In yesterday's Life with Lynnie (LwL) entry, I posted a link to Amazing Love, and provided lyrics for you to read, or to use to sing the song.
There's something I feel I must say.
Amazing Love, is such a wonderful song. It speaks absolute truth.
Truth about the love of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
He loved us so very much, that He came to earth, to fulfill God the Father's plan of redemption. So, that we who trust in/believe upon Jesus, can be saved.
Saved from spending eternity in Hell. Saved from forever being separated from God. And, for so much more.
This is something my deceased husband Gordon, knew. And, me too.
Like me, Gordon knew that he was a sinner.
He knew he wasn't perfect.
He read God's Word, the Bible. And, he understood that no one was/is perfect.
Everyone is born a sinner.
Yes, he knew he was a sinner. A sinner who was saved.
He was saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ, alone. He knew that there was nothing he could have ever done to contribute to gaining his salvation.
Just as we read, in Ephesians 2:8-9, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast."
Gordon never boasted about being saved.
He didn't feel he was better than anyone else.
He did plant seeds for Christ. At work, and in other ways with people.
Just like we did together, whenever we travelled.
Life wasn't easy.
Not for him. Especially, as his health worsened.
It wasn't for me, either.
Not then. And, certainly not now.
I miss being loved. For, God blessed me with love. A true gift to me.
Even so, I am grateful that Jesus loves me. And, I always will be.
Thank You, Lord!
Until next time...
