Through It All...

If you've read Life with Lynnie (LwL) for a long time, or if you've known me personally, you'll be aware that today is a special day.  At least, it was in my past.

If my now deceased husband Gordon were still alive, this would be our wedding anniversary.

Even though this is a rather sad day of remembrance for me, I'll be heading to Bible study, that we now call Adult Sunday School.  Then, I'll worship God, with my church family.  Just as I normally, do.

I must say, it has been hard to deal with all the trials in my life.  Even so, God has helped me through.

Thinking of this, brought to mind music that is by Andrae Crouch and is entitled, Through It All.  Here is a link for you to listen and/or sing along:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iB2pPCydEjs.  The lyrics are below.

Through It All

I've had many tears and sorrows,
I've had questions for tomorrow,
There've been times I didn't know right from wrong.

But, in every situation,
God gave me blessed consolation,
That my trials come to only make me strong.

I've been a lot of places,
And I've seen millions of faces,
But there were times that I felt so all alone.

But in my lonely hour,
Yes those precious lonely hours,
Jesus let me know that I was His own.

That's the reason I say that...

Through it all,
Through it all,
I've learned to trust in Jesus,
I've learned to trust in God.
Through it all,
Through it all,
I've learned to depend upon His Word.

So I thank God for the mountains,
And I thank Him for the valleys,
And I thank Him for the storms He's brought me through.

For if I'd never had a problem,
I'd never know that God could solve them,
I'd never know what faith in His Word could do.

That's the reason I say that...

Through it all,
Through it all,
I've learned to trust in Jesus,
I've learned to trust in God.
Through it all,
Through it all,
I've learned to depend upon His Word.

Through it all,
Through it all,
I've learned to trust in Jesus,
I've learned to trust in God.
Through it all,
Through it all,
I've learned to depend upon His Word.

I've learned to depend upon His Word.
I've learned to depend upon His Word.

To me, this is an amazing song.  Even if it isn't considered to be a hymn, in the past, during worshipping through music, we as a congregation sang the chorus that I made BOLD in the above lyrics.

It touches my heart, because I know that God has helped me through.  Through every single trial I have ever experienced.

And, He gave me mercy.

Just as we read, in Romans 9:16 NIV, "It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God’s mercy."

Our own desires, or efforts do not always represent God's will for our lives.  But, His mercy does.

He shows mercy... to His children.

For this I am thankful.  And, always will be.

Are you His child?

Do you receive mercy from Him?

If not, please come to Christ.  Don't leave it.

We aren't guaranteed tomorrow.  Or, even our next breath.

Gordon may have not been a perfect person.  But then, who is?  No one.

But, He trusted in/believed upon our Lord, Jesus Christ.

For this, I praise God... for this means that one day, I will see him in heaven.

Until next time...
