercer.  Something else happened that you should know about.

Late on Tuesday evening, John Mercer messaged me on Facebook (FB).

He let me know he was in terrible pain.  You see, he doesn't have anything strong for pain relief.  He only has a common pain reliever that can be found on the shelves of any pharmacy/drug store.

John Mercer also let me know that he could hardly breathe.  He told me that he felt like his chest was being crushed.  And, his throat and face was swelling.

Oh my!  This reminded me of what happened with my now deceased husband Gordon, when he was taking a drug that we found he was allergic to.

While I didn't panic, I did feel stressed.  After all, I don't live anywhere near where John Mercer lives in South Carolina, USA!

I let John Mercer know that I believed he needed to go to the hospital.

He pressed the button he was wearing and let me know help would come.  After about 15 or 20 minutes, I suggested he call 9-1-1 for an ambulance to come, in case the button system wasn't working.

Eventually, an ambulance did arrive.

John Mercer was taken to a hospital quite a distance from where he lives.  Eventually, he messaged me.

I praise God that I found out he was okay.  He sent me a 'self-pic' of himself, hooked up with all sorts of systems.

I praise God that he was being treated and tested.  And, had been given something extremely strong for pain.

Eventually, he rested up.

Wednesday morning, I heard from John Mercer, again.

He had been released from hospital.  However, he wasn't able to go home.  He had to see his surgeon.

Later, John Mercer let me know that his surgeon told him that the cancer had spread.  Apparently, he has more tumours/tumors.  And, will have surgery, if the chemotherapy treatments help him.

For this, I prayed for him.  After all, God supplies everything for us, that we need.

Like we read, in Philippians 4:19, "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."

God isn't just my God.  He's also John Mercer's God.  For John Mercer is a brother in the Lord, who is trusting/believing upon our Lord, Jesus Christ.

He also let me know that he is a songwriter/singer... and is scheduled to honour/honor God in a tent revival.  Will he be able to do this for God?  Only God knows.

As you can see, John Mercer, truly needs healing.  And, encouragement/support.

My friend, again I am asking that you pray for him.  And, if you are on FB, please become a FB friend to him.

If you happen to live in South Carolina, anywhere close to where he lives, please try and meet up with him.

I truly believe it would be a blessing to John Mercer.  And, to you, my friend.

Thank you.  May God bless you!

John Mercer...

You may be surprised with what I have to say, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), today.  If you've read recent LwL entries, you'll be aware that Tuesday was a rather busy day for me.

However, there was something else that happened, that made it a rather stressful day, for me.

I need to let you know that a Facebook (FB) fellow took up much of my time, on Tuesday evening.  After I returned home from Bible Study.

John Mercer, told me it was okay to request prayer for him.

He's been a FB friend for quite a while.  Once in a while, but rather rarely have we chatted on FB.

The last while has been different.

In fact, the last week or so, we have chatted every day.  And, I've been praying for him.

You see, John Mercer let me know he has colon cancer.

He's had surgery to remove a tumour/tumor.  And, has begun having chemotherapy treatments.

I must admit, I feel badly for John Mercer.

Not just because he's not well.  Not just because he's suffering physically, with pain.

Also, because he is alone.  With no family to help him.  No one here on earth to provide for his needs.

However, I praise God that He has provided care for him!

After all, John Mercer, is unable to work.  Nor, can he drive.

He let me know his pastor came to visit him.  I was thankful for this.

Still, John Mercer is suffering.  Big time!

He's feeling sick.  Feeling overwhelmed.  Not just with suffering and not knowing if he will be healed or not.  He's got tremendous pain.

And, has felt even fearful, just as he explained to me.

It is for this reason I have spent a lot of time on FB, chatting with John Mercer.  We discussed God, and both agreed about how He told us to not be fearful.

Thinking of this, reminded me of Isaiah 41:10, "Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."

Yes, God is with us.  Always.

Just as we read in today's Bible verse, we should not fear... or, be dismayed.  God will strengthen us.  He will help us.  And, uphold us with the right hand of His righteousness.

When we walk/live in the spirit, it is much easier to think of this, and pass over the fear that our humanness provides.

But, when we suffer physically... and feel we are alone, without anyone there for us, while we suffer big time, it isn't easy.

As I said earlier, I've been praying for John Mercer... my American friend, who lives in South Carolina.  For, he truly needs prayer.

My friend, I am asking you to join me in prayer for John Mercer.  I believe he needs prayer, not just for healing, but also for him to receive encouragement.  After all, God's will is always done.

Thank you.  May God bless you!

What a Gift!

Yesterday, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I discussed how I met up with my church family, last SONday, and on Tuesday.

I must say that I was rather busy on Tuesday.  Not just because of meeting with my church family.

After getting things done Tuesday morning, I left home.  I did some things I had planned to do, when I went out.

Then, I made my way to the church building, where I was going to attend the last line dancing session.  It will begin again, in September.  But, Tuesday was the final day for the spring.

To be honest, I haven't attended in at least five or six (5 or 6) weeks.

Why?  Because I haven't felt well enough to go.

Doing the line dancing, is absolutely fun to me!  And, it is great exercise.  Especially, for someone like me who cannot work out in a gym.

However, with the swelling problem that I've been having, I haven't attended.

A friend of mine C, has been going.  I told her about the group and she admitted to me that she adores it.  I'm so happy for her!

It was nice to meet up with C, and with some of the ladies I know from other church groups.  And, of course, with our teacher, who usually attends legion dinners.

I have to admit, it wasn't easy for me.

Oh yes, I can say that it wasn't like I was new at it, and needed to learn the steps involved in everything.  But, after not doing this for quite a while, made it not easy.

In addition, I forgot to take my slippers/shoes used for dancing.

A couple of minutes before I arrived at the church building, I realized that I had only the sandals that were on my feet!  :(  This didn't make it easy.  In fact, a couple of women told me it could be dangerous.

God was good!  He helped me!

I was able to do almost every dance.  With the exception of a couple dances, where the steps were too difficult for me... even when I have the correct footwear on.

What a blessing this was to me!  I felt like God had given me a gift.

Just like we read, in James 1:17, "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning".

Every good thing that we receive is from God.  He provides all good things to us.

Much like how He blessed me with that gift of being able to do what I had hoped to do, with my line dancing class, of friends.

Just so you know, if it hadn't been the last session for spring, I probably wouldn't have attended.  To be honest, I didn't want to do anything to set off more swelling.

God provided for me in that way, also.  I wasn't any better, to be sure.  But, I also wasn't any worse, later.  Not even with more pain.

For this, I will always be grateful.  Thank You, Lord!

All...

As you are probably aware, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I discuss events with my church family, from time to time.  Today, is one of those days.

On SONday, I met up with some of my church family for our Adult Sunday school/Bible study class.

