Today, I want to say something else here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), that touches my heart.
I want to wish my grandson, S Happy Birthday! S, I'm looking forward to seeing you, later today! Love, Grandma. xoxo
After spending time together with S, and our family, I believe I will go and spend time in the evening with a church group I recently heard about. Apparently, the group is new to my city, and meets at a hotel.
A Facebook (FB) friend invited me to attend their church event for New Year's Eve!
After hearing about the event, I also told my friend, C about it. Hopefully, she'll be joining me, there.
C and I spent some time together this past Monday. We did something we haven't done in a while.
After meeting up, C drove us to Detroit, Michigan, USA!
Once we crossed the border through the tunnel, we made our way to the post office, on Fort St. You see, there was no point in me mailing something from Canada, to a friend in USA, since we were going there for a couple hours.
Then, we made our way to a Mexican restaurant that I enjoy!
While there, we talked and enjoyed every bite of food we could eat. Then, took our leftovers home with us!
I have to thank C for doing this with me. Plus, I thank her for our meal and the gifts I received from her, for Christmas, and for my birthday!
Yes, it had been a while since we spent time having fun, together!
I must admit, I truly feel loved. And, blessed.
Thinking about being loved by my friend C, reminded me of Proverbs 17:17, "A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity."
Some people might think it strange for me to think of this Bible verse. But, it truly came to my mind.
After all, C is definitely a friend of mine. A friend who is Christian, and who loves me.
Yes, the verse tells us that a brother is born for adversity.
Think of it, this way... my friend C, who is Christian, has chosen to love me. She didn't need to. But, she did, and does, always. Just as God expects of her.
Just as I love her.
Yes, I love my brother. And, others probably do, also.
But, think of this verse in this way... when we have a brother (and/or sister), they are not yet always brothers or sisters... in Christ. Sometimes, they are just a sibling. At least, through part of their life.
Not all siblings love our Lord, and have gained salvation. Hopefully, at some point, they will!
However, with a situation where they may have not yet gained salvation, adversity could and probably is an issue that is dealt with throughout part of their lives.
How grateful I am that God has shown us and told us, what to expect in life.
Thank You, Lord!
I truly feel blessed.
By the way, I want to wish you Happy New Year, my friend!
May God bless you!
Until next time...

K! and Donor?!
Today, I want to say something here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), that touches my heart.
If my granddaughter, K were alive, she'd be a beautiful teenager. For today would be her birthday. She would have become 17 years old.
It breaks my heart that she's not here on earth. But, it makes me happy that she is in Heaven. And, I will see her, at some point in the future.
For this, I praise God!
Now, today's LwL entry will begin.
If you read LwL yesterday, you'll know I wrote about my brother. And, his health. If you didn't read that LwL entry, please do so. This way, you'll understand better what I am discussing, today.
If you read the message my brother Bob e-mailed me, you'll know that he thanked all who have prayed for him. I also thank you, and all who have prayed for him.
Towards the end of his message he addressed another issue.
Becoming a donor.
Here's what he said:
On a final note, I urge you all to consider becoming a registered organ and tissue donor. The need has never been greater, and one organ donor can save or change the lives of eight people. A tissue donor can help as many as 70 or more people needing, as an example, skin grafts, bone replacement, mastectomy rebuilds and eye sight.
There are some religious groups who believe that no one should receive transplants, or even blood transfusions. However, I don't believe that is what God expects of us. If this was true, I don't believe transplants, or transfusions would work, for God would be able to prevent this type of medical treatment from working.
I believe that He wants us to do for others, what we can do. After all, He did tell us to love others, as ourselves (Matthew 22:39... and/or other verses).
By giving yourself to others, in the event of your death, I believe you will be blessed.
Just as we read, in Proverbs 22:9, "He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor."
While God's Word, the Bible tells us what we just read, refers to giving bread to the poor, there are other places in the Bible, where we are also told that by even giving a drink of water, we will be blessed.
Doing things for others, is so very important. Certainly, to God. But, also to people.
With all the health problems we can have in life, God provides for us through medicine.
Definitely, through prescriptions. But, also through what physicians and surgeons do for us.
Just so you know, in addition to my brother having a kidney transplant, I also have a Facebook (FB) friend who had a transplant, a handful of years ago.
J lives in Texas, USA. She had a double-lung transplant.
Just before J was able to receive the double-lung transplant, she was extremely ill. And, almost died.
God provided for her, the way He just did for my brother.
For this, I am thankful. And, always will be.
Thank You, Lord!
My friend, please remember that God told us that there is a time to be born and a time to die.
If your time is happening, it may not be due to health issues. It may be due to an accident, or something similar.
If this is the case, some of your organs and tissue, may be healthy enough to help someone in need of medical care, involving transplants, etc.
Please pray. Then, register yourself as a donor.
By doing so, at some point at the end of your life, you may bless someone, just as my friend and my brother were blessed, by receiving a transplant.
Even though the donor's family will grieve the loss of their loved one, I believe they will be happy that their loved one helped others, who are in need.
If you do register yourself as a donor, I believe you have a bountiful eye, just as we read in today's Bible verse. And, I believe God will truly bless you.
Thank you, my friend.
Until next time...

My Brother's Thanks To You!
From time to time, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I have asked for prayer. Not just for a single situation or person, but for many various things or people.
There is someone I asked for prayer, who truly received help from our Lord. It's my brother, Bob.
As you know, I usually just use a letter, when I refer to someone. But, every once in a while, I'm given a situation where I can use their name. Just like, today.
I should let you know that what I am sharing with you today, is actually an e-mail message I received a few weeks ago. With being busy, I didn't share it with you. But, am doing so, today.
Being the end of the year, I feel I need to bring this information to you. This way, you can see that 2015 has been a good year for my brother.
Here's the message I received from him:
Hi Lynn:
Bob Rutter
There is someone I asked for prayer, who truly received help from our Lord. It's my brother, Bob.
As you know, I usually just use a letter, when I refer to someone. But, every once in a while, I'm given a situation where I can use their name. Just like, today.
I should let you know that what I am sharing with you today, is actually an e-mail message I received a few weeks ago. With being busy, I didn't share it with you. But, am doing so, today.
Being the end of the year, I feel I need to bring this information to you. This way, you can see that 2015 has been a good year for my brother.
Here's the message I received from him:
Hi Lynn:
Could you please forward the following to all those you contacted to pray for helping me get my kidney transplant. I know that it has been about two months since I received the new organ but I have been dealing with some minor issues. Now it looks like all systems are a go, and the kidney is here to stay -- although there is still some healing to be done.
The text of my thank you follows:
Please accept my thanks with much gratitude for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers as I spent that past eight years on dialysis while awaiting a kidney transplant.
Your unselfish acts of kindness bore fruit on Sept. 21 when I received a kidney from an unknown deceased donor. During the past several weeks, I have endured a normal recovery that has required close medical attention to ensure the kidney will settle into my body and not be rejected. It has at times been a painful and uncomfortable process but I remained positive throughout because of the very significant change in lifestyle that has come into my life.
I believe your gracious and welcome thoughts and prayers helped me to weather the difficulties I faced during the period immediately following the surgery. I hope the love and compassion you each showed toward me will carry on for others facing serious medical treatments.
Once again, thank you for all the support you have given me. I know God will Bless each and every one of you.
Bob Rutter
I hope you read my brother Bob's message. If you have, then you are aware that he had a kidney transplant.
Even since I received this message, his health has continued to improve. For this, I am truly thankful.
Thankful that God answered prayer requested for my brother.
Just as Jesus told us He would, in the latter portion of John 16:23, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you."
How thankful I am that God answered the prayer requests that came from me... and from you!
Praise God! Thank You, Lord!
Yes, I am thankful that God has provided for my brother. But, I am also thankful that you prayed for him.
For this, I am truly grateful of you!
May God bless you, my friend.
Until next time...

