Shine!

The other day, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I felt drawn to and discussed about shining a light.

A few songs came to mind, but knowing it is our Lord's Day, I thought I'd mention about one that we sometimes sing when we worship.

Yes, I'll be heading to attend Bible study class and our worship service with my church family.  And, will worship in spirit, in truth and through music.

A hymn about shining came to my mind.  It's music by Graham Kendrick, that is called Shine Jesus Shine.  Here's a link so you can listen and/or sing along:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3iB30gCqAc.  The lyrics are below.

Shine Jesus Shine

Lord the light of Your love is shining
In the midst of the darkness, shining
Jesus, Light the world, shine upon us
Set us free by the truth You now bring us
Shine on me
Shine on me

Shine, Jesus, shine
Fill this land with the Father's glory
Blaze, Spirit, blaze, Set our hearts on fire
Flow, river, flow
Flood the nations with grace and mercy
Send forth Your Word, Lord And let there be light

Lord, I come into Your awesome presence
From the shadows into Your radiance
By the blood I may enter Your brightness
Search me, try me, consume all my darkness
Shine on me
Shine on me

Shine, Jesus, shine
Fill this land with the Father's glory
Blaze, Spirit, blaze, Set our hearts on fire
Flow, river, flow
Flood the nations with grace and mercy
Send forth Your Word, Lord And let there be light

As we gaze on Your kingly brightness
So our faces display Your likeness
Ever changing from glory to glory
Mirrored here, may our lives, Tell your story
Shine on me
Shine on me

Shine, Jesus, shine
Fill this land with the Father's glory
Blaze, Spirit, blaze, Set our hearts on fire
Flow, river, flow
Flood the nations with grace and mercy
Send forth Your Word, Lord And let there be light

Shine, Jesus, shine
Fill this land with the Father's glory
Blaze, Spirit, blaze, Set our hearts on fire
Flow, river, flow
Flood the nations with grace and mercy
Send forth Your Word, Lord And let there be light

Let there be light

Light?  Light!

Jesus is the light of the world.

Just as we read, in John 8:12, "Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life."

Yes, He is the light of the world.  And, we who belong to Him/follow Him, shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life... just as Jesus told us.

Are you walking in darkness?

Or, do you follow Jesus... and have the light of life?

We all must come to Jesus as some point in our lives and trust in/believe upon Him.

If we don't, we'll suffer for eternity, separated from God.  With no chance of escape.

If we commit our lives to Him, we will be eternally blessed, being with Jesus in Heaven, forever.

Do this today, if you haven't already done so.

Come to Jesus.  Repent.  And, you'll live a much different and blessed life.

Until next time...