Afterwards, we all went upstairs to our sanctuary.  And, worshipped our God, just as we do, every week.

Our teaching and preaching was absolutely wonderful!

Yesterday, was another time when I spent time with my church family.  Well, at least some of them.

On Tuesday evenings, we have our Bible Study class.

I must admit, I truly enjoy studying God's Word.  And, enjoy time with my church family.

My pastor had asked me to bring something as a treat for all who attend on Tuesday evening.  I did.  So, together we enjoyed a sweet treat, as a snack.

Spending time together is heart-warming to me.

But, spending time with them, honouring God is even of more value to me.

Thinking about how we spent time together, brought to mind 1 Corinthians 10:31, "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God."

Yes, we ate a sweet treat, and drank coffee and/or water, but we spent our time honouring God.  And, thanked Him.

We did all to the glory of God!

Especially, when we studied and discussed His Word.

What a blessing it was.  And, is... always.

For this, I am truly thankful!

Giving...

As I mentioned yesterday, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I felt Memorial Day was a very special day.

A day, when we who live in every country, need to celebrate the fact that people gave of themselves for our freedom.  Some, in ways that affected their lives.  And, some who gave their lives.

This is so important to me.  Even though I am Canadian.

Here in Canada, we honour those in the same way on November 11th... Remembrance Day.

But, Americans, Canadians and those from other countries worked together as allies.

God led them.  And, guided them.

He made a way where there wasn't one, in many ways.

For this reason, we have freedom.  Freedom that was obtained by those who gave of themselves.

As I've said in the past, freedom... isn't free.

A price is paid, by all who give of themselves.

Something that truly touches my heart, is the fact that many have given of themselves, not because they've had to.  Many gave of themselves, because it was part of their heart's desires.

Much like what we read, in 2 Corinthians 9:7, "Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver."

Just as God told us in this verse, we need to give because it is a heart's desire, as a cheerful giver.

Many have done this.

Some were honoured/honored on a program I watched, National Memorial Day Concert, on PBS, on Sunday evening.

For this, I will always be grateful.  And, will always remember them.

Hopefully, you feel the same way.

May God bless you, if you do.

Memorial Day...

Here on Life with Lynnie (LwL)
there are days
when I address special issues.

Today, is one of those days.

As I've said in the past,
I am Canadian.

Even so,
because I lived in USA
for a few years as a child,
I truly feel like I am both
Canadian and American.

So, today
I wish you
Happy Memorial Day!

If you would like to know
more about
Memorial Day,
please click on this link:

As I've said on
November 11th,
when we Canadians
celebrate
Remembrance Day,
we need to be thankful
to all who stood for our freedom.
And,
we need to honour those who
gave their lives...
for us.

The Bible verse
that applies directly
to the honouring/honoring
of those who stood up for us,
in an effort to protect us,
and those who gave their lives
while fighting for freedom
for us...
is
John 15:13,
"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."

May God bless you,
as you
honour all
who gave of themselves,
and their lives,
in many ways.

Until next time...

None...

Like other Lord's Days, I'm letting you know, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL) that I'm going to spend time with my church family.

Just like other SONdays, I'll join with some of my church family by attending the Bible study/Adult Sunday school, before our worship service.

As you know, I enjoy worshipping through music.  That's in addition to worshipping in spirit, and in truth!

Thinking about how much I enjoy worshipping God, brought to mind music by Sondra Corbett entitled, I Worship You, Almighty God.  Here is a link for you to listen to and/or sing along:    The lyrics are below.

I Worship You, Almighty God

I worship You, Almighty God;
There is none like You.
I worship You, O Prince of Peace;
That is what I want to do.
I give you praise
For You are my righteousness,
I worship You, Almighty God;
There is none like You.

I worship You, Almighty God;
There is none like You.
I worship You, O Prince of Peace;
That is what I want to do.
I give you praise
For You are my righteousness,
I worship You, Almighty God;
There is none like You.

There is none like you.
There is none like you.
There is none...
There is none...
There is none like you.

I worship You, Almighty God;
There is none like You.
I worship You, O Prince of Peace;
That is what I want to do.
I give you praise
For You are my righteousness,
I worship You, Almighty God;
There is none like You.

There is none like you.
There is none...
There is none...
There is none like you.

There is none...
There is none...
There is none like you.

There is none...
There is none...
There is none like you.

There is none...
There is none...
There is none like you.

There is none...
There is none...
There is none like you.

There is none...
There is none...
There is none like you.

Just as these lyrics say... there is truly no one like Him.

Thinking of this, brought to mind Jeremiah 10:6, "Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O Lord; thou art great, and thy name is great in might."

Yes, He is great!  And, there is none like Him.

None.

I am grateful that God made a way of salvation for us.  For, if He hadn't, we would not have any way of spending eternity in Heaven, with Him.

For this I will always be thankful.  Thank You, Lord!

Love...

If you've been reading Life with Lynnie (LwL) for a while, you'll know that I watch many movies.  Lately, I've told you about some I've watched.

Today, I'll be letting you know some more!

The films I'll be telling you about, are some that I've actually seen more than once.  In fact, some are movies I absolutely adore!  And, watch as often as I can.

Here's some information for you:

Houseboat, starring Cary Grant, Sophia Loren, and many others.  Here is a link for you to check it out:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Houseboat_(film).  I must admit, I really like this romantic comedy film.

The Grapes of Wrath, starring Henry Fonda, and many, many others.  Check it out, here:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Grapes_of_Wrath_(film).  This is a drama film, that touches my heart.

Breakfast at Tiffany's, starring George Peppard, Audrey Hepburn, Mickey Rooney & more!  This link will give you information:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breakfast_at_Tiffany's_(film).  This romantic comedy film is one that I truly enjoy watching, over and over, again.

An Affair to Remember, starring Cary Grant, Debra Kerr, and Richard Denning.  Please, check out this movie, here:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breakfast_at_Tiffany's_(film).  This movie, is truly romantic.  I absolutely adore it.

The Hiding Place, starring Julie Harris, Jeanette Clift, Arthur O'Connell, and Robert Rietti.  For those of you who are not aware, this film is a true-life movie, based upon an autobiographical book with the same title, by Corrie ten Boom, about part of her and her family's lives.  Watching the movie, and reading the book, has touched my heart.  But, not as much as when my now deceased husband Gordon and I visited the ten Boom Museum, in Haarlem, Netherlands, and physically saw where and how people and various items were hidden from Nazi's, during WW2.

If you haven't yet noticed, I'll let you know that the thing I like most about these movies, is the fact that each film has a great amount of love, in it.

Love is so very important.

Especially, when God is involved.

Just as we read, in 1 John 4:8, "He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love."

Yes, love is important.

For the truth about love, is God.  And, anyone who doesn't love, doesn't know God.  For, He is love.