Ahhh...
If you read Life with Lynnie (LwL) yesterday, you'll know that I intended to worship with my church family. Well, just so you know... I did!
In addition to worshipping, as we normally do, something else happened. We watched a video filled with many, many photos.
The pics were of anyone/everyone who participated in things that went on over the whole year of 2015.
Along with photos of other people, there were photos of me. And, of my granddaughter, A.
Unfortunately, she wasn't there to see this. :(
On my way home, I stopped and did a small bit of shopping. Well, it was a small bit, even though it was at two (2) stores.
While going up in the elevator with a couple of people who live in the same building as me, a fellow spoke about how he just arrived home, after driving quite a distance.
The other lady and I both felt badly for him. We both suggested that he chill out and have a nap.
He agreed, he would.
Just as I exited the elevator, I commented that I'm hoping/thinking about going to Arizona, USA. He laughed.
Then, he commented that he'd like to be in the trunk of my vehicle! I must admit, his remark made me laugh! lol :D
Once I sorted out and placed away the items I brought home with me, I did exactly what I had suggested to that fellow.
I went and laid down. In bed.
I had a 40+ wink nap!! Ahhh.... :) :D
Resting, was such a blessing to me!
Much like we read, in Proverbs 3:24, "When thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid: yea, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet."
Just as we read in today's Bible verse, when I laid down, I was not afraid. My sleep was sweet.
In fact, I felt absolutely wonderful, when I later awoke!
For this, I am truly grateful!
Thank You, Lord!
Until next time...

Rejoice!
Every other SONday, when I am well enough to do so, I let you know here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), that I'm going to worship with my church family. Just as I am saying, today.
Like I've said before, we worship in spirit and in truth. And, through music.
What we will sing during our worship service today, is unknown to me. But, I feel that even though Christmas has now passed, we need to rejoice. Rejoice, over the birth of Christ. Rejoice, every day of the year!
The music I'm sharing today, is actually an advent Christian hymn, by John Mason Neale and Henry Sloan Coffin. It's entitled, O Come, O Come, Emmanuel. Here's a link for you to listen to and/or sing along: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RP4iyJqrPvY . The lyrics of this recording, are below.
O Come, O Come, Emmanuel
From depths of Hell, Thy people save
And, give them victory o'er the grave.
How grateful I am that prophecy was fulfilled. God sent His only begotten Son to earth, to Israel. Just as those lyrics, say.
Even though not all Jews accepted Jesus at that time, God opened the door for each of us in the world, to gain salvation, by trusting in/believing upon our Lord, Jesus Christ.
For this, I am thankful. And, always will be. Especially, since I rejoice in what God did for us.
Just as we read, in Philippians 4:4, "Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice."
My friend, rejoice. Rejoice. Rejoice, always.
If you do, you will be blessed.
Until next time...

Thy people with Thine advent here;
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night
And, death's dark shadows put to flight.
Rejoice, rejoice, Emmanuel!

O come, Thou Rod of Jesse's, free
Thine own from Satan's tyrannyFrom depths of Hell, Thy people save

Before!
Here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I had hoped to let you know something more about last Sunday, but wasn't able to. Especially, since Christmas Eve and Christmas Day was being celebrated!
What I am referring to involves my daughter, P. And, her boyfriend, K.
I truly thank them for helping me do what I physically wasn't able to do.
When I left my church family, I planned to head home to do some work. I texted P, just as I told her I would do.
At the time, I felt totally exhausted. You see, I had only about two (2) hours sleep Saturday night.
If P and K weren't planning to come to my apartment, I would have taken a 40-wink nap!
P's response to me, was that instead of them immediately leaving home to come to where I live, they were going to wait about an hour. Oh, my goodness!
Hearing that absolutely touched my heart. Not just because I was happy at the thought of having a nap.
I was happy, because I realized that since God knew I needed some rest, He provided for me! Even though I hadn't asked him to do this!
Thinking of this, brought to mind Matthew 6:8, "Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him."
Yes, I do believe God knew exactly what I was in need of.
Of course, I had a short nap, before P and K arrived. But, was truly happy to see them.
They helped me do some physical re-organization of things I wanted to do, at home. In addition, we sorted through some things that I felt needed to go to P, my daughter B, and my deceased husband Gordon's son, K.
Thank you, P and K, for helping me! I truly am thankful for what you did for me.
Praise God! Hallelujah!
May God will bless you, for what you did, for me.
My friend, I pray that you look to God, for everything in your life.
If you do, I know you will be blessed.
Until next time...

Merry CHRISTmas!
Here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I wish you Merry Christmas!
Why do I wish you this?
Because just as we read would happen,
in the Old Testament portion
of God's Word, the Bible,
our Lord and Saviour was born.
Just as we read, in Isaiah 9:6, "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace."
Yes, Jesus is called many things.
Like those in the Bible verse,
plus Immanuel/Emmanuel.
But, His parents named Him, Jesus.
Happy Birthday, Jesus!
How grateful I am
that Jesus was born.
Thank You, Father,
for you have provided us
with eternal life,
by sending your only begotten Son
to earth, to provide us with salvation,
by trusting in/believing upon Him.
May God bless
each of you readers.
I consider you my friends.
And, hopefully
if you are not already
a brother or sister in the Lord,
you will become one, soon.
Merry CHRISTmas, my friends and family!
Until next time...

