Family!

Before I begin today's Life with Lynnie (LwL) entry, I would like to say that if my parents were still alive, today would be a special day.  Their wedding anniversary.  Mom and dad, I miss you... and will always love you.

Once again, here on LwL, I will let you know that I am going to be with my church family, today.

Like most SONday's, I'll be heading early this morning, to attend Bible study class.  This happens about an hour earlier than our worship service begins.

How grateful I am that my church family and I worship in spirit and in truth.  Of course, I adore using music, also.

A chorus came to mind, that is sometimes sung in churches.

With my church family, I don't recall singing this, but did with another church family.  A second (2nd) group where I used to help out, in addition to my normal worshipping church family.

This was sung every week.

This traditional chorus is by Bill and Gloria Gaither and is entitled, The Family of God.  Here is a link for you to listen and/or sing along:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mz3R7er2mh8.  The lyrics are below.

The Family Of God

I'm so glad I'm a part of the Family of God,
I've been washed in the fountain, cleansed by His blood!
Joint heirs with Jesus as we travel this sod,
For I'm part of the family,
The Family of God.

I'm so glad I'm a part of the Family of God,
I've been washed in the fountain, cleansed by His blood!
Joint heirs with Jesus as we travel this sod,
For I'm part of the family,
The Family of God.

I'm so glad I'm a part of the Family of God,
I've been washed in the fountain, cleansed by His blood!
Joint heirs with Jesus as we travel this sod,
For I'm part of the family,
The Family of God.

For I'm part of the family,
The Family of God.

How grateful I am, that I am a member of the family of God.

Just as the lyrics state, I've been washed in the fountain, cleansed by His blood!

God allowed and provided for each of us, who received our Lord, Jesus Christ, to become sons (and/or daughters, even though the Bible states sons, based upon the idea of mankind) of God.

Just as we read, in John 1:12-13, "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God."

Yes, those of us who are children of God were not born of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man.  We were born by the will of God.  Through spiritual power.

Being born of the spirit gives us salvation, by trusting in/believing upon our Lord, Jesus Christ.

If you haven't yet come to Christ, then please do so, today.  Tomorrow, may be too late.

Until next time...