Anyone who knows me, knows that I feel I have never had much love, here in my human life.  At least, not by people.

But, God loves me.

For this, I am truly thankful.  For His love, is so great!

His love is so great, that even though there have been times when I felt that if I didn't have His love, I'd have no love, at all.  For this, I will always be thankful.

Thank You, Lord!

Truly...

In yesterday's Life with Lynnie (LwL) entry, I discussed what I did Wednesday morning.

To be honest, Wednesday was a rather busy day.

It was also happy, yet sad.  Frustrating, yet enjoyable.

After our real estate board meeting ended, I made my way home.

Both my daughters were to arrive to pick up some things that I decided I should give to them.  But, as it turned out, they weren't able to make it.

While this was sad to me, I ended up enjoying resting a while by having a 40-wink nap.  Well, since it was short, I should probably say it was a 20-wink nap!  lol  :)

By 4:30 p.m., I attended another meeting.

This one was for the Injured Workers Coalition group.  Just as always, we meet on the third (3rd) Wednesday of the month.

I won't give details.  But, I can honestly say that I found the meeting rather frustrating.

Upsetting to the point, that when I left there, I almost felt like I should not again attend.  Even though I've been a member there, for many, many years.

While driving home, I cried out to God.  And, prayed.

By the time I arrived home, I felt peace within me.

This brought to mind, Romans 5:1-5, "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us."

Yes, being justified by faith, we have peace with God, through our Lord, Jesus Christ.  Through this, we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Of course, like we read in today's Bible verses, we also glory in tribulations/troubles that worketh patience, experience and hope that doesn't make us ashamed.

Even though the day had been rather stressful, yet relaxing, I knew in my heart that the peace that I felt could only come from God!

His love is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost.  Or, as we call Him today, the Holy Spirit.  Who our Lord, Jesus Christ sent to us, after he gave himself for us, by suffering here on earth, and dying for the sin of the world... of all who will believe.

I must admit, I felt great!

And, even greater later.  You see, my now deceased husband Gordon's friend W, who is known as B dropped by to see me.

This was another surprise to me, because I didn't know B would come to visit.  After all, he lives in St. Thomas, and not here in Windsor.

Our visit was short, but lovely.  And, a blessing to me.

He brought me some books to read, and I responded by giving B some books, to take with him., as he left for home.

Thank You, Lord.

For providing for me, in so very many ways.  I'm truly blessed.

Behold...

If you've known me, or read Life with Lynnie (LwL) for a long time, you'll be aware that I've been a Realtor since 1988.

However, you'll also be aware that I have not been able to work at selling real estate, for quite a while.  Ever since I got sick in September 2012 and had the first of many surgeries/operations.  Including that extreme surgery I am still recovering from.

Now that I'm able to drive and do many things that are easy to do, I get out and about.  Quite often.

Yesterday, was one of those days.

Even though I had only slept about three and a half (3 1/2) hours, I got up early.  And, got ready to leave to attend a real estate board meeting.

Arriving there, I was welcomed by a couple of women who work at our real estate board office.

After signing in, I entered the hall.  It was almost full!

I made my way to a table, where I chose to be seated.

Of course, I didn't sit alone.  Other Realtors and I sat together.

We enjoyed a delicious breakfast!  And, addressed the issues that were part of the meeting's agenda.

There is something I should tell you, before I go any further.

A couple of months ago, like many other Realtors, I had received an e-mail from our Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA), asking for me to respond to their 2015 member survey.  I responded, just as many fellow Realtors in Canada, had.

To my surprise, I was selected as one (1) of three (3) people to be winners in a draw of those fellow board members, who had responded.

Thank You, Lord!  I never expected this to happen.  But, it did.

Of course, I had to respond to the e-mail notifying me of being a winner of a Mobile Power Bank(a portable battery charger system), which will be used to charge any/all of my digital devices.  Thank you, CREA!

My response had to include the answer to a skill-testing question.  Which I answered, correctly!

Then, I was told by one (1) of those two (2) ladies who welcomed me when I first signed in yesterday, that I had to attend yesterday's meeting in order to receive the prize I had won.

That's only partly why I went.  Even though I haven't been working, I like to keep myself updated on what's happening.

Thinking about how God provided for me, was awesome.  Thank You, Lord!

After all, I often feel like I have no true value as a person.  Other than what I do for God.

I'm grateful that He loves me.  And, provides for me... and reminds me about how much better I am to Him, than some others may be.

Thinking of this, brought to mind, Matthew 6:26, "Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?"

Yes, like many fowls of the air, who sow not, I have sometimes felt rather worthless.  After all, not being able to work at my normal employment, doesn't make me feel good about my life.

But, God loves me so much, that He reminds me daily, about how important I am to Him.

For this, I will always be thankful.  Thank You, Lord!

It's Given For...

Here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I did something last evening, that I have been doing once again.  It's something that didn't happen during the week, for a while at my church.

I attended our Bible Study class!

It began again, a few weeks ago.  Even though I attended when it first started up, again... I wasn't able to attend each week.  But, I did last evening!

In the past, our group was on Thursday evenings.

However, with so many people whose English is their second language, the numbers had been low.  Especially, since many groups were meeting in homes, and speaking in their original languages.

This made our Thursday evening group end for a while.

When our pastor decided we should once again have a Bible Study class during the week, he asked people to sign up and let him know which days would be best for them.  Tuesday, became the day selected.

Unfortunately, it hasn't been the best evening time for me.  Especially, since I've had many other things happen that I needed to attend on Tuesdays, since our Bible Study group began.

Even so, I must admit, I appreciate being able to get together with some of my church family, for studying God's Word, the Bible.  With both my pastor at times, and with our Bible Study/Adult Sunday School class teacher.

In addition, I enjoy meeting with some of my brothers and sisters in the Lord.  Both on SONday mornings to study God's Word, and now on Tuesday evenings, as well.

After all, it is important for everyone to read scripture and understand what God's Word, tells us.

Just as we read, in 2 Timothy 3:16, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:"

Yes, all scripture is given by inspiration of God.  And, it's profitable for doctrine... for reproof, for correction and for instruction in righteousness.

Wow!  How this touches my heart!

After all, we who belong to God, truly need to know what He has told us.  We need to not just understand what He says, but also what He expects of us!

Some people say they read the Bible.

Yet, they incorrectly make quotes.  Or, they pick and choose scriptures, as if they were selecting from a buffet, without understanding the bigger picture.

Are you like this?

Or, do you attend Bible Study classes?  Classes where you become educated in what God says, and what He wants of you?

Or, not.

My friend, if you truly are not committed to God, and don't understand His Word, the Bible, then you may be shocked with what happens during the day of judgement.  When many will stand before Christ.

Instead of hearing well done, you good and faithful servant, you may hear... get away from me, I never knew you.