What Child Is This?
Today, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I'll be once again discussing the upcoming birth of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
In the Old Testament portion of God's Word, the Bible, (Isaiah 7:14) we read that when He was to be born, Virgin Mary would call Him... Immanuel/Emmanuel... meaning... God with us.
Upon His birth, some people thought that Immanuel/Emmanuel would be our Lord's name. But, it didn't have to be. It was meant only for Mary in the New Testament, to fulfill the prophecy of the Old Testament.
This was confirmed in the New Testament portion of the Bible (Matthew 1:23) when it actually happened! Praise God! Hallelujah!
Mary did call Him... Immanuel/Emmanuel, for she knew that He was... God with us!
Then, she and Joseph named our Lord and Saviour, Jesus.
Thinking about all this, and thinking about what child this truly was, made me think of music that most people are aware of. The lyrics are by William Chatterton Dix, who applied the lyrics to the music/tune of Greensleeves, and is called, What Child Is This. Here is a link for you to listen and/or sing along: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwyvWQxoVhk. The lyrics are below.
What Child Is This
How grateful I am that God provided Jesus to come to earth and become our Lord and Saviour. Our Christ, who came to earth to provide salvation to all who will believe upon Him.
Just as we read, in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
All I can say to you, is... Merry Christmas! For the child who provides everlasting life, was born!
Praise God! Hallelujah!
Until next time...

What Child Is This
What child is this, who, laid to rest,
On Mary's lap is sleeping?
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet,
While shepherds watch are keeping?
This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing:
Haste, haste to bring Him laud,
The babe, the son of Mary.
On Mary's lap is sleeping?
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet,
While shepherds watch are keeping?
This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing:
Haste, haste to bring Him laud,
The babe, the son of Mary.
Why lies He in such mean estate,
Where ox and ass are feeding?
Good Christians fear, for sinners here
The silent Word is pleading.
Nails, spears shall pierce him through,
the cross he bore for me, for you.
Hail, hail the Word made flesh,
the Babe, the Son of Mary.
Where ox and ass are feeding?
Good Christians fear, for sinners here
The silent Word is pleading.
Nails, spears shall pierce him through,
the cross he bore for me, for you.
Hail, hail the Word made flesh,
the Babe, the Son of Mary.
So bring him incense, gold, and myrrh,
Come, peasant king to own him.
The King of kings salvation brings,
Let loving hearts enthrone him.
Raise, raise a song on high,
The virgin sings her lullaby
Joy, joy for Christ is born,
The babe, the Son of Mary.
Come, peasant king to own him.
The King of kings salvation brings,
Let loving hearts enthrone him.
Raise, raise a song on high,
The virgin sings her lullaby
Joy, joy for Christ is born,
The babe, the Son of Mary.
Just as we read, in John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
All I can say to you, is... Merry Christmas! For the child who provides everlasting life, was born!
Praise God! Hallelujah!
Merry CHRISTmas, my friends and family!

I Will!
As you probably are aware, if you've read recent Life with Lynnie (LwL) entries, we had a pot-luck luncheon after our worship service, last Sunday.
I previously mentioned about how some of my family members were at the worship service, and the luncheon.
Ahh... I must admit, this made me truly happy! Thank You, Lord!
After the meal was done, all my family members left. This made me feel slightly sad, even though they already had things planned.
You see, after the meal was done, our children who attend Sunday school were placed on teams, and played games. Yes, not just one (1) game, but more than that!
In my heart, I wished A had been able to stay and enjoy that time with her fellow mates.
It was so much fun that it made the children laugh. And, the adults laughed hard, too! :)
Afterwards, the adults played a game. Women against men.
Once again, laughter was so loud by all in attendance, that I'm sure it must have echoed throughout the whole church building. And, possibly even outside, also!
After that, all who had brought with them a gift for exchange proceeded with another game.
During this time, I received a gift from the same couple that received a gift from me, last year. This made us both feel happy! :)
But, something else made me a little bit sad. Yet, happy!
It's never before happened. Yet, it happened at that time.
You see, when my family and I had gone to the table I reserved for us (which was something I had never done before), I found someone had placed a Christmas bag beside the table.
The bag was addressed to me. Lynn McKenzie. Yet the only thing it said on it about who it was from, was... from a friend.
From a friend?!
To me this was shocking. After all, as I said earlier, this had never before happened to me.
In addition, a couple of people came up to me and wished me Merry Christmas. And, they also gave me a gift!
I wasn't just shocked. I felt badly.
You see, had I known this was going to happen, I would have brought gifts for people.
Yes, in the past I had seen people giving gifts to each other. But, they were family members, who I thought wanted to take the time at our Christmas dinner and fun time to exchange gifts, rather than have to visit each other, on Christmas Day!
Even so, I praised God for the love I felt I received from some of my church family members. Thank You, Lord!
I even spoke up! I thanked them. And, I thanked God!
Thinking of this, brought to mind Psalm 30:12, "To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks unto thee for ever."
I praise Him, for allowing me to worship with a church family, that seems to truly care for me. I will not be silent. Just as I'm not being silent, now. And, I will give thanks to Him, forever.
Thank You, Lord! You've truly made me feel blessed with this church family, at Walkerville Evangelical Baptist Church.
May You, bless each and every person!
Until next time...

Hope...
Hopefully, you read yesterday's Life with Lynnie (LwL) entry.
If you did, you'll know that my granddaughter, A played her part in the Christmas musical play. As I mentioned yesterday, A was an angel.
After our worship service, she wasn't taken home. Instead, A joined me and our church family for our pot-luck luncheon.
Now, please understand, it wasn't just A who joined me. It was most of her family, who are my family, who joined us!
Thank You, Lord!
Not just because the food was delicious, as it normally is. But, also because of family members joining us!
There were so many of us, that we actually totally filled a table. I feel badly that I didn't think to get a pic of everyone at the table, until it was too late to do it.
However, my daughter B had taken a few pics. None had everyone in it. But, she had a photo of her, A and A's brother, J!
Ahh... to be honest, my heart was so very happy! There were moments when I felt like tears of joy were filling me.
Thinking of the joy I was feeling, reminded me of Psalm 16:8-9, "I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope."
Just as we read in today's Bible verses, I must admit that I have set the Lord always before me. He is at my right hand, and I shall not be moved.
But, in addition, my heart is therefore glad, and my glory rejoiceth... and my flesh also shall rest in hope.
In my heart, I hope that anyone/everyone I know will come to know Christ, and gain salvation.
How does anyone gain salvation?
Trust in/believe upon our Lord, Jesus Christ, and you shall be saved (Acts 16:31).
For this, I praise God! Hallelujah!
Until next time...

