Through It All...

Today, being SONday, I'm doing what I've mentioned many times, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL).

I'm heading to Bible study.  Afterwards, to worship with my church family... in spirit and in truth.  And, through music.

Thinking about what I've discussed over time, here on LwL, about going through trials, being lonely, and about trusting in God, brought to mind a song that I've sang part of in church, in the past.  But, not entirely.

It is a song by Andrae Crouch entitled, Through It All.  Here is a link so you can listen to and/or sing along:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvIxwc90BEI.

Through It All

I've had many tears and sorrows
I've had questions for tomorrow
There've been times when I didn't know right from wrong
But in every situation
God gave me blessed consolation
That my trials only come to make me strong

I've been a lot of places
And I've seen millions of faces
But there were times when I've felt so all alone
But right there, in my lonely hour
It became a  precious, lonely hour
For Jesus let me know that I was His own

Now I can say
Through it all
Through it all
I've learned to trust in Jesus
I've learned to trust in God
Through it all
Through it all, oh yes
I've learned to depend upon His Word

So now I thank God for the mountains
And I thank Him for the valleys
And I thank Him for the storms He's brought me through
For if I'd never had a problem
I'd never know that God could solve them
I'd never know what faith in the Word of God could do

But, now I can tell that
That through it all
Through it all, oh yes
Don't you know, I've learned to trust in Jesus
I've learned to trust in God
Let me tell you that through it all
Through it all, oh yes

Oh I've learned to depend upon His Word

Every child of God in the night
You ought to thank God for every mountain
You should thank Him for those valleys
You should thank Him for those storms
That He's bringing you through right now
For if you never had a problem
You'd never know that God can solve them
You'll never know what faith in the Word of God could do

But, you can stand like a soldier in faith
Through it all
Oh, sometimes through the fire
But, through it all, oh yes
Don't you know I've learned to trust in Jesus
I've learned to trust in God

Oh, through it all, my Lord
Through it all
Don't you know I've learned to depend upon His Word
Through my sickness and pain
I've learned to depend upon His Word
When the doctor walked from my bed and shook his head
Right then, I've learned to depend upon His Word

Just as we heard in this song, I believe we need to depend upon His Word.  The Bible.

While the scriptures were written by men, they were inspired by God.

So, we need to trust in the Bible.  For by reading His Word, we grow in faith.  Just as God wants us to.

Just as we read, in John 17:17, "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth."

Hopefully, if you are a child of God's, you read His Word, the Bible.  If not, please begin doing so.

For many years now, every January, I begin reading the Bible.  I start in Genesis, and finish by reading Revelation.  Just as I did last year, on October 10th, 2014.

Once I've finished reading the Bible, I then focus on various books I want to reread.

So, my friend... join me in reading, and getting to know God's Word.  He'll bless you for this!

Until next time...