Please know, I will continue praying for you, my friend.  Hopefully, we're on the same page.

Until next time...

Friends...

There are times, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), when I tell you about things I do.  Today, is one of those, days.

In the past, I let you know that I attended the Howard Ave. Legion, just south of Hwy. #3, here in Windsor.  What I haven't let you know, is that I hadn't gone there to that location, in a while.

I'm happy to say, that I went there.  Yesterday!

It was a happy, yet sad time.

As I've mentioned in the past, I've gotten to know some people who go there, weekly.  Plus I know a few people outside of the Legion senior's dinners.

Being a holiday weekend, I was surprised at how many people were there!

The dance floor was so crowded (it's sized for about 53 couples, or more!), I could hardly see those who were line dancing.  You see, they were at the other end of the dance floor, from where I was seated.

I thought there was going to be more people, though.

You see, last Thursday evening, I met with my publisher.  Together, we worked on the audio version of the book I authored:  Love Never Fails You...

Before I left his office, he let me know that the following day, was his birthday.

I wished him Happy Birthday!  And, let him know that I was sorry I hadn't known until that moment, or I would have done something to celebrate his birthday.

Knowing that the Legion was going to be open for dinner, I invited him to join me.  He agreed to.

But, unfortunately, he didn't show up.  Chances are, he forgot.

A female friend of mine had said she'd meet us, there.  But, at the last minute, she cancelled out.

So, I spent my time only with people, at the Legion.

Some were people that I actually enjoyed dinner with at another Legion, last Wednesday.  At the Tecumseh Legion.

When I attended there, it was only the second time I had been there for a senior's dinner.  And, found the same group of people I sit near and have gotten to know, at the Howard Ave. Legion!

Those people were so nice to me, that day.  They moved tables together, so that we had a larger group.

Knowing that there are many Christians attending both legions, makes me feel good.  For, not only are they friendly with me and others, they also love Jesus.

Thinking about this, reminded me of Proverbs 18:24, "A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother."

After all, this means we are also brothers and sisters in the Lord.  Christians who are friendly to each other, and who know that we all have a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.  Our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Are you a brother or sister in the Lord?

Have you received salvation, by trusting in/believing upon our Lord, Jesus Christ?

If not, your eternal future will be horrible.  You'll end up in Hell, separated from God... with no chance of escape.

But, if you've become saved, you'll spend eternity in Heaven.  With God.  And, with me.

Hopefully, I'll see you, there!

Until next time...

Happy Victoria Day!

We, in Canada
celebrate
Queen Victoria's
birthday!

Here is a link for you to read about
Queen Victoria:

Victoria Day, was set up
to honour
Queen Victoria
on
her birthday,
May 24th
of each year.

However, with our country
wanting
a Monday holiday,
it was decided to honour
Queen Victoria
on the Monday,
before the 25th of May,
each year.

You can read about it, here:

Thinking about honouring people,
brought to mind
1 Peter 2:17,
"Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king."

While Queen Victoria, and other Queens, are not male,
they still deserve to be honoured.
Just as we do, here in Canada.

For this, I praise God,
and thank our Canadian government.

It's for this reason,
I wish you..

 Blessings...

Until next time...

Take Time...

Once again, I'm letting you know here on Life with Lynnie (LwL) that I'll be going to worship with my church family.

Of course, I'll go early enough to join in with my Bible study/Adult Sunday school group, that meets about an hour before our worship service.

Together, we'll worship... in spirit, and in truth.  And, with music.

Thinking about music...  I came across a hymn that was by William Longstaff and George Stebbins that is entitled, Take Time to Be Holy.  Here is a link for you to listen to and/or sing along:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qIxD9By43mc.  The lyrics are below.

Take Time to Be Holy

Take time to be holy, speak oft with thy Lord;
Abide in Him always and feed on His Word.
Make friends of God's children
Help those who are weak;
Forgetting in nothing His blessing to seek.

Take time to be holy, the world rushes on;
Spend much time in secret with Jesus alone.
By looking to Jesus,
Like Him thou shalt be;
Thy friends in thy conduct His likeness shall see.

Take time to be holy, let Him be thy Guide,
And run not before Him, whatever betide.
In joy or in sorrow
Still follow thy Lord,
And, looking to Jesus, still trust in His Word.

(this verse is not recorded:)
Take time to be holy, be calm in thy soul--
Each thought and each motive beneath His control.
Thus led by His Spirit
To fountains of love,
Thou soon shall be fitted for service above.

Take time to be holy
With Jesus, alone.

Take time to be holy...

Yes, we must take time to be holy.

We must look to Jesus.  Always.

And, we must follow Him.  For, He is our Guide.

Thinking about the lyrics of this hymn made me think of 2 Timothy 1:9, "Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,".

Yes, we who belong to Him, have been saved.  And, He called us with a holy calling.  Not to our works, but for His own purpose and grace.

My friend, hopefully, you are part of His family.

If not, when your human life ends here on earth, you will suffer in Hell, for eternity.  You 'll be separated from God... with no chance of escape.

But, if you are part of His family, I'll see you in Heaven.  And, we will spend eternity with God.

Forever is a very long time.

All you need to do... is trust in/believe upon our Lord, Jesus Christ... and you will be saved (Acts 16:31).

May you be blessed with salvation.

Until net time...

The Choice is Yours...

Once again, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I'll let you know about some movies I've watched.

Please, don't think that I just sit in front of my television (TV), and focus only on what's being aired.  This is not what I do.

In fact, as I've said in the past, I do other things, while watching television.  I work on blog entries, do some research and other things on the computer.  And, sometimes I read.

In any case, here are a few films I watched:

It Happened One Night, starring Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert.  Here is a link for you to read about this romantic comedy that I somewhat enjoyed:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/It_Happened_One_Night.

Family Business, starring Sean Connery, Dustin Hoffman, Matthew Broderick and Rosanna Desoto.  Even though this movie was rather sad to me, it was one that I wanted to make sure I watched to the end.  Check it out, here:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Family_Business_(film).

My Darling Clementine, starring Henry Fonda, Linda Darnell, Victor Mature, Walter Brennan, Tim Holt and Kathy Downs.  This western film was okay to watch, even though I didn't really adore it.  Click on this link to check it out:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Darling_Clementine.

The New Centurians, starring George C. Scott, Stacey Keach, Jayne Alexander and Rosalind Cash.  This crime drama movie wasn't something I enjoyed much.  Even so, check it out, here:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_New_Centurions.

Beat The Devil, starring Humphrey Bogart, Peter Lorre and many, many other people.  To me, this movie was almost a waste of time.  Of course, it's only my opinion... so, check it out, here:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beat_the_Devil_(film).

Thinking about the devil, it seems he is truly alive and well.  And, plays his part in every one of these films.