Angel!
Just as I mention yesterday, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I went to worship with my church family.
No, I didn't go and pick up my granddaughter, A. Her family brought her, so she could participate in the Christmas musical play.
My daughter, B made a video of it. So, did I. I'm sure B's is better than mine, because this was the first time I had ever filmed a video on my cell phone! :)
A, was an angel.
I must admit, I was truly happy my family brought A, today. She did very well, during the play. And, sang with the group to honour our Lord, Jesus Christ!
In the past, A has told me she loves Jesus.
For this, I praise God! Hallelujah!
After all, our Lord told us to let little children come unto Him.
Just as we read, in Matthew 19:14, "But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven."
Yes, we need to let children come unto Jesus. Just as we see in today's Bible verse.
For, this will lead them to salvation... if it is God's will.
I praise God for making it so that A has been able to come to Jesus. Thank You, Lord!
Hopefully, you have also let your children, grandchildren or even just young children you know, attend Sunday school and/or Daily Vacation Bible School (DVBS)... like my daughter B allowed. For this plants seeds for Christ.
Have you?
If not, please pray about doing it.
If you do, or if you have... you will be blessed!
Until next time...

Go!
Here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I'll be letting you know once again, that I am going to worship with my church family.
Our worship service will be wonderful, because the children will be participating in a Christmas musical play. I know it will touch my heart. Just as our regular worship does... but, more.
Knowing that it is close to Christmas, I thought I would share with you some music I sang last weekend, at my friend's church dinner that I attended. I'm sure you are aware of it.
In addition to other songs I sang, I sang... O Holy Night. It was originally written by Adolphe Adam and later, lyrics were by Placide Cappeau and John Sullivan Dwight. Here is a link sung by Josh Groban, so you can listen to and/or sing along to his version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17kiIIxSdC0. The lyrics are below.
O Holy Night
Noel, noel
Oh night, oh night divine
Noel, noel
Oh night, oh night divine
Noel, noel
Oh night, oh night divine
Our Saviour's birth was a true Holy night. A night when our Lord, Jesus Christ was born.
We may not know exactly when He was born. But to me, it doesn't matter.
I celebrate our Lord, Jesus Christ every day of my life.
Since the world generally wants to celebrate His birth on December 25th of each year, I accept that. For this gives not just me, but every single brother and sister in Christ an opportunity to not just celebrate Jesus' birth... but, also plant those seeds for Christ.
Just as we were told to do, in Mark 16:15, "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."
Yes, we are to go into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
And, I do.
Whatever and whenever I can, I do whatever I can do to fulfil God's command to me. I let people know about Jesus.
I let them know about their need for salvation. And, I let them know that by trusting in/believing upon our Lord, Jesus Christ, they shall be saved (Acts 16:31).
God didn't expect this only of me. He expects it of you, also.
Hopefully, you do the same.
If you do, God will bless you. Always.
Until next time...

O Holy Night
Oh, holy night
The stars are brightly shining
It is the night of our dear Savior's birth
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth
The stars are brightly shining
It is the night of our dear Savior's birth
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn
Fall on your knees
Oh, hear the Angel voices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn
Fall on your knees
Oh, hear the Angel voices
Oh night divine, oh night
When Christ was born
O, night divine, oh night
Oh night divine
When Christ was born
O, night divine, oh night
Oh night divine
Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother
And in His name all oppression shall cease
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we
Let all within us praise His holy name
Christ is the Lord, let ever, ever praise Thee
And in His name all oppression shall cease
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we
Let all within us praise His holy name
Christ is the Lord, let ever, ever praise Thee

Charity!
Before I begin today's Life with Lynnie (LwL) entry, I want to wish my daughter, P... Happy Birthday! I'm looking forward to spending time with you, and our family, today! xoxo
Today, I'll be letting you know about some more movies I've watched!
* Tender is the Night, starring Jennifer Jones, Jason Robards and more actors! Here is a link for you to read about it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tender_Is_the_Night_(film). This was a movie about love and divorce. To me, it was okay, but not special.
* Three Coins in the Fountain, starring Clifton Webb, Dorothy McGuire and several other actors. Check it out, here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Coins_in_the_Fountain_(film). This romantic comedy film touched my heart. Not just due to what was in the movie itself, but even more due to the fact that I recall being at the Trevi Fountain with my now deceased husband, Gordon. Yes, we both threw coins into the fountain... But, we will never return there together, again.
* Love and Savagery, starring Allan Hawco, Sarah Greene, and more actors. Here is where you can find info on it (unfortunately I didn't find a link for Wikipedia...sniff, sniff): http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1213921/. To me, it seemed to be a very different movie. Yes, there was some sin in the movie, but it was actually more about love. Not just love for a couple... but, more about love for God.
* The Owl and the Pussycat, starring Barbra Streisand and George Segal. Check out this link for information: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Owl_and_the_Pussycat_(film). Even though this film had a lot of questionable things in it, it certainly was a romantic comedy film.
* I Was a Male Warbride, starring Cary Grant, Ann Sheridan and Marion Marshall. Check it out, here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Was_a_Male_War_Bride. Even though this is called a comedy film, I do believe there was love in it. If not, the Male Warbride situation would not have been dealt with. I enjoyed this movie!
Even though these films were basically filled with comedy and sin, they all seemed to be focusing on 'love'.
Love is so very important.
Just as we read, in 1 Peter 4:8, "And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins."
As you may or may not be aware, I usually use KJV Bible verses, on LwL.
Knowing that some Christians are aware, I wouldn't need to expand my writing in another way. But, since some readers may not know about the difference in wording in different versions of the Bible, I thought that I would also use the NKJV of 1 Peter 4:8, "And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.” "
Surely, you can see that the older version of the Bible uses the word 'charity', which meant 'love'. But, in the newer version of the Bible, it uses the word 'love', so that people do not need to learn about older words in use.
Reading these two (2) versions actually tell us the same thing. Above all things, we need to have fervent love for one another, for 'love will cover a multitude of sins'.
This is such a wonderful Bible verse, for it shows us that love will cover a multitude of sins.
Not just for us, by us. But also, regarding our God's love for us!
After all, no one who has ever lived here on earth, has ever loved people more than He has. Jesus, gave His life so that we would have a way to gain salvation, and receive everlasting life and love.
Thank you, my Lord, Jesus Christ! I'm truly thankful you love me. And, others.
Until next time...

