Change...

Just as I usually say on SONday, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), my plan for today is to go worship with my church family.  And, attend Bible study.

Being our Lord's Day, it touches my heart, being able to go and do that.

Of course, I also love to worship through music.  Anyone who knows me, knows this.

There is a chorus that touches my heart, fairly regularly.

It's by Eddie Espinosa and is entitled, Change My Heart, O God.  Here is a link sung by Hillsong, so you can listen and/or sing along:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwudqCO7mSQ.  The lyrics are below.

Change My Heart, O God

Change my heart, O God,
Make it ever true.
Change my heart, O God,
May I be like You.

Change my heart, O God,
Make it ever true.
Change my heart, O God,
May I be like You.

You are the Potter,
I am the clay;
Mold me and make me,
This is what I pray.

Change my heart, O God,
Make it ever true.
Change my heart, O God,
May I be like You.

Jesus, oh Jesus,
Come and fill your lamb.
Jesus, oh Jesus,
Come and fill your lamb.

Jesus, oh Jesus,
Come and fill your lamb.
Jesus, oh Jesus,
Come and fill your lamb.

While the last verse sung twice, is recorded here, I believe it may possibly have been written and added by Hillsong.  The reason I think this, is because it is not part of the lyrics quoted by sites that provide the lyrics written by Eddie Espinosa.

If you're wondering why I said this, it is because whenever worshipping with my church family, both now and in the past, we've only ever sung everything the same way, except for the part that begins saying, Jesus, oh Jesus

So, I researched.  Here is a link to Wikipedia, confirming that the ending quoting Jesus' name is not there:  http://lyrics.wikia.com/Eddie_Espinosa:Change_My_Heart,_Oh_God

No matter what, I believe it is a wonderful chorus.  Not just due to the music itself, that is beautiful.  But, the lyrics are so very important to us.

Just as we read, in John 4:24, "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."

We must worship God, in spirit and in truth.  Just as we read in today's verse.

When we do this, we know we have been obedient to God's calling.  After all, God has commanded us to do so.

By worshipping, and attending Bible study, we not only gain knowledge of God and what He would have us do, but He also fills us.  And, changes us.

Do you worship?  Do you read your Bible?  Do you attend Bible study?

Are you obedient to God?

I pray this is the case.  I pray you do all these things, because if you do, you will be blessed by Him.

And, I pray this, in Jesus' precious name.  Amen.

Until next time...