Of course, he's not just in these movies.

He's also in this world, seeking anyone/everyone that he can attack, or devour.

Just as we read in 1 Peter 5:8, "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:"

Yes, our adversary... the devil, walks about, seeking whom he may devour.

We need to be sober.  We need to be vigilent.

In other words, we need to be careful.  And, alert.  We need to recognize the difference between what Satan, the devil attracts us to, and what God would have us do.

So, we will either be blessed.  Or, pay the price.

Of course, the choice is ours.

Blessings & Prayer Request...

It's been quite a while, since I mentioned here on Life with Lynnie (LwL) about something I did.  I'm referring to attending a senior's dinner, at the legion.

No, I wasn't able to attend the legion on Howard Ave., in Windsor, on Monday.  But, on Wednesday, the legion in Tecumseh held its monthly senior's dinner.  I went!

This was only the second (2nd) time I attended the senior's dinner, there.

I want you to know I am not a drinker.  While there, I usually drink water.

Yes, I have had lunch there, with a friend.  And, in the past I attended an indoor sale function.

However, I knew from being there once before, that the chances were good I would see some of the people from the Monday evening events.  And, I did.

Unfortunately, their table was full.  So, I went to sit at another table, immediately behind theirs.

Within a couple of minutes, everyone got up from their table.  They came to me and my table... and moved it up to join it into a group with both tables connected.

As they were doing this, I kept insisting they didn't need to do that.  They insisted they needed to.

This truly touched my heart.

To my left, sat my line dancing teacher and her husband.  I let her know I felt badly that I hadn't been able to attend the dancing lessons for more than a month.  And, let her know I felt the same regarding the legion dinners on Mondays.

To my right, sat a line dancing fellow student, who is a member at the church where I attended the Ladies Mother's Day Tea Party, last Saturday.  Her husband was there, also.

Others at the table were all couples.  Husbands and wives.  People I know either from the legions and/or their church.

When dinner began to be served, something happened that I was truly happy about.  My line-dancing teacher reached out, and all of us held hands... as she said grace.

This truly made me feel happy!

It confirmed to me that everyone at our double tabled group, was Christian... including the one (1) couple I only knew well enough to say 'hello' to.  And, it filled my heart with joy, not having to silently pray, alone.

I truly felt blessed.

I felt that everyone in our group had love for God.  And, had pure hearts.

Thinking of this, brought to mind, Matthew 5:8, "Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God."

Just so you know, normally we do not sit together at the other legion.  Normally, I sit with my Asian friends, who are not Christian.  With who do not want to pray with me, normally.  So, I normally pray, silently.

Being seated together, chatting and even sharing line dancing a few times, made me feel truly blessed.  Thank You, Lord!  And, my friends...

Oh, I'd like you to know that later... I found out that a fellow injured worker had also attended that senior dinner.

This surprised me, for I didn't see him, there.  He must have been with the group of people that were disabled.

Even so, after I was told this by an e-mail, I prayed for him.  Because, now he is living in a nursing home.

My friend, if you can find it in your heart, please pray for him, and for all who need healing.  Including yourself, if healing is needed.

For this, I thank you.  And, pray God will bless you.

Tea Party!

I'm once again discussing things here on Life with Lynnie (LwL) that happened, last weekend.

Today's LwL entry, is not about Mother's Day, last Sunday.  It's about what I did last Saturday.

A friend of mine, who worships at a sister-church that is actually in the area where I live, had a while back invited me to attend a women's group meeting.  This meeting was to honour women for Mother's Day.

At first, I let my friend know that I wasn't sure if I could attend.  But, close to the day, I let her know I would.  And, I did!

I must admit, I truly am happy I did.

Once I confirmed I would attend the meeting, I asked if I should bring something to share with others, as a snack.  My friend let me know I should not.  So, I didn't.

As she suggested, I arrived early.  And, found the best seat for me.

Women began to arrive and joined me in the area.

One lady, who sat next to me the last time I joined them for another women's meeting, was happy to see me, and sat next to me, again.  There were many other women who attended, that I know personally.

It was truly a wonderful time.

Believe it or not, this meeting was truly a Tea Party!

We enjoyed various types of tea.  And, coffee, too.

Plus, we enjoyed fruit salad, and various baked goods.  Mmmm... everything was delicious!

A friend of mine, was sitting at another table.  Her granddaughter sat beside her... and at the beginning of the meeting, she sang.

What a beautiful voice she has!

Then, a church sister/member sang.  She also had a beautiful voice!

My friend's mom actually was the speaker for the meeting.  What she discussed was wonderful and glorified our God!

Thinking about eating, drinking and honouring God, brought to mind 1 Corinthians 10:31, "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God."

I must admit, everything we did was wonderful.  And, done to the glory of God.

He was honoured.  Honoured, throughout the whole time we had, together.

For this, I was thankful.  And, always will be.

Especially, since I felt blessed being invited to join these loving sisters in the Lord!

Even though we do not worship at the same location, we are still church family.  For this, I am grateful.

Thank You, Lord!

Until next time...

Mother's Day Surprises...

Over the last couple of days, I've discussed Mother's Day, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL).  Today, there's more information to tell you about!

After our pot-luck luncheon, as I mentioned previously, my pastor Tom and his wife L, blessed me with a gift of some delicious food to take home with me.  I know they did this, because they wanted to bless me, with love.  Thank You!  May God bless you...

Before heading home, I had a couple of errands to do.  Then, I made my way to the cemetery.  I visited Gordon's grave, and put flowers on it, again.

When I arrived home, I found that both my daughters had left messages on my answering machine.  They both wished me Happy Mother's Day.

I should let you know that it was close to 3:00 p.m. when I arrived home and received those messages.  It was then, when I realized I needed to take my cell phone off 'silent'.  After all, I was no longer at my worship service.  :)

When I placed my cell phone back on 'sound', I realized that B had also texted me.  Her messages on both my answering machine and in the text message, were the same.

B reminded me that the following day, May 11th, was my granddaughter A's birthday.  For your information, she was becoming five (5) years old.

B's messages carried on to let me know that I could be there at her home, for about 2:00 p.m.  She let me know about having a BBQ and birthday cake, then.

I texted B back, letting her know that I wasn't sure what time I could be there on Monday, because I needed to be home to receive a delivery from UPS.

B never responded to me.

Later, my daughter P called me at home.  She asked if I was going to be home in the evening, because she wanted to come see me.

This shocked me!  If you know me well, you'd know why!  I let her know I was happy she was going to come visit.

Around that time, a real-life friend who is also a Facebook (FB) friend, let me know that B posted about having had a birthday party for my granddaughter A, earlier on Sunday afternoon, before it poured with rain.

While I was happy for A, I truly found this upsetting.

After all, B had never texted me back.  Nor, had she called to explain that she wasn't referring to Monday, but rather Sunday, even though she hadn't mentioned it.