But...
Once again, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I'll be discussing something that I believe isn't truly being dealt with.
At least, not throughout the world.
Again, I have copied and pasted an e-mail I received. It's from Jordan Sekulow, from the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ).
Here's the copy of the e-mail I received:
Lynn,
ISIS - the Islamic State - has kidnapped more Christians in Iraq.
It executed three on video. It is demanding $1 million ransom - each - for dozens more.
Christians in the cradle of Christianity are on the verge of extinction.
About 1.3 million Christians have been displaced, murdered, or imprisoned since 2003 in Iraq alone.
In the face of ISIS genocide against them, the remaining Christians now face a harsh winter that could put them closer to extinction.
The survivors will once again face the historic evil of ISIS which beheads, enslaves, and eliminates Christians throughout Iraq and the Middle East.
How many Christians will survive until next Christmas?
We're aggressively fighting in Congress, at the U.N., and across the globe to defend these persecuted
Christians.
Iraq's Christians must not be extinguished. Be heard while there is still time.
Sign Our Urgent Petition: Defend Iraq's Persecuted Christians.
Jordan Sekulow
As I've said before, I find this truly upsetting.
Islam is teaching every single Muslim to do what is written in their Qur'an and other holy books.
Yet, it seems some and/or many people don't believe this.
Why? Because not every Muslim does the jihad attacks. At least... not yet.
As the numbers of Muslims grow within our western countries, life with change.
Can we prevent this?
I don't believe so. Although, I do believe we can slow things down by not allowing Muslims more rights, in our countries.
The only good thing I can think of, is the fact that even though Muslims persecute us Christians, they will suffer, eventually.
2 Timothy 3:13, "But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived."
Yes, evil men like those Muslims that kidnap, beat, rape and/or murder women, children and men also, shall wax worse and worse... deceiving and being deceived. Deceived by the god of their teachings.
Unless they come to Christ and gain salvation.
The only thing that I believe may change things, is if our new government leader doesn't open the door for Islam to have more, and more rights here in Canada.
Please, pray with me that Justin Trudeau will protect us. And, do whatever you can to help all who live here in Canada.
Otherwise, persecution and suffering will happen much sooner.
Thank you. May God bless you.
Until next time...

Please, pray with me that Justin Trudeau will protect us. And, do whatever you can to help all who live here in Canada.
Otherwise, persecution and suffering will happen much sooner.
Thank you. May God bless you.
Until next time...

All Shall!
If you read Life with Lynnie (LwL) for a while, you'll know that I address issues the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), e-mails me.
A couple of days ago, I received another message. This one referred to an eight (8) year old Pakistani girl.
Here's the message I received:
Why did I share both messages with you?
Well, I personally find it upsetting that this Christian girl of this age of eight (8) years old was attacked this way. And, so was some of her family members.
By who? By Muslims.
After all, I have grandchildren.
Thinking of what happened to this girl, and to her family is truly upsetting to me. Why?
Because I am aware of what Muslims are doing throughout the world. They are persecuting Christians.
Mainly in countries where they have large numbers of Islamic people. But, eventually it will also happen here, in Canada... as long as our government gives Muslims more rights.
Is this shocking? Not really.
After all, God told us that we will suffer persecution.
Just as we read, in2 Timothy 3:12, "Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution."
Hopefully, you read and re-read that verse. If you did, you'll understand that ALL that will live Godly in Christ Jesus SHALL suffer persecution.
Have you?

I actually heard about this little girl's situation a short time ago. Here's the original message:
Lynn,
Muslim attackers brutalized an 8-year-old Christian girl.
This young girl – Parwasha – was kidnapped, stripped, and beaten.
Her attackers then left her naked and shamed in the streets of Pakistan.
Like happens so often in Pakistan, a Muslim family had a vendetta against a Christian family because of their faith. They attacked this innocent girl.
Even worse, town authorities refused to prosecute her attackers and instead arrested members of the Christian family on false charges.
We’ve mobilized our office in Pakistan. We’ve had tremendous success protecting persecuted Christians in Pakistan. We’ve won numerous victories in court, defending Christians from false charges for their faith and ensuring radical Islamic mobs and attackers are prosecuted.
Now, our attorneys on the ground are preparing a legal petition to the Pakistani police to press charges against this Christian girl’s attackers.
As we work in the legal system, we need you to be heard.
Sign Our Petition: Defend Parwasha. Prosecute Her Attackers.

Touched My Heart...
Hopefully, you read yesterday's Life with Lynnie (LwL) entry.
If not, please do so. Read it. If you do, you'll understand what I am discussing, today.
There's more information I'd like to let you know about.
In addition to the music I already discussed, more was done. And, I was asked to participate with my friend D, plus two (2) other ladies.
What we were to do, was to lead the group of people into singing some Christmas carols.
The other two (2) ladies, began singing differently than my friend D and I did. They were singing other songs. And, in different vocal levels.
They sounded funny.
Actually, many people found them funny, too. Especially, when they asked us if that was what they were to sing.
After explaining the reality of the music, we all sang together, and led the group.
This happened another time, a little later.
Once again, the group laughed. And, so did D, and I! :)
Just so you know, this was done exclusively to be humerous. And, it was. They were.
It truly lightened up the group with fun, and laughter.
Then, the pastor spoke. Not for a hugely long sermon. But, he spoke about the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Just as I'm sure you are probably aware.
He spoke about how when Jesus was born, wise men came to see Him.
Thinking of what he spoke about, and knowing he used the Book of Matthew, I decided to share with you, Matthew 2:1, "Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,"
Just as we've read in various portions of God's Word, the Bible, we know that the wise men were drawn to see our newborn Lord, Jesus.
Just so you know, this was the first time in quite a while, since I had heard this pastor preach. I realize I haven't yet told you about him.
Pastor Brandon Taylor, is someone I've known for over 21 years. And, his parents, also.
No, he wasn't yet a pastor when I first knew him. He was still being educated, and was considering becoming a pastor, at that time.
I recall telling him back then, while standing and chatting in the sanctuary aisle, that I thought he'd be a true blessing to others, if he became a pastor.
Eventually, he became a pastor... and worked for God at the church where I used to worship. But now, he's the lead pastor not at that church, but is in that position at Riverside Baptist Church! Hallelujah!
I must admit, attending that celebration gathering, truly touched my heart. To me, it was a wonderful time of fellowship!
I was very happy. And, thankful.
Thank You, Lord!
Until next time...

