Ancient Words...

Anyone who reads Life with Lynnie (LwL) regularly, knows that on this, our Lord's Day, I will go worship with my church family.

Whether I am able to go to join my brothers and sisters in Christ to worship, or not... I worship Him, in spirit and in truth.  And, through music.

A hymn that I enjoy and decided to share with you, was written by Lynn DeShazo and is entitled, Ancient Words.  Here is a link to a YouTube video sung by Michael W. Smith, for you to listen and/or sing along:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3vmTkXNpwzs.  The lyrics are below.

Ancient Words

Holy words long preserved
For our walk in this world;
They resound with God's own heart,
O, let the ancient words impart;

Words of life, words of hope,
Give us strength, help us cope,
In this world where'er we roam,
Ancient Words will guide us home.

Ancient words, ever true,
Changing me, and changing you;
We have come with open hearts,
O, let the ancient words impart.

Holy words of our faith
Handed down to this age,
Came to us through sacrifice;
O, heed the faithful words of Christ;

Holy words long preserved
For our walk in this world;
They resound with God's own heart,
O, let the ancient words impart.

Ancient words, ever true,
Changing me, and changing you;
We have come with open hearts,
O, let the ancient words impart.

Ancient words, ever true,
Changing me, and changing you;
We have come with open hearts,
O, let the ancient words impart.

Ancient words, ever true,
Changing me, and changing you;
We have come with open hearts,
O, let the ancient words impart.

Ancient words, ever true,
Changing me, and changing you;
We have come with open hearts,
O, let the ancient words impart.

We have come with open hearts,
O, let the ancient words impart.

Some of you have heard and/or sung this hymn in the past.  Some of you, may not be aware of these lyrics, for some versions have changed the lyrics a little, virtually replacing the lyrics of ancient words, with the Word of God.

Truly, it doesn't matter which version you enjoy.  After all, the Word of God, is ancient words.

In any case, no matter what version you enjoy, the fact is, that the lyrics remind us that we have come to Christ with open hearts and wish the ancient words/Word of God, impart.

The Word of God, is very important to us.  For scripture is inspired by God.

Just as we read, in 1 Timothy 3:16, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:"

Not only is the Word of God, the Bible, inspired by Him, but it is profitable for doctrine, reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness.  And, for this, I praise God!

His Word, the Bible, tells us what God expects of us, and educates us as to what is right and wrong.  Plus, it shows us how God loves us.

Do you love God?

Have you been obedient?

Have you come to Christ?  Meaning, are you trusting in/believing upon God's only begotten Son, Jesus Christ?

If not, please read God's Word.  Begin reading in the Gospel of Luke, in the New Testament portion of the Bible.  Then, read to the end.

Please know, I will pray for you.

Until next time...