Later, when discussed, B felt I was the person who misunderstood her text about the following day.  I know she truly screwed up, but didn't want to make the situation any worse.

P arrived on Mother's Day evening.  With her was her boyfriend K, and two (2) of my grandsons.  D, P's eldest son, plus J, B's son.

This was an absolute surprise to me.  But, silently I thanked God!

After sitting, enjoying beverages and talking for a while, P let me know that she thought it was a good time for them to do something for me.  Something that I had wanted done for several months, but hadn't been able to do it, myself.

They were there to move my two (2) deck boxes, plus all my metal sign frames, back out onto my balcony!

In case you're not aware, those items had taken up much of my living room space, for close to three (3) years.  It took close to two and a half (2 1/2) years for the balcony repairs to be completed.  And, of course, since it was completed in November 2014, I had all those things inside my apartment for all these months, because I had no way of being able to remove them.

My family moved around my furniture, so that the deck boxes could be taken outside onto the balcony.  Repair was needed to the last one being moved.

P and K swept, and P wiped the ceramic tile underneath were my couch normally is placed.  This way, I wouldn't have to worry about trying to move it, to clean the floor.

My goodness, I could hardly believe this happened!  Believe me when I say, I was not only shocked, but was very thankful!

Having been helped like this, truly made me feel loved.

Thinking about being loved, brought to mind, Hebrews 13:1, "Let brotherly love continue."

Yes, I know.  My family members aren't brothers.  But, brotherly love refers to everyone.

Knowing that I had suffered with that situation for such a long time, and knowing that I had not had visits by most of my family for several years, on Mother's Day, truly made me feel happy.  Especially, since it was such a surprise.

May God bless my family members, who showed me love on that special day!

I must admit, I truly felt blessed.  And, thankful.

Thankful to my family.  And, of course, thankful to God... for placing it on their hearts and minds to help me.

The next day, on A's birthday, I made sure I called A, and wished her Happy Birthday!  And, sang Happy Birthday to her, over the phone.

A thanked me for her birthday gifts, that my daughter P made sure she received from me, when my grandson J, her brother, returned home.

While the Mother's Day surprises were a mixture of happy and not so happy, I must admit, I was truly thankful.

Thank You, Lord!

Honour and Love...

If you read Life with Lynnie (LwL) yesterday, you'll be aware that before our worship service began where I worship at Walkerville Evangelical Baptist Church, I met up with friends.  The couple that I attended their wedding, just a few weeks ago.  And, the bride's mom, too.

During our conversation, I asked if they were going to stay for the pot-luck luncheon we had planned for after our worship service.  All three (3) of them, were shocked.  They weren't aware this was happening.

I explained that it didn't matter if they were not aware, before gathering with us.  As guests, they were welcome to join us.

Unfortunately, they said they would only be staying to worship.  And, they did.  But, they didn't join us for our luncheon.

While this was disappointing to me, I was happy to have fellowship time with some of my church family members, on that special day of honouring mothers... Mother's Day.  Of course, the meal was absolutely delicious!

During the time when I was enjoying bites of food, my pastor's wife L, came over to see me.  L handed me a little net-like container.

I asked what it was.  L let me know that during the children's Sunday school class, they made necklaces and placed them in the black-coloured see-through wrapper.

She smiled.  So, did I.

I believe I understood why she gave this to me.  And, thanked her for it.

Then, at the time I was leaving, L approached me with a large white bag.

Inside it, was a large loaf of pumpernickel bread.  And, a container of spinach dip.

I asked why she and her husband, my pastor Tom, had done this for me.  Plus, I offered to pay them for the items.

L insisted that it was not something they wanted to be paid for.  And, she let me know where they had purchased the delicious items.

When I thanked her, I hugged her.  And, let L know that it truly wasn't necessary for them to have done this for me.

L reminded me that during one of our group gatherings, where we had enjoyed snacks, she had recalled I said that I hadn't had that spinach dip in a long time, and enjoyed it.

In my heart, I knew why they did this for me.  They wanted to show me love.

Just as God told us we should do, in Romans 13:7-8, "Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.
Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law."

Being a widow who rarely ever gets to spend time with family, I believe they wanted to let me know that I was loved.  By them.

This made me feel happy.  Yet, sad.

As I've said in the past, I haven't really had much love.

After thanking L, who insisted I take those yummy items home with me, I made my way to my van.  And, almost cried.

After doing a couple of errands, I made my way to the cemetery.  Then, I made my way home.

Instead of cooking a meal for dinner later, I just enjoyed some of the bread and dip.  I must admit, it was delicious.

It not only filled my stomach, it touched my heart.

Thank you, L and pastor Tom.  May God bless you for honouring me, and showing me love.

All Ages...

Knowing that yesterday was our Lord's Day, I'm sure you will understand here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), that I want to let you know I went to spend time with my church family.

Like normal, I went early enough to join in our group for the Bible study/Adult Sunday school class.  Close to the end of it, I was shocked by something that happened.

While I was reading an information sheet, I looked up and saw someone I've never seen there, before.  It was my friend J, who we call B.  He's the fellow whose wedding I attended just a few weeks ago!

B had been told where I was to be found, so he came down and hugged me.  His wife, my friend M, was upstairs in the sanctuary, with her mom.  I was able to hug and welcome them, when I went into the sanctuary for our worship service.

Being Mother's Day, our pastor's sermon related to this.

At the end of our service, women were called to come forward to receive a red rose.  Not just women who are mothers.  Also, grandmothers, great-grandmothers, and women who may become mothers at some point in their lives.  :)

While we were gathered together, our pastor and a couple of other brothers in the Lord prayed for each and every one of us women.  For this, I am truly thankful!  May God bless you...

To me, it was truly a blessing, being honoured there, yesterday.  Especially, since I am not a young woman, who is a mother of young children.

Thinking about this, brought to mind Proverbs 23:22, "Hearken unto thy father that begat thee, and despise not thy mother when she is old."

As God told us, we need to hearken unto our father that begat thee.  And, despise not thy mother when she is old.

I'm not young.  So, being honoured by my church family, was truly a blessing.  And, was done in compliance with what we are supposed to do.

What a blessing!

God has truly blessed me, by making me part of this church family.  For this, I am truly grateful.  And, always will be.

Thank You, Lord!

Happy Mother's Day!

Here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), whenever it is a day that is special, and celebrated for any reason, I address it.  Today, is one of those days.

Happy Mother's Day!

Since today is also our Lord's Day... SONday, I thought the pic I just used was so very suitable.  After all, it reflects our Lord.  :)

To be honest, I really miss my mom.

If I was able to be with her, I would do so.  Just as I did in the past.

After all, I did feel I needed to honour my mom.  And, in many ways, she was blessed.