ALL!
What I wrote about on Life with Lynnie (LwL) yesterday, was not all I did on SONday.
Knowing that we had a meeting after our church service, I stayed with my church family.
My daughter, B and my granddaughter, A also stayed with me. Not for the meeting, but because after that the children were gathering to practice for the musical play they will be doing this coming Sunday.
Eventually, B left with, A. And, I went home, for a short time.
You see, I had to leave home again, later in the afternoon.
I drove over to the Riverside Banquet Hall. This is where I was to have dinner with some friends from Riverside Baptist Church.
In addition, I was scheduled to sing for the group of about 68 people.
Sing, I did. A capella (without music).
In addition, there was a 4 person group of teenagers, who also sang for us, with their music! They were great!
After dinner, those of us who brought a gift suitable for both male and female people, participated in a game.
I received a large item that many people would like. But, I ended up having it taken by someone else, and ended up with a much smaller gift.
To me, this worked out well, though! Thank You, Lord! :)
I must admit, it made me feel so wonderful spending time with fellow Christians. Some I knew, and some I met.
Of course, our meal was absolutely delicious!
Thinking of eating and doing other things brought to mind 1 Corinthians 10:31, "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God."
Yes, it's truly important what we read, concerning all we do. We need to do ALL to the glory of God.
Even though we as a group, all enjoyed everything we did, I know we did ALL to the glory of God. For, we brothers and sisters in Christ, all love God.
And, honour Him, whenever we can.
Until next time...

Turn...
As I mentioned yesterday, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL) I went to worship with my church family.
In addition, my granddaughter A joined me. Although I must say that I didn't pick her up.
Instead, her mom... my daughter, B brought A and joined me in our worship service.
For this, I praise God!
Does this sound different to you? It was to me.
I must admit, having B with me, made me happy. Yet, sad also.
You see, B's health isn't good at this time, as you probably read, recently.
However, in addition, it seems her life is falling apart. At least, in some ways.
Knowing that my daughter is truly suffering, makes my heart break.
After all, I love her. Just as you probably are aware.
At the same time, I believe that God is using all the troubles/trials she is experiencing, to draw her back to Him.
For this, I am happy. And, am trusting God to do, for B.
You see, B has experienced troubles/trials in life.
Just as I have. And, how you probably have.
And, much like my mom did, also. But, my mom turned away from God during her trials/troubles in life... and did not place God first and foremost in her life.
Whenever I spoke with my mom, she would tell me to not speak about God.
I believe it never helped my mom to be like this.
Why?
Because she didn't turn to our Lord, at all.
Thinking of this, brought to mind Zechariah 1:3, "Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the Lord of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the Lord of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the Lord of hosts."
Hopefully, my daughter, B is doing what our Lord said to do. Hopefully, she is turning back to Him.
Please, join me in prayer, my friend. And, understand that I also pray for you, and your family.
Thank you.
Please know that I praise God for all He does for me and my family. And, for you and yours.
May God bless you.
Until next time...

A Gift!
Just as I regularly let you know, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), today I am going to worship with my church family. :)
Like normal, I will enjoy worshipping in spirit and in truth. And, through music!
I'm sharing with you a hymn by C. Austin Miles entitled, A New Name in Glory. Here's a link for you to listen to and/or sing along: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8yTJC-zSx-I. The lyrics are below.
A New Name in Glory
I was once a sinner, but I came
Pardon to receive from my Lord:
This was freely given, and I found
That He always kept His word.
(This verse and refrain were not recorded)
I was humbly kneeling at the cross,
Fearing naught but God’s angry frown;
When the heavens opened and I saw
That my name was written down.
In the Book ’tis written, “Saved by Grace,”
O the joy that came to my soul!
Now I am forgiven, and I know
By the blood I am made whole.
Being saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ, alone... is so very beautiful to me.
After all, becoming saved is the gift of God... not of works, meaning there's nothing we can do to gain salvation... lest anyone should boast.
For this, I am truly grateful! And, always will be.
Thank You, Lord!
Until next time...

A New Name in Glory
I was once a sinner, but I came
Pardon to receive from my Lord:
This was freely given, and I found
That He always kept His word.
There’s a new name written down in glory,
And it’s mine, O yes, it’s mine!
And the white robed angels sing the story,
“A sinner has come home.”
For there’s a new name written down in glory,
And it’s mine, O yes, it’s mine!
With my sins forgiven I am bound for Heaven,
Never more to roam.
And it’s mine, O yes, it’s mine!
And the white robed angels sing the story,
“A sinner has come home.”
For there’s a new name written down in glory,
And it’s mine, O yes, it’s mine!

Yes, just as we read in the lyrics...'in the Book 'tis written, "Saved by Grace,"'.
To me, it's so wonderful hearing this in any music. After all, we are truly saved by grace, just as God told us in His Book, the Bible.
And, just as we read, in Ephesians 2:8, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast."Being saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ, alone... is so very beautiful to me.

Won't...
From time to time, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I tell you about things I do.
Like watching movies!
That's what I'll be doing, today. Here's some I recently watched:
* Who Was That Lady?, starring Tony Curtis, Dean Martin, and Janet Leigh. Here's a link for you to check it out: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Who_Was_That_Lady%3F. Even though this is a comedy film, I didn't find it to be funny.
* Wild in the Country, starring Elvis Presley, and many others. Click on this link, to read about it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wild_in_the_Country. This is a drama film, but I truly think it should be called a musical-drama film, because Elvis' music is lovely.
* The Muppets Take Manhattan, starring Jim Henson, and many others. Check it out, here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Muppets_Take_Manhattan. I'm sure you realize it is a musical-comedy film. I found it to be not perfect, but okay.
* Johnny Guitar, starring Joan Crawford, Ernest Borgnine and others. Here's where you can check it out: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnny_Guitar. This is a western drama film, that has been known as an American Republic Pictures western drama film. I must say, I thought this movie was okay, even though it wasn't totally perfect.
* Fathom, starring Raquel Welch, and others. Here's the link for you to check it out: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fathom_(film). This British spy comedy film was supposed to be funny, but I didn't think it was truly humorous.
You are probably wondering why I didn't find the 'comedy' portions of these movies to be great.
Well, to me, the reason is probably due to the fact that sin is a portion of each movie. Even if they are musical, comedy, or whatever!
Of course, I believe that in today's society, it seems sin is acceptable. Even if it is not meant to be.
Just as we read, in 1 John 3:4-6, "Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him."
The law being spoken of, is God's Law.
Yes, it's written in the Old Testament portion of the Bible, but both are supposed to be important to us. Even if we are truly focused upon the New Testament portion, where we follow Jesus.
After all, we were told that God is the same... yesterday, today, and forever. So the fact is, He doesn't change. Even if some people think He does.
He won't change... and won't accept sin as being okay.
Until next time...

