Rock Me...

Every now and then, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I let you know that God seems to be addressing an issue in my life.  Usually, by me waking up with music/lyrics resonating inside me.

That has been happening to me.  Actually, for quite a while, now.

Not every day, though.  However, it seems to be happening a couple of times per week.

The words and music is by Bob Dylan and Ketch Secor.  The song is sung by Darius Rucker and is entitled, Wagon Wheel.  Here is a link for you to listen to and/or sing along:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1L1cDUZArE.  The lyrics are below.

Wagon Wheel

Heading down south to the land of the pines
I'm thumbing my way into North Carolina
Staring up the road and pray to God I see headlights
I made it down the coast in seventeen hours
Picking me a bouquet of dogwood flowers
And I'm a-hopin' for Raleigh, I can see my baby tonight

So rock me momma like a wagon wheel
Rock me momma any way you feel
Hey momma rock me
Rock me momma like the wind and the rain
Rock me momma like a south bound train
Hey momma rock me

Running from the cold up in New England
I was born to be a fiddler in an old time string band
My baby plays a guitar, I pick a banjo now
Oh, north country winters keep a-getting me down
Lost my money playing poker so I had to leave town
But I ain't turning back to living that old life no more

So rock me momma like a wagon wheel
Rock me momma any way you feel
Hey momma rock me
Rock me momma like the wind and the rain
Rock me momma like a south bound train
Hey momma rock me

Walkin' to the south out of Roanoke
I caught a trucker out of Philly had a nice long toke
But he's a-heading west from the Cumberland gap
To Johnson City, Tennessee
I gotta get a move on before the sun
I hear my baby calling my name and I know that she's the only one
And if I die in Raleigh at least I will die free

So rock me momma like a wagon wheel
Rock me momma any way you feel
Hey momma rock me
Oh, rock me momma like the wind and the rain
Rock me momma like a south bound train
Hey, hey momma rock me

Oh, so rock me momma like a wagon wheel
Rock me momma any way you feel (I wanna feel)
Hey, hey momma rock me (momma rock me, momma rock me)
Rock me momma like the wind and the rain
Rock me momma like a south bound train
(I wanna rock like a south bound train)
Hey momma rock me
Rock me

Why this song keeps resonating inside me, is questionable.  To you, I'm sure.  Definitely, to me!

It is one of the songs that I have done line dancing lessons/exercise to.  Here's a link for a YouTube video, so you can see how to do the line dancing with Gail Eaton, to this song:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0S6mOo0E0d8.

Truthfully, I don't believe that the reason I wake up to this on a regular basis, has anything to do with the exercise I have done.  Even though I haven't gone to the line dancing lessons, for the past few weeks.

This music inside me when I awake, has been happening to me for quite a while, now.

While I don't really know why this is happening, I do believe that as I said in the past, that there are times when God speaks to me, through music.

Okay.  I'm not sure what it means for me to rock Him.

However, in the song, the woman he is referring to is important.  Just as I am important to Him.

He knows the troubles and trials I have been experiencing.  Even though you are not aware.

I believe He is telling me to continue on doing what I am doing.  For, just as the fellow in the song loves his woman.  My Lord loves me.

Because of His love for me, I will always bow to Him, and love Him.

Much like we read, in Ephesians 3:14-19, "For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
16 That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;
17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God."

Ah, the love of God!

There is nothing better.

He grants us strength and dwells in the hearts of those who love Him, that we can be rooted and grounded in love.  And, helps us to know the love of Christ, that we may be filled with all the fullness of God.

What a blessing this is!

At least, to me.  For, He helps me through each and every day filled with unloving things.

Hallelujah!

Thank You, Lord!

Until next time...