Just as we read, in Proverbs 31:28, "Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her."

Even though my life wasn't always perfect, I chose to honour my mom.  And, my dad praised her in many ways - especially, as they grew older.

She has not been with me now, for many years.  I truly miss spending time with her, bringing her gift(s), and enjoying special meals with her.

Missing my mom, isn't easy.

Especially, since life here on earth, is not at all similar to the way it was, years ago.  At least, that's the way it is with my life.

Still, God is with me, always.

For this, I will always be thankful.  For all eternity!  Thank You, Lord!

And, to you, who are moms... I wish you Happy Mother's Day

Until next time...

No Fear...

It's been a while since I discussed here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), about movies I've watched.

Since it has been a rather lengthy period of time, the list of films I've watched, is rather long.  I'll try to keep the list here on LwL today, as short as I normally do.

Here's some of what I've watched:

The Devil at 4 O'Clock, starring Spencer Tracy and Frank Sinatra.  Here is a link for you to check it out:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Devil_at_4_O'Clock.  Being a disaster film, it's certainly easy thinking the devil was involved.

*  A Wedding, starring Desi Arnaz Jr., Carol Burnett, Mia Farrow and many other actors!  Click on this link, and you'll find out more about this movie:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Wedding.  This was a comedy film, even though there seemed to be a family link with organized crime.

The Notorious Landlady, starring Kim Novak, Jack Lemmon & Fred Astaire.  To check it out, please click on this link:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Notorious_Landlady.  Being a comedy, and a mystery film, made this movie rather unique.

Good Neighbor Sam, starring Jack Lemmon, Romy Schneider, Dorothy Provine and Michael Connors.  Here is a link you can click on, to check it out:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Good_Neighbor_Sam.  This film is one that I've seen in the past.  It is a comedy film, so it's not hard to watch it, more than once.

Captain January, starring Shirley Temple, Guy Kibbee and Sara Haden.  Check it out here:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Captain_January_(1936_film).  I'm sure you realize that even though this is a comedy film, it is also a musical!

Although the first film listed was a disaster film, the rest were basically comedy films.  Even so, love seemed to be included in each movie.

Thinking about how there no fear in love, made me think of 1 John 4:18, "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love."

Yes, God's perfect love casts out fear, because fear torments.  If someone fears, they are not made perfect in love.

Why?

Because God loves us.  And, always has.

He has loved us, so very much that He sent His only begotten Son, our Lord, Jesus Christ, to suffer on this earth, die a human death, and be resurrected, to prove to all that eternal life is available for all who trust in/believe upon our Lord, Jesus Christ.

For this, I will always be thankful!

After all, I'll be spending eternity with Him, when my human/physical life ends, here on earth.

Thank You, Lord!

Until next time...

National Day of Mourning - Part 2 - Ending...

I feel badly that I hadn't yet finished posting, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), regarding The National Day of Mourning.

You may want to refresh your mind, about what The Nation Day of Mourning was about.  If so, please click on this link:  http://www.lifewithlynnie.com/2015/05/national-day-of-mourning-part-1.html.

As I mentioned on part 1, I attended the meeting.  But, didn't participate in the walk to the monument where the ceremony took place.

You may be wondering why.

The truth is, you may or may not have known this about me, but I have been partially disabled, for many years.  Ever since that tractor-trailer driver hit the school bus, I was driving.

In any case, I had been told to go directly to the legion on Wyandotte St. E., in the part of Windsor, known as... Riverside.  So, I made my way there.

Believe it or not, I took a seat at a table, and actually read my Bible, while I waited for the other people to arrive, who were planning to meet at the legion.

What happened there, was shocking to me.  I had been told that there was going to be beverages available for us, sponsored by the City of Windsor.

However, this wasn't the case.  Instead, anyone wanting a beverage had to purchase it.

But, dinner was provided for us... free!

I had no idea this was to happen.  Nor, did many others who attended.

Together, we chatted with each other, while we enjoyed a fabulous meal, of penne (pasta) with a delicious meat sauce, salad, sandwiches and of course, sweet and tasty desserts.

I had never before experienced this.  Nor, had some other people.  I must admit, I never heard of anyone who didn't enjoy the meal.

Thank you, to whoever it was, who truly provided it for us.  May God bless you!

Yes, we enjoyed time and that delicious meal, together.  But there was still heartbreak felt by many, over the reason for the meeting that day.

After all, The National Day of Mourning, is meant to remember workers who were injured on the job, and died... and, is meant to support workers who were injured on the job, and lived.

Many with pain and suffering.  Like me.  And, others.

I must admit, I truly hate focusing upon the pain and suffering I have experienced, since becoming not just what is called... an injured worker, but in truth... a partially-disabled person.

I hate thinking about how many other people have suffered this way.

Thinking about the suffering that many people have experienced by being injured on the job, reminded me of Revelation 21:4, "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away."

Life on earth, is not easy.  Especially, if you live the life of someone disabled, or partially-disabled.

But, God is good.

He has provided for us.  Us, meaning those who belong to Him.

He shall wipe away all tears, and there shall be no more death, sorrow, crying, pain or anything else that complicates life, here on earth.  For, the former things are passed away... once our life here on earth ends, and we spend eternity in Heaven with God.

Now, please don't think this will be for everyone.  For, it won't be.

As I said, this is for those who belong to God.

If someone doesn't belong to Him, they will not experience this.  Instead, they will suffer for eternity, in Hell, separated from God... with no chance of changing this.  No chance of escape.

So, what must you do to belong to God?

All you need to do, is to trust in/believe upon our Lord, Jesus Christ.  And, you shall be saved.

Saved from sin.  Saved from being in Hell... f o r e v e r.

If you haven't yet come to Christ, please think about this.  And, do it, today.  Tomorrow, may be too late.

Until next time...

Just Wild!

Once again, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I'm letting you know about music.

Music that has resonated within me, for a while now.  Not every day.  But, it was with me for a while.  And, now has returned.

Vaughn De Leath is the singer of I'm Just Wild About Harry, the song that I'm referring to.  Here's a link so you can listen and/or sing along:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IyNAa-zx8gw.  The lyrics are below.

I'm Just Wild About Harry

There's just one fellow for me in this world;
Harry's the name,
That's what I claim!
Why for every fellow there must be a girl;
I found my mate
By kindness of fate.

For I'm just wild about Harry,
And Harry's wild about me.
The heavenly blisses of his kisses
Fill me with ecstasy.
He's nice as chocolate candy,
And, sweet as honey from the bee.
Oh, I'm just wild about Harry,
And, he's just crazy 'bout,
Cannot live without
He's just crazy 'bout me.

There are some fellows that like all the girls--
I mean the vamps
With wicked lamps.
But, for every fellow, there must be a girl--
I found my mate
By kindness of fate.