Free!
If you haven't yet read recent Life with Lynnie (LwL) entries, please do so. If you have or, if you do, you'll understand what I am discussing, today.
If you've read those entries, you'll be aware that my friend, A was unable to sell those Christmas wreaths she made.
As I said previously, this made me feel badly for her. Especially since it took a lot of work, to create them.
Just so you know, she wasn't charging much, either. In fact, I've never seen anyone ever sell any kind of wreaths for that low price.
Did A take them home with her?
Believe it or not, she didn't. Well, she did take a couple of them home with her, if I remember correctly.
What did she do with the others?
A gave me a couple of them, letting me select them. She asked me to pick them out and give them to my daughters, B and P. And, I did.
I must admit, I did offer to pay A, for them. But, she refused to accept any money, at all! :(
I was thankful to A.
Plus, I was thankful that both B and P liked them. I was also happy that they messaged A on FB and thanked her for their gifts she gave them.
In addition, A gave some away at the location where we spent the day.
Some children came by looking at them and admiring them. These were children of those running the sale event.
A had a few of those children make a choice as to what they wanted. And, she gave the wreaths to them... also, for FREE!
What a wonderful thing it was that A gave them away.
Thinking of this, reminded me of Luke 6:38, "Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again."
Yes, we need to give. For when we do things for others, it shall be measured to us, again. It will be done by God, for us.
I must admit, my friend A is truly a blessing to others. And, not just to me.
Not just because she did what she did that day. But, also because she always has a loving heart.
Thank You for bringing my friend, A into my life, Lord. Thank You!
May You bless her, repeatedly.
Until next time...

Shall...
If you read yesterday's Life with Lynnie (LwL) entry, you'll know that the sale I attended last Saturday, to do fundraising for Lupus, didn't go well. At least, not as well as I expected.
Why was this important to me?
Well, in the past, I've commented about my daughter P, having Lupus.
A couple of weeks ago, I found out that my daughter B, was diagnosed having Lupus, also.
This was in addition to her being told she also has Fibromyalgia, like her sister and I. Plus, B has Cancer, and won't be able to have the surgery/operation she requires, until spring next year, 2016... because, our health care system doesn't work at its best, always.
Sniff. Sniff, sniff. Sniff... :'(
Even so, I reminded myself about how God is in control. We aren't.
So, we need to trust Him to do what He will do. And, pray.
Just as we read, in James 5:15, "And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him."
I trust God, that His Word, the Bible tells us everything we need to know. Just as we read here.
He told us that the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him (meaning him/her) up, and if the person has committed sins, they shall be forgiven.
For this, I am truly grateful! Thank You, Lord!
After all, I believe my daughter will pray with me to fulfill what God will have her do. And, I will continue to pray for her. And, her sister.
Until healing is obtained, I shall trust God. Every year. Every month. Every week. Every day. And, even every minute.
Please join me in prayer. Thank you, my friend.
May God bless you!
Until next time...

Under...
There's something I haven't discussed yet, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL). But, I've decided it's a good thing to discuss, today.
Last Saturday, December 5th, 2015, I spent some time with my friend, A. Just so you know, we've known each other over 25 years! And, she's truly a blessing to me.
Being both widows, we talk on the phone more than we ever did in the past. And, enjoy our time, together.
However, last Saturday's time together wasn't set up to be just friendly with each other. It was actually the third (3rd) time we spent time together at a Craft and Christmas sale held at the same location on the first Saturday of October, November and December.
Just as in the past, we had the same location for tables, beside each other.
Things were different, though. Not many people showed up.
In fact, there were so few that A never sold any items she brought with her. These were beautiful Christmas wreaths that she had made.
I felt bad for her.
And, I felt bad for me. But, for a different reason.
As you may know, whenever I attend a sale of this nature, I try to sell copies of the book I wrote entitled, Love Never Fails You... This is in addition to other items I decide to sell, as well.
Well, I must admit, I felt sad for A. Especially since I was able to sell a copy of Love Never Fails You... in addition to a fairly large item that I was happy I wouldn't have to pack up and bring home, again!
While the sales made me happy, I felt badly for A.
You see, in the past, she painted some pictures that sold well, and sold some other items. But, being close to Christmas, she was sure her crafted wreaths would be popular.
Believe it or not, A actually sold a wreath before she drove to where we met up. You see, another occupant of the building she lives in, saw them, and adored them. So, she bought one (1) from A! Hearing this, made me happy!
Even so, I must admit, I was rather discouraged in another way.
Not just because so few people showed up. After all, it was so foggy, we were sure people wouldn't really want to drive much that day.
I felt discouraged, because every time I do things like this, I do it as a fundraiser for Lupus. And, usually I am able to collect donations from some people.
But, on that day, only one (1) person donated. And, the total amount was... $1.00.
Sigh...
Believe me, I wasn't too happy knowing how hard it was for me to be there from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. that day. After all, this didn't help me physically, for I have pain that I have to deal with, always.
Plus it was disappointing, not being able to obtain a larger amount of funds for Lupus Ontario.
Of course, I don't have control over what happens. Nor, do I even know when things are due to improve, and fulfill my desires.
Even so, I realize I must accept what happens. And, be humble.
Thinking of this, reminded me of 1 Peter 5:6, "Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:"
Just as we read in today's Bible verse, we need to humble ourselves, for we are under the mighty hand of God... who will exalt us, in due time. In His time.
Accepting this, I will not feel upset. I will wait... and trust Him to provide at some point in the future. In His time.
Knowing that I am important to our Lord, truly makes me feel blessed.
For this, I will always be happy. And, thankful for living under the mighty hand of God.
Thank You, Lord!
Until next time...

Heartily...
Today, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I'll be letting you know more about SONday!
After our worship service, we singers of the choir gathered together. We were to quickly practice the music we were to sing at a special service at a Filipino Centre.
However, I didn't stay the whole time. Nor, did I go and sing with the choir group.
Why?
Well, when we went to practice, I was told the music was changed. While the rest of the group had sang that music in the past, I hadn't.
A couple sisters in the Lord told me I should accompany them and pretend to sing. :) :(
Knowing I wasn't feeling well physically, I decided this was not something I wanted to do. So, instead I went home.
About an hour after I arrived home, I got a phone call from my now deceased husband Gordon's friend, B. He had let me know previously that he would be travelling through Windsor, on his way into USA. So, I kind of expected to hear from him at some point. And, I did!
Within a short time after, B arrived and we talked. And, talked. And, talked.
He had let me know he didn't want to stay for dinner, so when it got to be dinner time, he decided to leave. Partly due to the fact that he was actually having dinner with another friend and their family.
It was nice to see, B. Even though it was heartbreaking to discuss some issues that happened to fellow workers of him and Gordon.
You see, some more have died.
Not from old age. From cancer, and/or tumours, etc. Just like many of their fellow workers had, in the past.
Including Gordon. And, the fellow who used to live in my apartment complex, who originally had Gordon call me and tell me to come get an application for the building, because for the first (1st) time in a few years, applications were being given out... only for that one (1) day.
Thinking of this, was upsetting, just as I said. It even began to make me cry... just for a moment, or less.
However, to keep myself calm, I prayed and focused on our Lord. For He is so very important. Much more important than mankind.
This brought to mind, Colossians 3:23, "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;"
Whatever we do, we need to do it heartily as to the Lord, and not unto men.
That's why I prayed silently, and focused on our Lord... even while talking with B.
Let's face it, if we focus on men/mankind/people, it can truly be heartbreaking. Especially, when discussing how many had died. And, discussing what they died of.
But, by focusing on our Lord, it heals my heart. And, helps me to be happy to do as God would have us do.
For this, I am grateful. And, always will be.
Thank You, Lord.
Until next time...

