Jesus Loves...

Today, being Easter Monday, I decided to share something here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), that I thought was truly wonderful.

It is a song, originally written by Anna Bartlett Warner.  However, this song has lyrics that have been changed several times.

How do I know this?  I know this, because I tried to locate a recording that would match what Anna wrote.  But, I didn't find one.

In fact, I found many versions of Jesus Loves Me.  Here is a YouTube link for you to listen and/or sing along:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DbeEuKgBW-4.  The lyrics are below.

Jesus Loves Me

Jesus loves me—this I know,
For the Bible tells me so;
Little ones to Him belong—
They are weak, but He is strong.

Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

Jesus loves me—He who died
Heaven’s gate to open wide;
He will wash away my sin,
Let His little child come in.

Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

Jesus loves me—He will stay
Close beside me all the way,
He's prepared a home for me,

then someday His face I'll see.

Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

Yes, Jesus loves me.  And, He loves everyone who belongs to Him.  Especially, since He loved us before we were ever born.

How do I know this?  The Bible tells me so.

Just as we read, in 1 John 4:19, "We love him, because he first loved us."

He loved us so very much, that He fulfilled God the Father's plan of redemption for us, by coming to earth in the form of man.  He suffered and died on a wooden cross paying the price of our sin, and rose from the dead, ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right side of God, the Father.

As I'm sure you know, it is for this reason that we celebrate Easter.

For this I love Him, praise Him and thank Him.  And, always will!

Happy Easter Monday!

Until next time...