For I'm just wild about Harry,
And Harry's crazy about me.
The heavenly blisses of his kisses
Fill me with ecstasy.
He's nice as chocolate candy,
And, sweet as honey from the bee.
Oh, I'm just wild about Harry,
And, he's just wild about,
Cannot live without
He's just wild about me.

He's nice as chocolate candy,
And, sweet as honey from the bee.
Oh, I'm just wild about Harry,
And, he's just crazy 'bout,
Cannot do without
He's just wild about me.

When I awoke one day with this song, I wondered why on earth I would be thinking about this song.

It didn't take long for me to come to the conclusion that God was telling me that He knows I love Him.  And, He loves me.

When did this start happening?  Just a few days before I began having that swelling inside me.

After praying, I realized that once again, God was reminding me that He loves me, just as I said earlier.

He loves me, so very much.  He provides in so many ways.

Just like we read, in Romans 5:1-5, "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us."

Yes, He gives me peace.  Even though it seems my life has been filled with various forms of suffering.

Being justified by faith, brings that peace that can only come from God.  I rejoice in Him, and He works the patience I need to have, and gives me hope.  And, makes me proud of Him, and the fact that He loves me.  Even though I am not perfect.

Still, He must have thought I would wonder about this, since I am again, suffering with something that may require surgery.  Possibly related to the seroma (pocket of fluid that can cause my death, or create swelling problems, again).  Only God knows.

I'm trusting in Him, thanking our Lord, Jesus Christ, and relying on the Holy Spirit, for everything in my life.

Are you?

Have you gained salvation, by trusting in/believing upon our Lord, Jesus Christ?

If not yet, please think about this.

After all, we are NOT guaranteed... even our next breath.  So, a few minutes from now, it may be too late, for you.  For once our life ends here on earth, there is nothing that can be done to change where we will be for eternity.

Believe in Jesus = Eternity in Heaven.

Not believing in Jesus = Eternity in Hell... forever... with no chance of escape.

Please know, I pray for you.  May God bless you, and provide for everything in your life... and eternity.

Until next time...

Beloved...

If you read Life with Lynnie (LwL) a couple of days ago, you'll know that I spoke with a retired pastor, who is part of my church family, after our worship service ended.

Then, I made my way to visit with my eldest grandson, T... and his family.

T had phoned me and let me know that he and his family had moved from my daughter B's home.  He seemed happy that they had found a good place to rent.

When T originally gave me the address, it resonated in my mind.  I wondered if it was the home that was on my mind.

As I drove up to the house, I realized that it was definitely the home I had been thinking of.

You see, many years ago, I had a friend who was a fellow Realtor, here in Windsor.  However, she left Canada, after marrying an American.

Being friends, she asked me to list an investment property she owned.  She had decided to sell it.  So, I listed it.

After a short time of the house being on the market, she let me know she didn't want to have it listed any longer.  Instead, she wanted to sell it to her brother.  So, she did.

It amazed me how similar it looked inside, even though it had been many, many years since I had been inside that house.

Even so, I was happy for T and his family.  And, enjoyed my visit with them.  Especially, seeing my great-granddaughter S, who was born in January.

I'm sure you can tell that I love T and his family.

Thinking of loving, reminded me of 1 John 4:7, "Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God."

I love those, who God has brought to my heart.

My grandson T, and his family.  My daughters and their families, including my other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  One (1) I have not seen in a long time, and another that I have never seen.

I also love other relatives, who I rarely get to see.  And, friends, too.

After all, love is so very important.  And, is proof that I belong to God.

Do you belong to God?

Are you one of His children?

The only way you can say 'yes', is to know that you are trusting in/believing upon our Lord, Jesus Christ.  For, there is nothing that you, yourself... can do to gain salvation.

So, my friend... I pray that if you have not yet come to Christ, that you will do so, today.  For, tomorrow... may not exist, for you.

Until next time...

70 Years...

From time to time, here on Life with Lynnie  (LwL), I discuss things from the past.  Today, this is what will happen.

May 1945 was a very important time.  It was when V-E Day happened.  Meaning... Victory in Europe of WW2.

Here is a Wikipedia link, where you can read about the End of World War 11 in Europehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/End_of_World_War_II_in_Europe.  Although May 8th is the actual date, ceremonies and various visits are happening, this week.

On May 4th, on the CBC Newscast, I saw an article about Mr. Ed Carter-Edwards.  It was a cbc.ca article entitled, Ed Carter-Edwards Recalls Buchenwald: 'So Cruel, So Savage, So Brutal'. Here is where you can check it out:  http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/ed-carter-edwards-recalls-buchenwald-so-cruel-so-savage-so-brutal-1.3056580.

Here is a Wikipedia link, where you can read about Buchenwald Concentration Camphttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buchenwald_concentration_camp.

Canadians are being honoured there, and in other parts of Europe, including the Netherlands, where our Prime Minister, Stephen Harper attended a memorial service.

Here is a cbc.ca article entitled, Stephen Harper joins Canadian WW2 Veterans to mark liberation of Netherlandshttp://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/stephen-harper-joins-canadian-ww2-veterans-to-mark-liberation-of-netherlands-1.3059805.

Thinking about the Netherlands, reminded me about how my now deceased husband Gordon, and I visited Haarlem... where the ten Boom museum is located.  Here is a link for you to check it out: http://tenboom.org/.

Being there and seeing the museum which was the place were Corrie ten Boom and her family lived, during WW2, touched my heart.

You've probably heard me say in the past, that Canadians were truly honoured there, because Canada dropped cans as they flew over the area.  In the museum is one of those cans.

The cans were filled with food, medical supplies and other items that were needed by people in the Netherlands.  The Nazis had taken so much food and supplies from people that a large amount of population there, were dying.

And, of course, Canadians helped liberate the Netherlands!

While viewing the museum, it truly touched my heart about how Corrie ten Boom and her family helped hide Jews, and other people wanted by the Nazi army.  Here is a Wikipedia link for you to  check out The Hiding Placehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hiding_Place_(biography)

If you'd like to watch the movie, The Hiding Place, click on this YouTube link:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XX0GwjXExFE

Thinking about how so many people, including my dad, helped liberate Europe, during WW2, touched my heart.

While not all people were truly born-again Christians, who participated in helping end WW2, many were.  And, did this to help people, and to do what they believed God would have them do.

Just like we read, in Galatians 6:2, "Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ."

Those who fought to end what Adolf Hitler began, truly helped people.  And, by doing this, they fulfilled the law of Christ.

Not just the people of that era were helped.  But, even us... today, as a result of the freedom obtained.

For, if freedom of WW2 had not happened, our world today would be even worse than it already is.

For this I am grateful to God.  He helped the allies, to do what He wanted them to do.

And, many people were blessed by this.

Thank You, Lord!