Soap...
I will be telling you about yesterday, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL).
I'm not sure if you are aware, but before I began taking my granddaughter, A to worship with my church family, I used to go, alone. Instead of arriving close to the beginning of the worship service at 11:00 a.m., I used to arrive earlier.
This allowed me to attend our Adult Bible Study (ABS)class.
However, things have been different since I began bringing A with me. Mainly because I don't believe a 5 year old hyper-active child would sit well through the ABS class! For her, I believe it would be difficult.
Even though I miss attending the ABS class, I have been truly happy being able to bring A with me, to worship. And, for her to attend the children's Sunday school class.
Did this happen yesterday? No.
When I was just a moment away from picking up A, I was texted that she wasn't home for the weekend.
Was this the first time this ever happened? No.
It also happened a couple of weeks ago.
Even though I was only a few blocks away from my daughter B's home, I continued to drive there. Why? Because I had some things for B. Something for her from me. Plus, a gift from my friend A.
Yes, I dropped them off. But, not to my daughter, B. She never came out to my van.
A young girl who has been dating one (1) of my grandsons, came outside. I thanked her for coming and taking inside the things I had for my daughter, B.
Then, off I went to worship.
Yes, I had to back track about half-way to where I live. But, got there in time to worship with my church family.
For this, I was truly happy. After all, yesterday was the second (2nd) Sunday of Advent.
Plus, it was the first (1st) Sunday of the month. The day when we take communion.
Before we actually proceed in the eating of the bread and the drinking of wine/juice, I always pray.
When I pray, I confess to God about anything negative in my life. Meaning, anything sinful I've thought about and/or said or done. Plus, I forgive those who hurt me and/or make me suffer... even if what they do happens on a regular basis.
Hopefully, you think it's important to do this. I know, I do.
After all, God told us what to do, in His Word, the Bible. Although there are many verses that support this, there's a verse that I think about, often.
Many people call it, the Christian bar of soap. Just as I do.
It's 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
Yes, if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just, to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. For this, I am grateful. And, always will be.
Thank You, Lord!
You see, God made it clear to us, that if we are not cleansed and if we have sin within us that has not been confessed to Him... we still have unrighteousness.
It can be terrible to deal with, if you take communion while still filled with unrighteousness.
Don't believe me?
Read God's Word, the Bible. And, see it for yourself.
Until next time...

Everyone?
Once again, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I'll be letting you know that I'll be worshipping God, today.
After all, it is SONday!
It's time for those of us who love God, to worship Him... in Spirit and in Truth. And, also through music.
Here is a hymn that we recently sang during a worship service: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GBr8E76H90Y. It's by Ralph E. Hudson and is entitled, I'll Live For Him. The lyrics are below.
I'll Live For Him
My life, my love I give to Thee,
Thou Lamb of God Who died for me;
O may I ever faithful be,
My Savior and my God!
I now believe Thou dost receive,
For Thou hast died that I might live;
And now henceforth I trust in Thee,
My Savior and my God!
I’ll live for Him Who died for me,
How happy then my life shall be!
I’ll live for Him Who died for me,
My Savior and my God!
O Thou Who died on Calvary,
To save my soul and make me free,
I’ll consecrate my life to Thee,
My Savior and my God!
I’ll live for Him Who died for me,
How happy then my life shall be!
I’ll live for Him Who died for me,
My Savior and my God!
Just as we read in the lyrics, it's important to live for Him... who died for me. And, for anyone who is truly committed to Christ, who has gained salvation and done what God would have them do.
You see, there are some people raised who consider themselves to be Christian, mainly because they were raised in a family who worshipped at a church they consider to be Christian.
But, the fact is... many have truly not gained salvation, because they do not accept the fact that they need to be born-again. Much like some of my relatives.
Some people think that everyone will enter the kingdom of Heaven. But, this truly is not the case.
Just as we read, in Matthew 7:21-23, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."
Is this what you want to experience? Is this what you want family and/or friends to experience?
Hopefully, not.
For those who have to get away from Jesus, will spend eternity in Hell. And, NOT in Heaven.
And, just as God's Word, the Bible teaches us... there is no escape. There is no way to change what the result will be.
So, my friend... come to Christ, today. And, do what God would have you do.
By doing this, you will truly be blessed. Forever.
Until next time...

Born-again?
If you read yesterday's Life with Lynnie (LwL) entry, you'll know that I discussed someone who has been part of my life. Well, as a friend, many years ago.
As you hopefully read, this person is a minister.
A couple of my Facebook (FB) friends read the entry. And, they both commented on it.
One FB friend let me know that... if you don't have the attributes of Christ they are none of His.
The other, let me know that... her mom has been a church goer all her life, and has taught Sunday school, and plays the church organ. She said... her mom isn't a born-again Christian.
Her brother however, attended a secular university. And, he apparently is a Methodist minister, who is born-again.
I must admit, I have to agree with both of these friends who commented.
Even though that friend of mine who I wrote about is a minister, he has never ever said that he is a born-again Christian. Plus, he works for a group that considers themselves Christian, yet teach all in the world that sin is acceptable to God... when it isn't. In addition, he considers himself to be a follower of Christ.
Is being a follower of Christ the same as being a born-again Christian? To be honest, I do not know.
Only God knows for sure.
However, I must admit that I have never read in God's Word, the Bible about gaining salvation by being a follower of Christ.
What we are told is that we need to be born-again.
Just as we read, in John 3:3, "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."
Just as Jesus said... except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
This is why I do whatever I can to preach the gospel to all the creatures of the world. Just as God told us to do.
I do it... and plant seeds for Christ, to everyone who needs salvation, whenever and wherever I can... to all who are not born-again believers.
Like those who are atheists, and those who do not believe they even need to know God. Plus of course, Muslims and other groups who have gods who do not provide salvation.
So, is my minister friend I wrote about a born-again Christian?
I must admit, I do not know for sure. But, hopefully he is. Or, will be.
And, I feel the same for you, who read Life with Lynnie (LwL).
Please know that I adore you, and will pray for you. Always.
Hopefully, you are or will become, born-again!
Until next time...
