Hazel McCallion

From time to time, here on Life with Lynnie (LwL), I've mentioned people.  People, that I know.  Today, is one of those days!

As many people are aware, this fall we in our province of Ontario held elections.  Not just for our province.  Also, for our cities/regions.

The area of question, here on LwL today, will be Mississauga, ON.

Mississauga recently elected a new mayor, Bonnie Crombie.  Here is a link to a welcoming message that was posted on Mississauga.ca

Although I welcome Bonnie Crombie, the person I felt I should discuss, is Hazel McCallion.  Here is a link, where you can read about Hazel McCallion:

I'm not happy about the fact that it is mentioned on that years ago, a psychic mentioned that she would only serve one (1) term of office.  This isn't due to the fact that this occult person was wrong, since Hazel McCallion, served 12 terms of office.  It is mainly due to the fact that the occult was mentioned, at all.

After all, God's Word, the Bible tells us that the occult is of the devil.  And, is not acceptable to God.

Just as the Lord told Moses, in Leviticus 20:6 (NIV), "I will set my face against anyone who turns to mediums and spiritists to prostitute themselves by following them, and I will cut them off from their people."

How grateful I am that our Lord has given us direction with regards to what is good.  And what is not.

Please don't think I am against Hazel McCallion.

I'm not.  Never was.  And, never will be.

And, I'm not saying that Hazel McCallion was involved in/with the occult.

While I never knew her so well, to know if this was the case or not, I believe it wasn't.  You see, I've met her.  Several times.

Although she wasn't a best friend of mine, she knew my parents.  And, she even skated and played hockey with my dad, years ago.

Almost ever year, when a hockey tournament was held in honour of my dad, Richard (Dick) Rutter, Hazel McCallion was there for the opening ceremony.

She, along with my mom didn't ever watch the opening ceremonies.  They participated.  Both, dropped a puck onto the ice, as normally done, during the ceremonies.

I must admit, she was a very nice person.  And, I believe she has a loving heart.

So, now that she is retired from being mayor of Canada's sixth (6th) largest city, I pray she will relax and enjoy retirement.  After all, she was born in 1921, making her 93 years old, at the moment.

Also, I pray that God will provide for her every need.

May God bless you... Hazel McCallion!

Until next time...
